    Thank you, I plan to ship my personal belongs by sea freight - personal files, small appliances, electronics, clothing, small pieces of furniture - I don't mind paying some customs.

    I was led to believe that the import duty on a vehicle was very high whether you had owned it for 12mths or not (ascertained by thai customs on arrival) . Is that not necessarily the case?

      As I said in the video, you must have owned the car for at least 18 months and the tax is 200%-300% of the value.

      @@AllAboutLifeInThailand sorry Ray , I should have listened more carefully. Turns out I wasn't misinformed and it would have been a very expensive car indeed. I was starting to feel a bit ill until you cleared that up for me. Cheers
