Aussie stocks have rallied as the broad based momentum seen on Wall Street buoyed local investor sentiment. The S&P/ASX200 jumped 0.73% to a new record high of 8,058.
The interest rate sensitive real estate and tech sectors were the best performers, while industrial and consumer facing stocks also did well.
Gold stocks shone after the precious metal hit a new record with Northern Star (ASX: NST) surging 3%. The big miners were flat with BHP (ASX: BHP) down 0.8% after hitting its production guidance for all commodities and selling a record amount of iron ore.
The lithium producers bounced higher led by Arcadium (LTM), which rose 4% and building related stocks rallied with James Hardy (ASX: JHX), Reece (ASX: REH) and Reliance (ASX: RWC) all up around 5%.
Polynovo (ASX: PNV) was the best performer, rising 9%. Online luxury retailer Cettire (ASX: CTT) lifted 5% after updating the market and Zip (ASX: ZIP) entered a trading halt to announce a $267 capital raising.
On the down side, the uranium trade continued to unwind with Deep Yellow (ASX: DYL), Paladin (ASX: PDN) and Boss (ASX: BOE) among the worst performers on the index.
