This I agree, I’m afraid to post art on TikTok but unfortunately that’s the reality I haven’t even post my art for years especially during my UA-cam days I was this scared of showing my art bc ppl r rlly mean
I'd probably give up on arguing and be like "Draw it yourself then," but ik Tik Tok is probably spiteful enough to actually do it and then claim the character as theirs.
"Unrealistic" body type - that's literally MY body type??? As a plus sized woman with a large chest, when I first saw that original video i was like: That me!!! So cool! These tiktok kids are such basement dwellers. It's like they've never seen a real-life woman before. Have they not even turned on the TV??? I see people with my body type on TV often enough! Absolutely wild, smh
Same!!...Also I literally have always said Pinky Pie was my spirit animal as I was literally POSITIVE she was meant to be the "fluffier" pony lol the fact that people DON'T think she's a little fatty cake is what's strange to me smdh
People on tiktok and twitter are one of those people who genuinely scare me.. like all the sites i hate because of the people on there, the answer is clear, We need to stop people from being chronically online because its genuinely horrifying what that causes
Unfortunately it's the other type that is unrealistic or at least very very rare. An extremely skinny body with massive boobs is not common y'all. If your tits are big, your torso will have to be adequately proportioned to fit them. That's why i hate these whiny people complaining over a fat oc and hyping up the skinny girl with an H cup.
the tik tok art community SUCKS. it’s worse just to realize that there are people out there that body shame almost anything, even artwork. it’s stupid.
That’s why I am in the UA-cam art community. I’m not planning on being on the art insta community and TikTok or any other socials other than UA-cam. When I become older than 18 I might switch socials or be on both or the same one.
fr!! i literally see ppl who take away a characters large chest too because they "dont want to sexualize the character" and as someone who has a large chest im like- okay so people with larger chests arent allowed to have representation because y'all immediately assume the worst and assume that obviously the character is being sexualized for having a large chest?? how do people not realize that them automatically assuming that it's sexual to have a large chest is THEM sexualizing that character and not the one who gave the character a large chest because people with large chests exist and its not inherently sexual- sorry for the rant i just feel so strongly about it cos i'm so tired of people acting like my body is inherently sexual 😭
@@extraterrestrial.cherries You represent those people just fine. Art assumes a purpose and people love big chests for a reason. It has nothing to do with thinking you don't exist. That's ridiculous and selfish. Get over yourself.
@@extraterrestrial.cherriesI think women who's chest hang lower/sag (whether big or small), and small chested women in general get more disrespect than us with bigger chests. So despite all of that .. we're doing just fine.
I dont understand how having a bigger chest is deemed as "unrealistic," like woman can have bigger or smaller chests, it's as simple as that. My girlfriend literally has a similar body type/chest size to the one shown in the drawing, like what 💀💀
Unrealistic chest are only the ones that are literally the same size as the characters torso and would render them handicapped these tik tok users don't seem to have the ability to tell the difference An example can be that one infamous loli character from dragon maid which I hate
@@wobblezapper2374 yeah I agree with that, people who draw characters and exaggerate their features (mainly body features like chests, thighs etc) just give me an icky feeling-
As a big fat bastard, anyone is free to shame me. Only stipulations are that the Metallica shirt stays on while we do and the safe word is "Ride the lightning".
Even the comments under this video are annoying 😭 let me break this down: Drawing skinny ppl does not equal fatphobic. why? They exist. Drawing chubby or plus size people doesn't promote obesity or mean you're creepy. Why? They exist. I guarantee you that no sane person saw that piece and went: "Since this random stranger on the internet's head cannon for pinky pie is black and plus size, i have to be too" If you did.... 😬 Drawing larger chested people doesn't mean you're a creep. Why? They exist And Harrasing and sexualizing people or characters who look like this is never acceptable! The people in the comments who have the audacity to say 'it's cos it's unhealthy' and "they'll never lose weight if people keep promoting it" Are actually terrible. It's easy to type and post but you have no idea what anyone's going through. Comments like these do more harm than good. Every one is on their own journey with food and weight and every single stage of that journey deserves representation! I can't believe this has to be explained. Drawing plus sized people is not feeding fet*shes or promoting obesity. We exist. We're not hurting anyone. And whatever you think is the reason for ppl looking like that doesn't matter! Making every cartoon character, oc, or character in media a size small will not make ppl who look like that disappear. So why not just scroll?! It's easier. Everyone's is happy. Your opinions aren't always needed everywhere. Know your place sometimes cos the comments I'm seeing under this video could actually hurt someone and you wouldn't know cos to you it's: Making them want to be healthier 🤨 Just stop. Please.
I’m chubby and seeing art of pretty fat people does not make me want to gain weight people are just so dumb. It in fact makes me feel okay about where I am at the moment until I am able to work off some of my weight to be a little healthier (also to fit back into my favourite pair of jeans lol) Sometimes you can’t help but gain weight, whether it be mental illness (my case), hormones (especially when you’re afab), or any number of other things. It’s quite rude for people to think you accepting where youre at and not actively working towards being skinny or a healthier weight just yet is a bad thing. Sometimes you have to do that because the inverse can be worse for you in the long run.
