I think when it comes to animation, what isnt written can be more impressive than what is written. The way they characterized cuphead and mugman by cuphead standing still, confidently firing out shots, whereas mugman courageously evades despite clearly being weaker, it just works so well.
That was a damn good fight right there. You really sold the scenario, felt like a believable what if seeing Cuphead's behavior at the start of the game.
Thanks, the reason i made this animation is because the final boss Devil was a bit too easy compare to other bosses so i thought it would be cool to have a bonus boss after that.
Cuphead’s definitely got a greedy side. He isn’t as perceptive and rational like his brother Mugman. I feel like he would be the type of character to be easily brainwashed because of his flaws. Or even temporarily joining the Devil’s side. Don’t get me wrong Cuphead is kindhearted and has good intentions overall, but I feel like he would forget about his morals/sanity when wealth is involved.

I like how Cuphead and Mugman had different fighting styles. Cuphead was mostly focus on damaging/hurting Mugman and going all at it using pure power (offense) while Mugman was focusing on dodging Cuphead's attacks(defense)

Uhm excuse me, why is this incredibly underrated. The animation is so fluid and clean. It’s incredibly high quality and it deserves way more views. I haven’t seen anybody talking about the fight itself, so i’m gonna take the first one. You have managed to make a game where you just shoot magic bullets look really epic. Going as far as utilizing a lot of the game’s mechanics. With the smoke dash, super arts, and different types of shooters. Along with the axe parry, i believe that’s in the game. You even included the little detail with mugman’s soul floating up, waiting to be parried. You’ve done an excellent job in all those categories. If i had to nitpick, i’d say i would’ve liked to see a longer fight. But that’s just because of how pleasant it was to look at.
2:21 This part is insanely clean and underrated. I mean, it sounds kinda bogus that only the INDEX finger can shoot out the magic-pellet-things. Really cool to see another person realize that if it affects the hand, any finger can use it. Also the fact that it’s incredibly smooth and cool to see.
This works REALLY well as a concept, imagine you get to the end of Cuphead in 2-player and a fight between P1 and P2 begins and the ending changes depending on the winner.

I love how this whole animation with the fight scene itself tells us that greed can truly change us and would make us do things such as harming those you love. Just like any cartoon I've seen so far has a moral in every single thing when it comes out.

I personally think that Call Maria's soul contact possessed Cuphead by feeding off his greed and magnifying it to absurdity. Because that's what it looks like with that purple tether of energy connecting the 2 that Mugman noticed, and the curse seemingly breaking when Mugman shot the contract, with Cuphead's pupils changing from Dollar signs to cups and him not remembering what happened, as well as the contract turning into a dollar sign and then disappearing. So, while it is possible to make the arrangement that Cuphead isn't entirely at fault in this scenario due to him being possessed and therefore not completely in control of his actions, I think the contract was only able to possess him in the 1st place because of his greed, and without it, the contract wouldn't have anything to feed off of and would therefore have no power over him. I guess this shows how greed can change a person and cause them to do crazy things, even hurting their loved ones. And also not to mess with demonic items or forces or, anything really. Remember kids: Don't Deal With The Devil.
One-time me when I was a little boy and my friend came over me and him were like five six who started like imagining that I was thought he was Captain America and we start fighting over it yeah just like the thing you said seriously we fought on the last slice of pizza pepperoni
I think that the last realization where the money sign gets sliced and the cup comes back in his eyes is really sad, then he looks over at the soul contract and realizes what just happened and it all makes for a really good ending

