Hi, thanks for watching. I bought the Iwatani Junior CB-JCB Compact stove and the Boundless Voyage Ti2110C Titanium Cooker frying pan set. (see links below) The stove isn't the smallest around, but you can buy the required gas canisters all around Japan, even in some really out of the way places. Other more efficient stoves, like the jetboil, which are quite popular, require a different gas cylinder which I've never seen in convenience stores on my travels in Japan. So if you run out of gas it could be difficult to find a refill, unless you're in a sizeable town/city. I chose the titanium cooker frying pan set after reading that stainless steel sets can release small amounts of harmful metals that can be released into your food. (prudentreviews.com/is-stainless-steel-cookware-safe/) Basically, if you don't have a nickle allergy you should be ok, but I decided to go for titanium. Titanium is generally faster cooking than stainless steel. Try to keep the interface between the gas cylinder and the stove clean, as it can become gunked up. Just wash away the built up debris with a stick or cotton swab etc. And check it's all working ok before you set out. I hope that answers your questions. Happy travels! I brought it in Japan and I live here so I didn't have to worry about all that. I have bumped into a few people who flew in with their own bikes. As far as I know u just put it in a special bike box.
Hello Ed, thx for your video. 🎉 I am a newbie and wonder what stove & cooking set you are using. Please share and thanks again.