Tbh I can see why they hating, but like.. low metabolism exist, people eat healthy and still be plus sized, as long as they eat healthy or relatively okay, there won't be any health problems too, unless if they are diagnosed with something (and aside from when you grow old, as the body weakens over time) Same goes for high metabolism people, people who are skinny but eat alot, and there's the medium too, where I fall into-
The whole using being autistic as an insult because she drew a character with larger breasts is absolutely disgusting, its just leaning into the stereotype that autistic people are hyper-sexual. Just because some are, that doesn't mean every autistic person is, or that someone who is hyper-sexual has autism.
Facts! And also just cause someone austistic or not, is personally hyper sexual, that doesn't mean their art or what they share is gonna be that way either. Ppl really be making baseless assumptions.
Why are they calling autistic people specifically to be hypersexual?? I think they got it wrong because LITERALLY EVERYBODY IS HYPERSEXUAL AND DISGUSTING (whats worse it seems to be normalized for some reason, example being the freaky meme just being accepted for some reason, and being freaky is literally just being a gooner 😟) its a serious problem and to have them think about this problem as only caused by a specific group of people is so dumb,, how many "discord memes" or memes and stuff in general that have SPREAD LIKE A PLAGUE FROM EVERYBODY have they just blatantly ignored???
remember when positivity was given to you and the people around you? but now you just have to survive a ongoing war with twt, tiktok and so on comments over what you do or draw or even breathe? and they'll rip you to shreds over anything?
Dude, we should be congratulating ppl who draw obese/plus sized characters. It’s HARD. I’m not great at art but if I ever try to draw a plus sized character I have to re try because it’s HARD
@@realdragon Drawing the human body is not easy, Please for the love of satan take a figure drawing class and then tell me it is easy. People don't have flat surfaces we are not 2d objects.
If I'm going to be honest, I think the reason people do this is because they're bored. And they have a lot of time on their hands. So instead of getting a hobby, they decide to find something to hate 😑
I wonder if a lot of this comes from the lack of body diversity in traditional art training. A lot of beginners/younger students are taught to draw body parts in one specific way, which ofc can lead to stuff like same face syndome in ones art but also thinking that deviating from that is wrong or incorrect
the same face syndrome thing happens to many artists, i might say myself included to an extent. but i think with practice, building up your visual librarym and studying features of the face, it get's easier.
Traditional art training doesn't care about "body diversity" in the same way you've been taught. They're more focused on tradition. So they're focusing on the elements and principles of design and technique to gain mastery over a craft. The content of an artist's work isn't the focus really. That's up to the artist at the end of the day. So if they decide to create a gallery of people who have different body shapes, great! But if a teacher is focused more on ideology, politics, or worse yet they tell you that "all art is political" They're not there to teach you to draw, but to make you think and act a certain way that gives their political ambitions a chance. These people have not only made the world substantially uglier, but they've confused a lot of aspiring young artists to become propagandists instead of aspiring for higher things that everyone can benefit from. Just yesterday I visited a gallery and there were a couple of pieces that were political propaganda. It was like the artist vomited on the canvas and was showcasing their insanity for everyone to look at. Meanwhile, you had these beautiful landscape paintings and traditional Japanese art, Traditional Russian paintings, etc., and all these wonderful sculptures that you could get lost in for days. Everyone at the gallery was looking at those, in deep contemplation and commenting on the beauty and technique. While the propaganda was generally being ignored. I was the only one looking at that saddened by it. It's like seeing a potential master of art squandered because they're convinced the propaganda they regularly consume is true and they're unwilling to have those ideas challenged. A real artist, especially today is going to challenge their assumptions whatever that might be because of how influenced we are by narratives that may or may not be true. An Artist should seek to get past that for the real treasures their craft can offer.
@anothercat1300 Sorry dude, I didn't mean body diversity in the political sense I just ment the idea that people have different bodies and due to traditional (as academic) ways of learning art many are only shown one kind of body's and how they work e.g how different people carry fat differently and how that effects rendering and colouring also basic anatomy stuff. Lack of education is what leads to stuff in the video or even conversations in the art community that accidentally end up racist because they don't have an understanding of body diversity. Even in classic famous painters like Michaelangelo most likely struggled with a similar thing as he was notoriously bad at drawing female bodies due to lack of reference
The funniest part to me is IT'S THE ARTIST'S OC. ITS A ORIGINAL CHARACTER. Not something based off someone else. So why the hell does all these idiots thinks they are allowed to say ANYTHING apart from good comments about the artist's OC??? ITS HER GAWDAMN OC. Like ??? she can make her with 4 arms even if she wants to.
THIS, people just hate seeing fat people for some reason. I'd understand if the drama was about artists fattening up thin characters, mainly because of some fetish (i dont understand those bc literally just create your own OCs, it's way more satisfying than changing existing ones) or because of “fixing" characters or “ representativity” (which is forced and doesn't empower anyone), but these are people, doing interpretations of characters or simply drawing their own... No one is obliged to like fat characters, but actively bashing those who do is sincerely sad and worthy of bitter people, like damn just use this time to do something productive ☠️
@@bctdakokomi Fully agree. Like apart from the owner of the OC asking for critic, there no reason for anyone to question another's OK tbh. "It's not realistic" like BRUH realism aint her style for that work so what are they talking about =A=
@@bctdakokomi I don't have a problem with anyone liking and/or drawing fat characters, or fat interpretations of characters, but we can't deny that this behaviour often comes attached with a bunch of harmful medical misinformation about how obesity is harmless and fat people are oppressed. It's not like the public's opposition to this stuff came out of thin air, it's the result of the harm done by the fat acceptance community.