LucHD, I'm really surprised with the animation, the movements, the slow mo, the editings and how you made an 2D and 3D animation together. I haven't seen an amazing animation like that one. Congratulations man, that's all from me.
i’d like to imagine this as the final episode of the entire cuphead show in the season finale, cuphead has been kidnapped by the devil and brought back to his place, let’s say that the devil gave up trying to snatch his soul away, but he will have him sign the contract with force which will turn him against his friends and family, you may say cuphead would just tear the contract, well the devil will use his powers to force him to sign the contract, so it’s up to mugman and Ms Chalice (if she comes back to the series) to rescue cuphead from the devil before something happens to him, but they were already too late to save cuphead from the devil because he already signed the contract which will turn him into the devil’s strongest apprentince, so the in between the climax, Mugman will fight his only brother Cuphead and the devil will sit in his throne watching them fight while Ms. Chalice will sneak her way to the contract and figure out a way how to destroy it, and then when Ms Chalice snatched the contract unintended she dumbed it into a pit of lava, Cuphead was about to deliver the final blow to his brother but since the contract fell into the lava, he quickly snapped out of it and the devil was confused saying “Cuphead, Why are you not finishing him?” and then he noticed that his contract was missing and was like “oh no, where is the contract?” and then realised Ms Chalice destroyed it, so the final battle begins with the three of them making thier one last stand against the devil, before the final fight began the devil said to them, “You will all, DIE WHERE YOU STAND”
Well, Judging from the fact that mugman seemingly comes back every level no matter if you save him or not' we can gage whatever the hell was in the potions is the result of this and just needs to regenerate per say so this would probably result in mugman coming back and having a brotherly argument with cuphead [Good ending] Edit: Also notice Cuphead uses 2 hands for the final shot which would result in a more powerful blast, the attention to detail is insane. Edit 2: I love that instead of shooting Cuphead mugman instead went for the thing that cuphead was greedy for The Contract a great alternative to shooting his brother especially sense they can revive themselves
I dont think you understand, if cuphead doesnt reach him right there, its game over forever for him. the devil was the last level, if he dies after it, he dies forever. What im trying to say is, there is no more levels for mugman to revive. if he dies there. he dies forever.
@@theoslimaa As truthful that might be, I highly doubt it. If you need a level to regenerate, that's a very specific condition. I doubt they'd die, despite Quadratus the Wise stating they come back upon any death, even if there was no level. Cuphead never die's outside, but say you WON in the devil fight, and then somehow DIED. The soul literally pops a new body into existance.
Dang, this fits CupHead's personality, it just makes sense for gambling to get to his head, since he rolled the dice which got him into the soul contract mess in the first place, it goes so far that he would end his brother just for pocket money

I’m sure we all want one, but the animators worked long and hard to make this. If they want to make a sequel, it’s up to them, but they’ll do it at their own pace.
I find myself rewatching this all the time, seeing cuphead saying that this could protect them (blinded by greed), and mugman trying to convince him that this isn't right so cuphead shoots at him and mugman doesn't want this to happen, but he realizes he has to stop cuphead before something worse happens

Oh man, the pacing, the characterization, the music, wonderful work! Like the way cuphead stands still while mugman is moving to evade his fire, it makes for a very clear underdog vibe.
I kinda believe mugman still survived, cause in the game you can parry the ghost of your friend in co-op and it will revive them, and cuphead was running to mugman saying "don't follow the light, hang in there!" so he probably revived him.
I loved this animation from the epic moves with all of these different shooters and the art style and how you did the text boxes instead of a voice over. The fight scene was great and you know how I could tell? I cried. It takes a lot for that to happen to me and props to you. Nothing even close to horrible content. This is far past my high standards. Great work! If I were to say anything it’s that…. I wanna see a part 2. Awesome job
I've been thinking for a while of making a cuphead show on UA-cam, basically my own version of it. I just found this video and it's exactly what I had in mind for the show, not the plot, but the animation and the moves. I love your work! Big inspiration!
um, this may not help you, but you could make a virtual note pad thing you can add on to all the time, and when you get ideas for story and other things like that so you can get ideas from all through the idea process and change things if you wanna, and when you feel you are ready, then release it or show it to friends or whatever. (having a plan really helps for making stories, but its nice to not have limitations on the stories sometimes, to me at least) idk, this may just be me, but it could help you. another thing you could do is have semi-cannon things, like you wanna add into the story but couldn't happen the exact same way due to rules you may have set in place.
i've seen games where the 2st character is the hero (like in mario, luigi mansion 3, luigi is the hero) but this was... that was... i can't even put it in words... it was amazing...
This battle should've been in the game either as a fan made boss battle or as a 2 player afternite choice ending were one player picks the bad ending and the other to pick the good ending, causing both players to battle it out(that's just my opinion)
Tbh that would be a good twist for a RPG like game where you and your friend had to help each other through the game, but in the end fight it out to see who's the better player

Nah, It adds an old cartoon feel where it was nothing but text. The timing with all the dialogue is superb and never too wordy. It's really good!

