Mirrors and reflections are shown throughout the flash sideways scenes. In this episode we find a magic MIRROR in the lighthouse which Jack smashes using a Looking Glass...
ianwestc omg how have I, in my like 6 times watchig ALL of Lost never realised that that was indeed a foreshadowing to his death?! And now I realise same with the blood on his neck on the plane!! MIND BLOWN DUDE! 😂😂
Spoiler I can't help but think the possibility of encouraging new viewers to call them flashsideways might be pointless, or worse, could possibly detract from enjoyment of the show once it's revealed what's actually going on. Is it possible that for a new viewer leaving the labeling of it as a mystery might better? The desire for the word sets up a small amount of definition which is false and could feel like a "gotcha!" moment some might not like towards the end. Nothing about the show needs it to be labeled that word specifically. The producers or any new viewer could just as easily call it a "flashparallel", or "otherlife" I guess. Something a bit more vague. Maybe more people would have enjoyed the end of the show if they didn't have their minds encouraged to believe it's a "alternate reality" as Jeremy currently does.
That's what they say to wipe someone's memory, not when they put memories in the pensieve (in the films there's no spell said out loud for that, not sure about in the books).

spoiler questions: we never find out who built the lighthouse --- are we supposed to believe Jacob built it by himself ? or some of the previous people that Jacob brought to the island ? who made the magic mirrors ? were there only ever 360 candidates ? one for each degree in the circle ? or did he write in new names after crossing out old names ? how did Jacob leave the island when he was alive ? where did Jacob get money to travel around when he left the island ? why the hell can't Jacob just tell them what's going on ? these never get answered
There are hieroglyphs all over the lighthouse. Its obviously the same group of people that built The Temple, Four Toed Statue, Stone Cork at the heart of the island etc. The lighthouse uses the power of the heart of the island, which can manipulate time and space to see into the past and future. The Egyptians are essentially an ancient version of the Dharma Initiative, using the heart of the islands energy for their own gain. Jacob doesnt tell people anything because he wants people to fend for themselves, to see if humanity can make the right decisions in the face of adversity. Due to the world he was raised in , he essentially sees himself as separate from humanity.
Those questions aren't necessary to be answered. The lighthouse is there because it needs to be (but since there are heiroglyphs you can assume Egyptians made it). Jacob could leave because he knew how to. He had money because he had a vast amount of resources and people backing him, by the time he lived later on, having been around for hundreds of years. He doesn't tell people answers because he wants people to discover things for themselves instead of him telling them what is right and what is wrong (he actually does answer this twice: once here to Hurley and again later to Richard in Ab Aeterno). Think about when John tested Charlie with the drugs and the analogy he made with the hatching butterfly. If he just opened the cacoon, it would be too weak to survive. But if he let it get out itself, it would be all the more stronger and intelligent. All these things can be assumed by the hints we're given and don't need to be blatantly answered by the show. Not only because people aren't stupid and don't always need to be spoon fed, but also because many of them aren't that integral to the main plot. They are "so" because they need to be "so". It's like asking why we exist or what the point of life is. Not everything has such a simple answer.
@@TECfan1 actually it's implied that jacob never left the island... he used the lighthouse to move around the world kind of like how walt did when the others asked Michael if he ever appeared in places that he wasn't supposed to be... also like how shannon would see walt before she died. The light house was how he was able to manifest to the candidates using the light to transport himself and be able to touch them even though he was never really there.

What is the next show you guys going to react to ?
Sachin Chaudhary well, looks like we have Westworld to watch
@@HogwartsReacts But but but... Leftovers!
Is it just me, or are these the worst dog petters you've ever seen?
8:26 That was awesome! 👏🏼👏🏼
the key - miles - some like it hoth
My name isn't John but it starts with a J. Is that close enough?
I love you too.
SPOILERS: "Remember when he got his appendix out?" Nice dodge, Brian. I mean, it could be true, but yeah... it's referring to something different.
ianwestc omg how have I, in my like 6 times watchig ALL of Lost never realised that that was indeed a foreshadowing to his death?! And now I realise same with the blood on his neck on the plane!! MIND BLOWN DUDE! 😂😂
I love crazy Claire lol
Dead squirrel baby!!!!!!!
Brian, I sound nothing like that. :P
"he's dead?" Well …
I’m a Jon! She loves me!
Spoiler
I can't help but think the possibility of encouraging new viewers to call them flashsideways might be pointless, or worse, could possibly detract from enjoyment of the show once it's revealed what's actually going on.
That's why they called it flash sideways and said that it wasn't an alternate reality.
Obliviate
That's what they say to wipe someone's memory, not when they put memories in the pensieve (in the films there's no spell said out loud for that, not sure about in the books).
I haven't heard the word "hooker" in a long time, how old is Boomer Brian?
KlooKloo I just got done watching The Deuce. Lol. (Also, I’m 47)
@@HogwartsReacts 47? Seriously? I'd have guess 37.
Breaking Bad, Breaking Bad, Breaking Bad, Breaking Bad, Breaking Bad. I’m sorry I haven’t even watched the video yet. I just really need you guys to do Breaking Bad next if she hasn’t seen it. Also, I just don’t know if I have or haven’t seen anything about that before from you guys. I’m just a huge Breaking Bad fan who loves Hogwarts of Thrones specifically as well. Not to discredit this. Love you guys.
They have seen it.
Damn it! Sounds like I’m the idiot who didn’t watch enough of them to know they already said it. Too bad.
@@alexmartin9858 Not sure when they said it, but they even posted Halloween pics with them dressed as Walter and Jesse.
spoiler questions:
we never find out who built the lighthouse --- are we supposed to believe Jacob built it by himself ? or some of the previous people that Jacob brought to the island ?
who made the magic mirrors ?
were there only ever 360 candidates ? one for each degree in the circle ? or did he write in new names after crossing out old names ?
how did Jacob leave the island when he was alive ? where did Jacob get money to travel around when he left the island ?
why the hell can't Jacob just tell them what's going on ?
these never get answered
Ooh, you ask some really important questions there...
Oh boy... you again. What are you even trying to achieve here?
Ive come to check on this channel for first time in almost a year to see if you're doing any other reactions and you are STILL reacting to this garbage show that the writers were clearly making up as they we going along, nothing means anything on this dumpster fire idk why you've bothered subjecting over a hundred hours of your friends lives to hack writers.
Why do you behave like that? You have no idea what you're even talking about.
5 major reactors and their viewers beg to differ. Have you even bothered to watch the show with a new perspective? Do you have anything to gain by venting your bile to a party that is having such a good time?
Lost means lots of things to lots of people. And despite what people think of the ending, the show definitely was rich with meaning about different aspects of life. So screw off if you don't like it and leave us be.
Lost fanboys on a lost reaction defending lost, how surprising...
@@Hatziman because i liked their game of thrones reactions and i wanted to see if they are doing something different after a year... and you're asking me to devote another hundred hours of my life to watch the show again from the perspective of knowing that it goes nowhere and nothing matters instead of investing a hundred hours in dozens of great shows i have yet to see.