I hate how women's body's are so objectified that their mere existence have to become a discussion or something. Like just by existing or having certain features it has to be talked about and made into a big thing to be dealt with.. Like "this is unrealistic" or the existence of this specific feature is inherently "nsfw" somehow? Like how can people say these crazy ableist and fatphobic things and not feel shame? 💀
I swear people have gotten wayyyyyyyyyyy to comfortable acting a fool online let's be honest how is someone drawing cute oc or fan art drawings that happen to have to be plus size bother them so much and feel the need to leave comments like that when they can easily just scroll pass damm are they that desperate for attention
people are scared to call em out on their behaviour, hell, a deviantartist who drew a baldi comic got flamed by twitter for even drawin stuff BACK IN 2018 DAWG.
13:46 yes! im so tired of people requesting me to make my straight OCs into MLM and yaoi. Not to add to their story, just change the gender for sexual purposes. like dude...there are thousand of bl, mlm, yaoi stories you can read why do you order an artist to do the same?
@@Analou13 yes, straight up order me to turn my female oc into a man. And it’s funny how no one has ordered me to turn my male oc into a woman…no one is requesting yuri, gl from my ocs. It’s always the yaoi fans.
What?! I deeply apologize for people who keep requesting your straight into yaoi or BL topic, some people just don't respect that you created your own original characters and turn something that makes you uncomfortable.I wish that people can understand that requesting these topics are making you uncomfortable and respect your own ideas.
0:18 that's not being fatphobic bro... its called art styles or being more used to drawing something else. Why does someone else care about another person and what they draw... Like.. if you care so much.. draw it yourself! Like.. some people are more comfortable with other stuff
the second instance with 'how unrealistic' her proportions are- No, just no. what's unrealistic is the anime/video game/dating sim babes with massive tatas and skinny little atom-sized waists. If ppl moved their butt more than once a day to take a dump, maybe they'd see people outside your window with a body type just like that (as others have stated numerous times) I don't understand how hard it is to realize that literally everything about the human body varies- almost every person is unique to themselves and even men and women in the same weight class could look vastly different. I for one have been practicing my illustrative body types, and while hourlgass figures and ripped abs are *fun* to draw, I much prefer having variation as it just makes creating more enjoyable for me.
@@sudiestend30 yeah ik- I've just run into people like this in real life who get upset abt proportions in larger chars but then turn around and gush abt characters like Nami or smth like that- as for the small waists and big breasts irl- it's a beauty standard, I realize that, but what Im talking is characters with painfully skinny waists and boobs the size of their head- as if they gained weight only in their boobs ToT
@@sudiestend30 True, but it's when it is accentuated in a sexual way is when it becomes the problem. When it is physically impossible to have the porportions is when it gets problematic.
I’m an artist and I sometimes draw figures for practice. My voluptuous women are my favorites. Their bodies are so much more interesting to me then someone with a perfect figure
In a discord server, I was harassed so much by one user about how I drew Ambrosius slightly chubby. And this happened today. On top of that the same person insulted me for what I’m going through (I went though a hurricane and from the time of this comment I’ve finally found a place to stay for a week). But yeah the fatphobia is getting ridiculous holy shit 💀😭
I'd report that behavior to a moderator and, if it isn't corrected, leave the server. I used to stay in art communities like that because I felt like I wouldn't find anything better. Not only was that not true, but I didn't realize until after I left just how detrimental that type of space was to my mental health.
Sounds like your average internet a-hole. Their mom must be so proud... I'm sorry this happened to you. (Honestly, I'd draw something extra-chubby just for them, since it gets them so hot and bothered.) A-holes will be a-holes, don't let them get to you.
@@KoKabegamiThankfully the person got banned like 30 minutes after the situation. Edit: I forgot to mention how the guy said abbreviations of the n word to me yet the guy wasn’t black 💀 And the character that I drew is the blonde guy from Nimona (movie version) and not the one from RWBY.
yall this is why im scared of sharing my characters cause the majority of them are skinny and white. im literally overweight and a POC myself no im not shaming them 😭 i just like drawing in my comfort zone
All I will say don't be scared and do what your comfortable in doing and don't be ashamed. As let's be realistic you will never please everyone. Look at all the great artists many just did what they liked - experimented of course and gave a middle finger to everyone. Maybe try drawing something you want to draw which is out of your comfort zone - not what others want you to do. Make it a personal challenge and it will unlock so much potential.
you gotta try to dip your toes into drawing other colors/ethnicities and boy shapes tho. it's a bit hard but you'll get it. a good artist can draw multiple kinds of people even if they draw one type more often!
