- Hello everyone, today I am tackling my extremely dirty car seats. I have 2 toddler boys and they both ride in the GRACO slim fit 3 in 1 car seat, these are my favorite car seats to use and I really recommend them if you’re looking for a new car seat. I am going to completely disassemble these, wash them and scrub out the bases, then reassemble them to be brand new again.

There are a lot of snaps and clips but after you do it a time or two it becomes easier! 😁 I like to keep up with the cleaning on them about every 6 months just to keep fresh and lasting as long as possible!

We have the graco and love it! We really need the slim fit! It actually looks so much slimmer than the one we have! We have to fit three seats in our car and they barley fit right now! Thanks for sharing this! Taking these things apart and putting back together can get confusing! 💗☺️
I love the slim fit! At the time we had a smaller suv and these fit so well in that car, I’m sure you can fit 3 across the back seat if needed!

Which detergent do u use for washing car seat? My daughters seat has lots of stains☹ Can we soak overnight and then wash it in washing machine ? Will it get dried in dryer or it will spoil my car seat?
Thank you! I use my regular detergent that I use for our clothes, I usually just run mine on a regular washing cycle in cold water (to prevent shrinking), I spray stain remover if needed. As for drying, I usually air dry but if I need to speed up the process I will use the lowest heat setting in the dryer to prevent shrinking. Air drying is always the safest since it won’t shrink that way.

Be careful taking the retainer clips (white clips on bottom) out! The first time I tried taking mine out, it snapped in half and I had to order a new retainer clip

Oh I remember those days with having to clean carseat covers and carseat...what a pain...
I like to keep up with cleaning them so they still look new and fresh! I want to get as much use as I can out of these things!
I’m in the middle of washing mine! (Thanks for the inspo) BUT how do you dry them? Dryer or hang dry? It looks like your putting the car seats back together on the same day which is my goal lol.
I usually air dry them but I had tested out putting them in the dryer on the lowest heat setting and they did really well!

Do you wash it normally like you would do your clothes?
I use the more gentle, delicate cycle, just to ensure nothing gets damaged. It seems pretty durable though!
My slim fit cover feels like it has cardboard on the inside. I am afraid the stick it in the washer. Does yours have this?
The piece that goes along the back of the car seat(where the child’s back goes) has some sort of stiff lining in it to keep it straight and I wash all of the pieces in the washing machine and hang them to dry.
Would you think about sharing a video of pros and cons for this carseat? I'd like to hear why it is your favorite!
Hey! I can definitely do that in the future, unfortunately I don’t have another car seat to compare it to but I can talk about the features on why I like this one. One of the biggest things is it fits really well in smaller cars, it’s not quite as bulky as other ones we looked at.
@@HomewithHannah I have the Graco Extend2fit and I debated on getting the SlimFit. I am thinking when I have two carseats I might need to go to the slim style.

If you lower the headrest all the way it will expose those snaps that are hidden!
Is this the first car seat you got for your boys?
They both used the same graco infant carrier until they were almost 1, then they transitioned into these car seats.
U don’t take out the straps to clean them? What happens if the puke it will all fall into the bottom! Ahhhh there are not videos giving me this info
I completely understand this! I have not found a way to remove them to clean, what I usually do is spray them down with an antibacterial spray then wipe them clean. I do not think this is recommended, but to me it’s better than leaving them covered in whatever they are covered in.
I'm here in 2024 and this was so helpful. Amateur tip, those front prongs are a B***h 😅😅. I almost ripped my natural nails off so be careful.
