    The thing that surprises me the most is how underrated you are while there are loads of people giving garbage advice everywhere. Love your content man, keep it up and thanks for inspiring me to go for the riskier option when unsure. Love from India.

      Hey I just stumbled across this channel I'm interested in improving my communication and making it more interesting through mostly reading and practicing. Any tips of how should I be exploring this channel? Any favourite video of yours?

      @@adityaraj8926 well my first video was the most popular video of his, you can watch is by sorting on the basis of being popular. Besides that, I just watched the video who's title seemed interesting or relevant to me. I must say, don't go on the low view count on his channel, if you think this video could have anything to do with the things you're going through, trust me you'll get some value out of it at very least. Best part about this guy is that he doesn't seem the cliche public speaker type, he seems jumpy and genuinely funny, someone who've worked their way to where he is, not on the basis of some innate talent. Best of luck on your self improvement journey, and when unsure take the riskier option ;)

      @@adityaraj8926I’ve been studying this guys stuff for two years or so now, I’d advise you go to his all videos playlist and start watching everything all by one, and once you’ve watched em, watch em again, there’s so many things that you’ll understand again the second time, be patient and understand that progression in regards to this is non linear, so be ready to stay for the long haul and give yourself credit for the little things you were able to pull off, my favorite videos of his, I like alot of em, he gives such usable advice, I like all his videos but How to be funny’s real funny tho

      @@adityaraj8926 if you’re really serious about improving I’d watch all the videos and take notes. If you’re nervous a lot in social situations I’d start with that, if not then conversation if you run out of things to say, then humour and then the other areas, that’s the most common order that makes the most sense

    Sometimes when you know a comedian long enough, even if the comedian does nothing, you'll still want to laugh for no reason. That's probably another exception to this rule. This rule is near perfect btw. Good job man!

    • @SocialShortcuts
      @SocialShortcuts  Місяць тому +2

      @@unitedtomato5444 I’d say that in this case people have generated some amusement in their emotions in the background and so are closer to laughing already because they perceive this person to be about to communicate outside of normal and close to or at funny, therefore not an exception. However I think I very recently have realised another thing that needs to be added to the framework which I need to work out in a bit more depth first 🫡

    Hey, great video!
    I would only disagree slightly about the surprise part. “The secret to humor in surprise” as Aristotle said (I don't have a source) and I think that sums it up 100%. There are also no real exceptions. Humor is always the consequence of a cognitive dissonance or the memory of it. In your example with the stumble, the element of surprise is still fundamentally present. Because you can never really predict something 100 percent, as it always deviates and varies in some way in your imagination, let alone that you can imagine it so precisely. Even if you know someone is going to stumble, you don't know exactly how because it's outside the norm and therefore still remains too unpredictable. The only thing where you could maybe argue that they're not based on surprise would be running gags. But even those are based on the memory of the original gags, which were not predictable. And even the new ones can never be 100 percent predicted, otherwise it would quickly fall flat and would no longer be funny. So the basis is always surprise, which leads to the conclusion that normal behavior is actually devastating and should be avoided if you don't want a boring life. Prove me wrong.

    70-80% of converations in social situation do not need to be funny.
    calm energy in social situation is generally enough.
    rather than having an approach to make someone else get to laugh, the best advice I have gotten by an Indian comedian is to rather make jokes to entertain yourself.
    this will calm you down, chill you out and the calm and funny energy can then naturally come up in the social interactions.
    Honestly, people take this part of being funny way too seriously. You just need to be calm. And stay away from the wrong people. I have felt the need to be social ever after being a bit spiritual about all this, and then it flows like water.
    Never be obligated to make jokes for attention or social status. Try playing with yourself. (Do not masturbate in public)

      @@Omkar3324 I 100% agree that you want to make jokes that you find funny. It should be first tick ✅ do I find it funny, if yes then ✅ do I think others might like it. Regarding being calm, being calm is a level up if you’re nervous, stressed, insecure etc. if you’re not then better to aim for confidence, enthusiasm, creativity, amusement and love if you really want to optimise for the social situation if the result it’s important to you.

    Put your links at the top and limit them to 2. Use the video explanation as a verbal introduction.
    Then you have a hook to grab attention at start of vid and your offers are immediately visible at the top of the page with not too many options as to cause overwhelm.