@@anisa2273 And what are you gonna do, If @That_slimecollector wants to only draw light skinned/ feminine characters? What if his comfort zone is drawing light skinned characters? Also funny how you already called that "good" artist can draw multiple kinds of people, which is untrue since I know some artist that stick to one skin colour and they draw gorgeous. Even if you were just trying to encourage him to do that, you could have phrased it better. You sound as if he has to draw different skin tones or shades to become a "good" artist... 🙃
i feel this so hard tbh, as someone who’s making a story that has no prominent female and/or plus size characters (3 of the main protagonists are men, and one is NB) 😭 (also for context im a girl) like i didn’t do that on purpose and i do want to have good female and plus size representation, but the characters i created just so happened to be non-plus size men and the story’s established enough where i can’t rlly go back and add a female/plus size main protagonist. if i did that rn, i think the character wouldn’t add much to the story and would ruin the flow of it. but i honestly think that no representation is better than bad representation, so atp im not worried about adding them to my main cast. i do have a Couple female characters that are relatively important to the story, but they just aren’t as well established since they aren’t MCs. i do have other kinds of representation tho, as like literally all my characters are queer and neurodivergent, and some of them are alt. they also have pretty diverse family backgrounds and stuff. but moral of the story is that sometimes it’s ok to not try to represent every single group that’s out there. i feel like that’s kinda how u end up with shallow and stereotyped characters anyway
Even if the body type was "unrealistic" does that matter? Its a stylized drawing! People don't have giant eyes that take up the majority of their face and a dot for a nose yet anime is extremely popular
@@MohammedAgbadi I mean..yeah you aren’t wrong! For me it’s like “oh wow look at all this cool art, and wow look at this person’s cool project they’re working on!!!” and then all the positive things I see in that community, ends up being overshadowed by something really negative..like you said, when stuf gets wild it get REAL wild, and I don’t know if I can deal with that wild personally🥲💔
3:21 I think this is pinkie pie. But most artists make pinkie pie on the bigger side, and I think it’s fine to make characters skinny or fat if that character isn’t even human. If you don’t like how someone makes your favorite character a certain way, then make them how you want them to look, it really isn’t that serious.
I am sorry but why small artists and hobbysts are required to adjust their art so they can represent everyone "properly"? We are not media giants, most of the time nobody pays for these drawings. Let them draw what they want. No matter if that is a skinny or plus-size character.
People who act like this to other artists are *not* artist in my opinion. If you were an artist, you would be supportive. (that is to say, you can still be supportive and not an artist). If you thought something was wrong with someones character, especially with things like body types, you would give polite criticism. And even then, don't get mad if they don't listen to it, not everyone wants criticism or wants to change, which is perfectly fine. I'm an artist who is trying to draw plus sized characters to get out of my comfort zone and to show representation, if people acted like this towards me, I'd quit. :/ A lot of these plus sized characters are adorable, and I also appreciate how they're not sexualized. I've seen people like this in real life. Also, to everyone who thought that the plus sized lolita fashion girl (I forgot the artists name, I apologize) bust sized was sexual, just, i hope they grow up oh my god, just because they're large breasts doesn't mean its sexual, get your mind out of the gutter... 😭 I don't understand why TikTok art community is horribly hypocritical and it makes me flabbergasted. I will NEVER touch TikTok and I will *never* post my art on it, oh my god. 😭😭
what insane is that pinkie drawing is barely even fat?? (NOT that itd be bad )maybe i just dunno what exactly counts but she just looks like average, i think people are too used to extremely skinny characters in art
I'm seeing people saying this a lot and… no. That picture does depict an obese body type, whether you want to admit it or not. I am clinically obese and I look physically smaller than the image in question. Our perception of what an average body looks like is skewed by the obesity epidemic. Obesity does not look as big as you might expect.
@@Moravian_Mf I am well educated on body types, and as I said, I'm comparing the image to my literal, actual, human body. I am clinically obese. Not overweight. Not morbidly obese. But yes, obese. And I’m smaller than the image. I don’t understand why people act like this about obesity. It's not a moral failing to be obese, so why are we deluding ourselves and pretending that an image of an obese woman is not actually an image of an obese woman?
These people should take a life drawing class. Then you will really see the gamut of human physicality up close and personal whether you want to or not. I have had subjects anywhere from 20 - 80 years old of varying weights and shapes and cultures and ALL of them in the nude, men, women, and even a trans model once. One woman was barely 200 lbs another middle aged man was pushing 400 lbs. It is literally a lottery of anyone's guess and you can fail if you refuse to participate. Your religious preferences don't even matter in those classes because they will tell you, you shouldn't have signed up for it in the first place.
i mean... she's not skinny but i guess one can draw what they want it just feels like the point of her is that she learns to be okay with her ogre form (which comes with her being plus sized) so it's a bit odd to take that all away from her.
@@itreallybelikethatdoe829I mean I kinda understand that one though. She was one of the first plus sized princesses which was huge and it’s weird to change that with an established character.
I think it's important for these critics to know that there is a difference between curvy, chubby, fat and obese. They are all different sizes. And it is also more common for chubbier women to have larger chests because of fat distribution!! This happens for men/amab people too, because that is how the physics of the body works. That is why people can have an H cup size if they are a larger person! It's based on shoulder and body width. I am a chubby person myself and choose to represent that in the characters I draw, and if viewers don't want to see that they can consume media with characters of generic body types. It's that easy.
