@@Solmom03 coloring doesn't affect the process at all. However, if your hair is over processed from the color, when trying to interlock it'll break while trying to put in the locs. If color wasn't done right or lifted too high, Locs will break off over time.
@@EnToiBeauty I guess it just seems confusing cause you can’t condition your hair etc for whatever time frame so it would seem that doing this before installation would retard growth and be damaging.
@@Solmom03 it depends on the color. I do not recommend bleaching (30-40vol) before install because that requires a lot of maintenance. But if you deposit instead of bleaching, using lightweight water base leave in conditioner is helpful and won't cause locs to slip
You're locs definitely need to be mature before doing this. Her ends were open from a previous haircut. So if you have open ends but your locs are mature, then you should be safe to color. Best way to keep damage at a minimum is to shampoo and condition a couple of time a month, use a leave-in conditioner couple time a week (this info is based on if your locs are mature).
@@EnToiBeauty thanks so much for responding..I appreciate your knowledge and your willingness to share..my locaversary..was this past weekend..I don't want multiple colors just from 1b to a chestnut..my back is locked and closed .but my front ends aren't closed..so I want to make sure..
Not that I know of. But I do notice less swelling when locs are mature and ends aren't open. She previously had a cut which opened here ends so her ends will definitely swell.
@@EnToiBeauty hey Cuz when dying hair from black to burgundy useing those box dyes, do I need to use a developer hun? Or it’s not necessary. I wanted to dye just my ends useing box dye semi permanent
@@EnToiBeauty also I’m only 9 Months in my loc journey I wanted to add a lil color, which I know it’s too soon, that’s why I want to color just the ends
Hi, would you mind sharing the cost of something like this? I have visited a colorist for my locs that are about the same length as your clients, and I wanted to darken my hair to get the grey out and keep my tips lightened or a little lighter I was quoted $250 which brought me here to see if I could do it myself😬
That is absolutely beautiful
Thank you

@@EnToiBeauty do if you color before the install, how is the process affected and the health?

This is exactly what I want once my microlocs become mature!
Glad you like it!
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊

Beautiful!! Is there a way to avoid the swelling of microlox when coloring hair?

Beautifully ✔️ done😍🥰. Roughly how many bowls for the lightening process and then how many bowls of color?
For the lightener, I used 1.5 bowl and for the color, I use one bowl of each color (1:1.5 ratio)
Where are you located
Snellville, GA
I am 5 months in with my sister locs when is the best time to color? Can you give some tips?
The best time to color is when you're locd. Watch this other video I did on color for tips. hope that helps ua-cam.com/video/-EDQoEdrfU4/v-deo.html
Color came out 💣Wow she also cut her locs OMG
Thank you!

@@lindacantonlc I wouldn't do a semi. Do permanent. It'll come out better. See my previous comment.

Did you use developer only to lighten her locs?
Developer was mixed with lightener