I think that the last realization where the money sign gets sliced and the cup comes back in his eyes is really sad, then he looks over at the soul contract and realizes what just happened and it all makes for a really good ending

I love the fact that’s there’s no Voice Acting, and You had the restraint to not make them Cuss. In a Fight like this, It would be justified that both characters would curse. but you didn’t, That shows their age, Even though they defeated the devil himself, They’re just Boys, Not adults. i’d like to imagine this as the final episode of the entire cuphead show in the season finale, cuphead has been kidnapped by the devil and brought back to his place, let’s say that the devil gave up trying to snatch his soul away, but he will have him sign the contract with force which will turn him against his friends and family, you may say cuphead would just tear the contract, well the devil will use his powers to force him to sign the contract, so it’s up to mugman and Ms Chalice (if she comes back to the series) to rescue cuphead from the devil before something happens to him, but they were already too late to save cuphead from the devil because he already signed the contract which will turn him into the devil’s strongest apprentince, so the in between the climax, Mugman will fight his only brother Cuphead and the devil will sit in his throne watching them fight while Ms. Chalice will sneak her way to the contract and figure out a way how to destroy it, and then when Ms Chalice snatched the contract unintended she dumbed it into a pit of lava, Cuphead was about to deliver the final blow to his brother but since the contract fell into the lava, he quickly snapped out of it and the devil was confused saying “Cuphead, Why are you not finishing him?” and then he noticed that his contract was missing and was like “oh no, where is the contract?” and then realised Ms Chalice destroyed it, so the final battle begins with the three of them making thier one last stand against the devil, before the final fight began the devil said to them, “You will all, DIE WHERE YOU STAND”
Spoiler alert mugman is the one being captured
“You will all die where you stand” wait with if I? “You will die where you stand” that sounds so familiar hmmm

Well, Judging from the fact that mugman seemingly comes back every level no matter if you save him or not' we can gage whatever the hell was in the potions is the result of this and just needs to regenerate per say so this would probably result in mugman coming back and having a brotherly argument with cuphead [Good ending]
Edit: Also notice Cuphead uses 2 hands for the final shot which would result in a more powerful blast, the attention to detail is insane.
Edit 2: I love that instead of shooting Cuphead mugman instead went for the thing that cuphead was greedy for The Contract a great alternative to shooting his brother especially sense they can revive themselves

What im trying to say is, there is no more levels for mugman to revive. if he dies there. he dies forever.
@@theoslimaa As truthful that might be, I highly doubt it. If you need a level to regenerate, that's a very specific condition. I doubt they'd die, despite Quadratus the Wise stating they come back upon any death, even if there was no level. Cuphead never die's outside, but say you WON in the devil fight, and then somehow DIED. The soul literally pops a new body into existance.

I find myself rewatching this all the time, seeing cuphead saying that this could protect them (blinded by greed), and mugman trying to convince him that this isn't right so cuphead shoots at him and mugman doesn't want this to happen, but he realizes he has to stop cuphead before something worse happens
that got dark..this shows how much cuphead doesn't really think! unlike mugman cuphead was the reason they got into this trouble in the first place the whole reason they were in this situation! now hes thinking about selling peoples soul for money!! let me say that again PEOPLES SOULS well soul contract but still IT COUNTS! that was a good fight though..hopefully cuphead can reach mugman before he gets to far for him to jump

Oh man, the pacing, the characterization, the music, wonderful work!
Like the way cuphead stands still while mugman is moving to evade his fire, it makes for a very clear underdog vibe.
The fact that there brothers and this happened gives me the chills.

This animation just proves that every character is better with a villain arc.

I kinda believe mugman still survived, cause in the game you can parry the ghost of your friend in co-op and it will revive them, and cuphead was running to mugman saying "don't follow the light, hang in there!" so he probably revived him.
No he did not....... Mugman's ghost was to high already.... At least that's what I saw

I loved this animation from the epic moves with all of these different shooters and the art style and how you did the text boxes instead of a voice over. The fight scene was great and you know how I could tell? I cried. It takes a lot for that to happen to me and props to you. Nothing even close to horrible content. This is far past my high standards. Great work! If I were to say anything it’s that…. I wanna see a part 2. Awesome job

I've been thinking for a while of making a cuphead show on UA-cam, basically my own version of it. I just found this video and it's exactly what I had in mind for the show, not the plot, but the animation and the moves. I love your work! Big inspiration!
um, this may not help you, but you could make a virtual note pad thing you can add on to all the time, and when you get ideas for story and other things like that so you can get ideas from all through the idea process and change things if you wanna, and when you feel you are ready, then release it or show it to friends or whatever.
(having a plan really helps for making stories, but its nice to not have limitations on the stories sometimes, to me at least)
idk, this may just be me, but it could help you.
another thing you could do is have semi-cannon things, like you wanna add into the story but couldn't happen the exact same way due to rules you may have set in place.

This battle should've been in the game either as a fan made boss battle or as a 2 player afternite choice ending were one player picks the bad ending and the other to pick the good ending, causing both players to battle it out(that's just my opinion)
Tbh that would be a good twist for a RPG like game where you and your friend had to help each other through the game, but in the end fight it out to see who's the better player