I'm asian & I drew a plus sized black woman. I was told not only am I racist because i made her big, but that her size was gross. It was literally a drawing of one of my family members who is black. Like tf just let people live. Idk why everyone is toxic about everything. I get its the internet, but damn. 💀
I really apreciate you did a video on this. I am a young artist, and, I have tried expanding my horizons in which characters or which bodytypes I draw since i really love drawing people with normal characteristics or enhancing certain atributes(making characters chubbier, making them have body hair, or drawing them with certain features that are asociated with certain ethnic groups.) . Now, I remember that whenever i decided tondraw something like that, and showed it to my friends, they told me that "her neck is too thick, women don't look like that", "just remove the body hair" etc., etc. It has really bothered me. And, i fe3l for this artist who are getting attacked because they don't draw the most beautiful white , thin or muscular chick/dude in their life.
5:13 omg i didnt expect to find my comment in a video like this I agree the problem is soo stupid like I like a lot of pinkie pie designs! Idc if theyre skinny or fat or whatever as long as they look cool!
If I had a nickel for everytime someone drew Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony as a human and people on the internet trashed it I could buy a house in this economy!
The only way my autism shows in my art is the way all my drawings will be somehow about my comfort character/ hyper fixation. As a teen all my drawings had a guitarist of my favorite band in them and now all my drawings of creations have to be somehow related to my favorite professional wrestler. But yeah no. Autism doesn’t make you draw specific body type
I remembered when i picked up that pencil since i was 3 because i loved drawing and kept scribbling i dint care how bad it was i loved it i dint care to appeal to other people as long as it was something i loved doing so kept doing and i dint stop 10 years later sketchbooks piles exist now and draw and love it as it is and even more maybe and i probably will keep drawing like hey im still 13 im still young i can improve much more but just do it because you love it don't matter what anybody says your art is yours peace❤✌️
It’s really sad to see plus I’m not plus sized I have a little belly and I’m dark skinned (🇿🇦) like it’s not just the art community its also the anime community 😢btw I LOVE your content love from a South African black women
"I don't like the way you drew that!" "And" "And I don't like it!" "So?" And that's how every discussion over it should go. Some people want to act like they're a spoiled 7yr old who didn't get a second cookie and it's not worth wasting time interacting with them.
You kidding me- now people on TikTok are hating on the interpretation of the body parts? 💀 No wonder why artists quit. No wonder. People do not understand how to treat people online nowadays.
Personally, I have a TON of OCs and my favorite to draw is a fat guy. I won't lie and pretend I only get hate (some people think he's cute!) But by far, of all my OCs, he's the one I get hated on the most. "Omg you're glorifying obesity!!!!" Girlypop I literally drew a chubby guy standing, that is all lmao??? I even got someone say that I was glorifying the sin of gluttony and BRO, IT'S A CHUBBY DUDE DRINKING A REGULAR CUP OF BOBA TEA WHILE USING HIS COMPUTER TF???? 😭😭
Honestly, the people who are going out of their way to harass people for their drawings are just pathetic. The reason they do this is because they cant draw. When i see art i dont like i just go 'not for me' and move on. It could be anything - the style, the proportions the colour choice. But we're all in different places in our art journey and lord knows I'm not in a position to be critiquing unsolicited i might add other peoples work. If they had a shred of self awareness they'd look at the artists work, dislike it, look at their own and say why do i not like it - how can i use this improve my own art? And then go make art instead of attacking the creator.
I like the artist's work 😭 it proportionate and the lines are clean and the coloring is pretty 😭😭 I pray she's okay in this hard time.🙏💕 These immature people are really annoying at times...
Today's episode of TikTok Art Drama: Fatshaming. Next week: Kinkshaming _IS_ my kink. Mohammed, I think these TikTok art trends are starting to get ridiculous.
Calling people who don't draw fat characters fatphobic is the main thing causing people to be fatphobic in the 1st place, as a fat person trying to lose weight myself I can't condone this nonsense nor do i think it's right to force your weight onto other people, I've been bullied for being fat and being fat has caused a lot of issues in my family who are also fat, we're all trying to lose some to better ourselves. WHO CARES IF AN ARTIST WANTS TO SOLELY DRAW SKINNY JAPANESE CHARACTERS, it has nothing to do with you. I'll say, I'm not condoning any fat-shaming comments because while I am trying to lose some fat I do prefer my women on the slightly thicker side, I like some meat to grab, and shaming people for being fat isn't good for their mental health. People should be supportive of each other people and shouldn't lose their shit over someone drawing a character with some heft to them, at the end of the day it's someone else's art that they put hard work into making even if you don't like it, EXCEPT NTR/GURO ARTISTS DON'T SUPPORT THOSE BASTARDS!!! joking ofc......unless.......
as a person who has a build like the pinky pie drawing no one has ever called me fat! Sure I may be chubby but I'm not obese I have a diet and I work out! but yes when I post pictures of me on tik tok I get body shamed like what? it's disgusting how people expect others to have a build of a barbie doll.
This proves again that Art Tiktok is really just a hellscape, I'm purposely staying away from it for my own mental health. I don't need chronically online brainrot trolls to judge and bully my art I'm already my own worst critic
Love your videos, they are always interesting. People are misinformed. Obese does not mean fat. It is a medical classification that means that a person’s body mass is higher than what is considered healthy for their height. I look thin and wear a size 8 in women’s clothing, but my chart says that I am “obese”. I am 5 feet tall and weigh 160 lbs. I haven’t learned to draw large figures yet, but am working on it. 😊
As someone who makes plus sized drawings ALOTTT, it really is this bad. Every time I go to school at least SOMEONE says something rude about or sexualizes about that I draw plus sized people alot. It's honestly very disgusting, one time I was called down to the office because someone reported that I was making sexual drawings, AND THE SEXUAL DRAWINGS IN QUESTION WERE PLUS SIZED DRAWINGS! luckily they let me go, and the person who reported it got detention for a week.
