yeah this game would be virtually unknown outside of Japan had it not been for that side-B loading message but as for the game itself, looks to be fun with a group of friends but unless you were looking for 4 player action than I'd say Battle City is worth playing more
This isn't the only tank-related thing named after Patton I've seen in a Japanese video game. The Japan-only DS game 'Chousoujuu Mecha Marionation Gear' is about piloting mechs, and one of the mechs is an old, obsolete walking tank called "Patton". If it's this common, I suspect there are probably plenty more references to him out there in games.
I will admit, I mostly just knew about "INSERT TO @$%^@%@ BOX!" in this case. Looks like an okay rendition of tank action, even if it's nothing great as a single player game. Should be more fun with other people for sure.
2:02 definitely this one's claim to fame, haha... but a multiplayer combat-style game does sound like a ton of fun! probably pretty insane if you can get four people together for it.
It's kinda sad that the most interesting fact about this game is an f-bomb. Even if it's not so soft for Soft Pro International, this one still rocks 😉
Honestly I think this seems like kind of fun!! I like battle city and this seems a bit like that, but I will say I wish you could fire more frequently instead of shooting often seemingly leaving you open if you miss
it's that one, yeah. An updated version of Tank/Combat just isn't appealing for a 1988 game. If this was a 1984 cartridge game then maybe it'd be a little more interesting... then again, this being a 4 player battle does earn it some points if you have boring enough friends to play with! Maybe this is just the Atari collector in me talking here, but my god, I'm tired of this one!
Ah yes, the game that stunned AVGN to scream an hours-long F bomb.
This is the insert the fucking disc. game.
That was quite the shocking loading screen.
That loading screen cracked me up. Out of place English profanity in old Japanese games never ceases to be amusing.
I am genuinely curious as to the actual thought process behind that famous loading message.

Search for Fucking Sale! in Japan...
There’s something really funny about seeing those little guys run around, towering over the tanks
My very first video game I ever played was a “tank game”. Combat for Atari 2600.

oh my god… my life is complete.

That parachuting tank music sounds like a Super Mario Land boss.
2:00 I know there's apear F Word in James and Mike Mondays and AVGN
What were they thinking?
This game is Sega SG-1000 AF
I'm probably your only minor viewer here
it's that one, yeah.
