I rotate my waxed chains at short intervals and check them at the end of each cycle. The degree of accuracy this tool provides is so fun to see. So happy I spent the STUPID amount of money I paid for it. 😁
Nice to see some gadgets getting tested out 👍
“There is a thunderstorm nearby I better hurry up”
I look back out my windows
man he predicts the weather across time
For example, if the Park Tool tester pulls 75 percent, I test it with a digital test and it gets 22 percent. Park Tool says the chain should be replaced, but KMC says it is healthy.
It's worth jack sh*t because it measures from the left side of the roller to the right side of the roller, meaning that it not only measures chain stretch, but also roller wear, roller play and roller diameter (which is slightly different for every chain manufacturer). The latter 3 have no impact on drivetrain wear. The only tool that measures chain stretch correctly is the Park Tool CC-4.
There is a chart on the left and a chart on the right of the gauge with different numbers. What does each side refer to? Cheers mate.
Nifty gadget as this gives you the exact elongation. But I think my $7.40 chain wear indicator from Amazon does the job. I just took this opportunity to check all my chains, and the one of my gravel bike has elongated over 1 mm. Not good.
Yeah it's pricey. Will use my standard Park chain checker which has served me well for many years.
I am one of your colleagues, I have this tester, I have Univer and Park Tool, but the numbers that come out are not the same, and I have problems testing the chain with digital kmc. Thank you for your help.
I like it, but it's insanely expensive in Canada, where I live.
Yes
No wucken furries, can’t miss Aussie slang anywhere!!!👌
It is nice but in all honesty all that is needed is a simple "Go-No-Go" gauge.
cool, but not for me.