This plus-side and chunky is just an ego choking and self-delusion word made up by body positive moment. The fact that many obese people use whose word as a excuse to say fat and or shame other for losing weight. It just shows how much of a fault this moment really be. "Why is she fat" "Skinnier please." "That body is unrealistic." Yea, almost like random people stumbled this video to see a character they don't like and give a thought to the comments section. Sure, they can be harsh, that free speech for you. But that is a personal interest, something that happens in the art community all the time. It natural. And the reality is people prefer shinny and pale and avoid fat and ugly appearances. But the "chunky" people who can't stand somebody seeing them as obese have to make a huge things by calling them fatphobic which effectively label 90% normal people who doesn't like fat people. They see themselves as "oppressed" community allegedly. So they screamed all repeatedly at everyone how happy they're as a "chunky" person and attained massive ego choke everytime they get a compliment.
Thank you for sharing this. Makes me think of this recent anime that came out called 'Plus sized elf' and their idea of 'plus sized' just makes me cringe at times. Tldr. I'm drawing me some thicc lovelies out of spite for people who want to tell me what kind of bodies I need to draw. I've seen cartoons where the MFs didn't have necks, think it was called 'Daft World'. To the dumb MFs tying to act like big women weren't always being represented in art. In order to learn and grow we need to draw multiple body types and not just the ideals. Fat, muscle, folds, all of the shapes we come in need to be seen in our art 🎨 without the need to tell people what is right/wrong.
I don’t think only drawing skinny characters is “fatphobic” UNLESS you’re trying to be a professional character artist. You need to be able to draw different sizes, ages, and races in order to get into any major art company. But we all have a tendency to impose ourselves into our art. Even if that is often subconsciously. I have a tendency to make a lot of bottom heavy pear shaped white women. I’m still studying different genders, races, and ages, but as an artist, there’s always going to be a sense of narcissism within our work. We know ourselves better than anyone else, and what’s easier to draw than what we know? I personally love doing self portraits but in a way that makes me look gross or unconventional. It’s the one time I’m not using a million filters on a selfie or trying to trick myself into feeling prettier than I am. I even title them “self-degradation 1, 2, 3, etc.” (one of my recent ones had tentacles coming out of my mouth and I realized fetishists completely misunderstood my intentions lol) Artists are allowed to put themselves into their work. Attacking these artists for wanting to see their body types in their art as a way to feel beautiful is no different than me doing the same by making myself look cringe or grotesque. Art is a way for us to find peace in ourselves and create something that is appealing to ourselves and connect to others who see that same appeal.
I think that it's important to learn how to draw new things! Because that is how we grow as artists! Especially if someone wishes to go pro they should learn how to draw different hair textures, body types etc. I think that being very anti-learning new things is just kinda sad honestly and that's how I feel about all of this. Like no one has to draw different body sizes but it will (probably) help you grow as an artist.
@@me_myselfand_i2099 oh of course. There’s definitely a middle ground in there. By avoiding anything that doesn’t represent yourself, you’re not only squandering your skills, but cutting yourself off from an entire world of inspiration and beauty that could be inside your mental library. That said, too many kids look at “snapshots” of an artists work, thinking that is the only representation of where they are as artists. Most of us don’t post everything we make online, and a few random pieces we deem “good enough” makes it to the online space. That being said, I think that’s more of a social media problem than anything else haha
@@me_myselfand_i2099 If they plan to become a professional artist, then yeah, they should expand their repertoire as much as possible. But if they’re just drawing for fun in their spare time, then leave them be and let them do what they want. Expecting hobbyists to obtain the same skillset as professionals is part of the issue here.
as a person who draws those hour-glass people, trying to draw plus-sized people are hard. people don’t understand that even if they try, they’ll just probably get hate for ‘making fun of them’ or ‘drawing them bad’. not everyone is good at drawing plus-sized people, because some people don’t want to step out of their comfort zone. obviously, I’m not saying I hate plus-sized people. I feel like the art community isn’t fair at all, let alone even kind. if an artist doesn’t draw a black person, or plus-sized, it doesn’t automatically make them racist or fatphobic. drawing plus-sized people, and not making them look weird, or mocking them, those artists deserve better than a comment that says ‘ew fat’ or something. no one might read this, but I’m letting everyone know that if someone doesn’t draw a fat person, don’t call them fatphobic. if they don’t draw black people, don’t call them racist.
I think it’s amazing to learn all sorts of body types because there is NO perfect body type, and so many different kinds. I love drawing different body types cause it’s great practice and tbh really fun to do! The fact people get angry about this is nuts. All bodies are beautiful and it’s awesome that artists embrace that.
Today if you have even the slightest amount of curves that isn’t strictly just on the breasts or butt then people think you are obese. The term “Midsize” doesn’t exist anymore.
My guy we need you now more than ever! Owonekko is bringing harm to others. Please look into, while a lot of creators are talking about it I don’t think it’s getting through as much as it needs to.

0:15 people draw what they find attractive or like. Or what's easy for them. I suck at drawing skin folds and shading and as well as having more skin folds, bigger people require more shading to draw as well so I don't draw them. I also just find they don't fit ny style and preferences. It's not fat phobic. It's art and it's THEIR art. It's not for you so you should not be judging. It's not like they're using their art to shame so it's perfectly fine. It's their own style and preferences on their own art.
As an actual nsfw artist.... there is absolutely nothing sexual about that artist's work. Like, come on! Also, what is wrong with "gooner art" anyway?? People out here shaming nsfw stuff like puritanical Christians clutching their pearls.
I’ve always loved this body type- for some reason most of the ppl I’ve met with that body type are absolute sweeties, I say almost because of one toxic friend, but still- ITS SO CUTE AND I HATE HOW MUCH PPL COMPLAIN- like- the things I used to learn how to draw bodies was back when just about everybody struggled making more body types, so I only know how to draw ppl on the skinnier side, I would kill to be able to draw chubbier characters and ppl are hating it?!
is it bad that i don’t usually draw many dark skinned people or plus size people…? i don’t mind their body type and i wouldn’t mind drawing it either…but is it bad that i don’t? i swear i think all sizes are pretty if its at least healthy - (i don’t feel comfortable with encouraging arrogant obesity or being unhealthily skinny on PURPOSE, first of all, its not healthy. and it’s kinda bad that some people promote it instead of trying to get rid of it, again, being plus sized or a skinnier is completely fine. yall are just as pretty as each and every girlie out there. but refusing to become healthier and help yourself + being arrogant and saying “i shouldn’t need to” and thinking that spreading that idea is alr? i understand some girlies have conditions and feeling good about themselves is what keeps them going. i respect that. but girlies that just use so called “confidence” as an excuse to ignore their health and promote it to others as well? sorry for the paragraph i just wanted to make sure im clear and not offend anyone in any way.) so….is it fatphobic that i don’t draw plus sized pookies? lmk 😥.. ❤ love yourself
Doing something you're comfortable with doesnt make you a bad person. Your intention isn't to spread hate towards anyone after all, it's just preference. And you're encouraging people to be healthier, not hating on people who are fat. But a lot of people like to twist your intentions, dont let them. It only becomes a problem when you use your art to intentionally spread your hate towards a specific demographic.
ZAWG JUST LET PEOPLE DRAW PEOPLE. especially when it's THEIR OWN OC that they're drawing you shouldn't be shaming them for it, IT'S NOT YOURS SO JUST LEAVE EM BE I also find this guys voice really relaxing even when the topics aren't as relaxing
I've never seen anyone like 7:23 and I live in a city of 4 million people. I've seen all shapes and sizes. Its a little delusional. Just compare the head and shoulders with the chest and stomach. They didn't need to come at the artist so hard tho I drew "unrealistic" proprortioned OCs all the time as a teenager. Gen A is vicious I swear.

I dont understand how having a bigger chest is deemed as "unrealistic," like woman can have bigger or smaller chests, it's as simple as that. My girlfriend literally has a similar body type/chest size to the one shown in the drawing, like what 💀💀
plus I assumed they never heard "macromastia" before and they just assumed and deemed big chest = unrealistic😑
Also breasts are made up mostly of fat, so women with higher body fat tend to have larger breasts. That’s just how the body works
Unrealistic chest are only the ones that are literally the same size as the characters torso and would render them handicapped these tik tok users don't seem to have the ability to tell the difference

@@R0ub1.??? What
Even the comments under this video are annoying 😭 let me break this down:
Drawing skinny ppl does not equal fatphobic. why? They exist.
Drawing chubby or plus size people doesn't promote obesity or mean you're creepy. Why? They exist. I guarantee you that no sane person saw that piece and went:
"Since this random stranger on the internet's head cannon for pinky pie is black and plus size, i have to be too" If you did.... 😬
Drawing larger chested people doesn't mean you're a creep. Why? They exist
And Harrasing and sexualizing people or characters who look like this is never acceptable!
Know your place sometimes cos the comments I'm seeing under this video could actually hurt someone and you wouldn't know cos to you it's: Making them want to be healthier 🤨
Just stop.
Tbh I can see why they hating, but like.. low metabolism exist, people eat healthy and still be plus sized, as long as they eat healthy or relatively okay, there won't be any health problems too, unless if they are diagnosed with something (and aside from when you grow old, as the body weakens over time)
Same goes for high metabolism people, people who are skinny but eat alot, and there's the medium too, where I fall into-

I've never heard of autistic people being stereotyped as hyper-sexual, huh?
Why are they calling autistic people specifically to be hypersexual?? I think they got it wrong because LITERALLY EVERYBODY IS HYPERSEXUAL AND DISGUSTING (whats worse it seems to be normalized for some reason, example being the freaky meme just being accepted for some reason, and being freaky is literally just being a gooner 😟)
its a serious problem and to have them think about this problem as only caused by a specific group of people is so dumb,, how many "discord memes" or memes and stuff in general that have SPREAD LIKE A PLAGUE FROM EVERYBODY have they just blatantly ignored???
Omg as an autistic teenager I always get those type of comments because of the way I am, that’s gross honestly, I hate that stereotype
remember when positivity was given to you and the people around you? but now you just have to survive a ongoing war with twt, tiktok and so on comments over what you do or draw or even breathe? and they'll rip you to shreds over anything?

nah like frrr
It's harder to draw fat people, traditional artists have been painting fat people to flex their skills

When people realisw that there will always be different body types whether they like it or not:
In a discord server, I was harassed so much by one user about how I drew Ambrosius slightly chubby. And this happened today. On top of that the same person insulted me for what I’m going through (I went though a hurricane and from the time of this comment I’ve finally found a place to stay for a week).
But yeah the fatphobia is getting ridiculous holy shit 💀😭
omg sorry about that..damn😭
I'd report that behavior to a moderator and, if it isn't corrected, leave the server.
I used to stay in art communities like that because I felt like I wouldn't find anything better. Not only was that not true, but I didn't realize until after I left just how detrimental that type of space was to my mental health.
Sounds like your average internet a-hole. Their mom must be so proud... I'm sorry this happened to you. (Honestly, I'd draw something extra-chubby just for them, since it gets them so hot and bothered.) A-holes will be a-holes, don't let them get to you.

yall this is why im scared of sharing my characters cause the majority of them are skinny and white. im literally overweight and a POC myself no im not shaming them 😭 i just like drawing in my comfort zone
If I was an artist I would just draw chubby milf all day(I am maybe exposing my self too much💀 ).
you gotta try to dip your toes into drawing other colors/ethnicities and boy shapes tho. it's a bit hard but you'll get it. a good artist can draw multiple kinds of people even if they draw one type more often!
i feel this so hard tbh, as someone who’s making a story that has no prominent female and/or plus size characters (3 of the main protagonists are men, and one is NB) 😭
(also for context im a girl)
like i didn’t do that on purpose and i do want to have good female and plus size representation, but the characters i created just so happened to be non-plus size men and the story’s established enough where i can’t rlly go back and add a female/plus size main protagonist. if i did that rn, i think the character wouldn’t add much to the story and would ruin the flow of it. but i honestly think that no representation is better than bad representation, so atp im not worried about adding them to my main cast. i do have a Couple female characters that are relatively important to the story, but they just aren’t as well established since they aren’t MCs. i do have other kinds of representation tho, as like literally all my characters are queer and neurodivergent, and some of them are alt. they also have pretty diverse family backgrounds and stuff. but moral of the story is that sometimes it’s ok to not try to represent every single group that’s out there. i feel like that’s kinda how u end up with shallow and stereotyped characters anyway
Even if the body type was "unrealistic" does that matter? Its a stylized drawing! People don't have giant eyes that take up the majority of their face and a dot for a nose yet anime is extremely popular

3:21 I think this is pinkie pie. But most artists make pinkie pie on the bigger side, and I think it’s fine to make characters skinny or fat if that character isn’t even human.
A lot of these plus sized characters are adorable, and I also appreciate how they're not sexualized. 😭

💯 the design was def a more average body type! TY for pointing out the odd sensitization resulting from hyper-thin and emphasized hourglass art.
The design was chubby actually!
She's hardly over the average/normal scale
I'm seeing people saying this a lot and… no. That picture does depict an obese body type, whether you want to admit it or not. I am clinically obese and I look physically smaller than the image in question. Our perception of what an average body looks like is skewed by the obesity epidemic. Obesity does not look as big as you might expect.
@@jencooper1468 Please, educate yourself on body types. She's not obese but overweight.
Why do random people even care about how someone's character looks like? Like it's literally their own character? That's just so weird bro 🤨
Because people who do this don’t have any actual problems and have too much free time on their hands.
I'm asian & I drew a plus sized black woman. I was told not only am I racist because i made her big, but that her size was gross. It was literally a drawing of one of my family members who is black.

You should make a podcast tbh
As someone who makes plus sized drawings ALOTTT, it really is this bad. Every time I go to school at least SOMEONE says something rude about or sexualizes about that I draw plus sized people alot. It's honestly very disgusting, one time I was called down to the office because someone reported that I was making sexual drawings, AND THE SEXUAL DRAWINGS IN QUESTION WERE PLUS SIZED DRAWINGS! luckily they let me go, and the person who reported it got detention for a week.
Imagine letting artists do artwork for fun.
I personally draw more thin bodies/hourglass bodies but only because it’s the easiest ways and fits my art style .
I even title them “self-degradation 1, 2, 3, etc.” (one of my recent ones had tentacles coming out of my mouth and I realized fetishists completely misunderstood my intentions lol)
Artists are allowed to put themselves into their work.
Expecting hobbyists to obtain the same skillset as professionals is part of the issue here.
how is the body type even unrealistic? Like just because you don't see that specific body type in real life it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist...
as a person who draws those hour-glass people, trying to draw plus-sized people are hard. people don’t understand that even if they try, they’ll just probably get hate for ‘making fun of them’ or ‘drawing them bad’. not everyone is good at drawing plus-sized people, because some people don’t want to step out of their comfort zone. obviously, I’m not saying I hate plus-sized people.

Your perfectly fine drawing what your comfortable with as long as your not spreading hate towards anybody me personally its fine
