In my opinion I think the reason why Mike has a hard time saying “I love you” is because his parents don’t actually love each other and it’s not really used in the household. Another reason is because he’s a teenager and Love is such a scary thing and it’s holding him back. I do have to say he should be a lot nicer but I don’t hate him at all!
From my interpretation, the “I Love You” that Eleven is wanting from Mike isn’t pressured. If you can recall, in season 3, Mike says that he loves El to everyone BUT El. He’s come close several times, but no cigar. Even during the finale of season 3, El gives him time to say it to her, and she just ends up saying “I love you too”. I can definitely understand Mike’s hesitancy in saying it, and even more as this season goes on, but I don’t fault El for wanting him to say it to her. Especially since she knows he loves him, as she overheard it. The least he could do is write it, if he has a hard time vocalizing it. Just my opinion.
Yall made me think of Nancy and Robin's rough start in a completely different way. I didn't even think of the fact that Nancy is used to people just doing what she says and not being questioned about it, so when Robin questions her (not in a belittling way but bc she is just trying to make nice) they bump heads. Big ups to yall giving me a new perspective.
Ngl. I always thought of Max as not much of a character back then. I feel like she's just a love interest for Lucas or maybe a girl friend for El and that's it. But damn. S4 prove me wrong. She became one of my favorite characters here in the whole series. Her character is definitely great this season
Dope reaction as always guys! The Nancy and Robin tag team is also one of my favorites this season. Both highly skilled and intelligent, but with opposite personality types. Like a fun buddy cop/detective dynamic.
Mike said he loved her once. In a high intensity situation to get everyone to not send her into an extremely dangerous situation/use her like a weapon and put her life at risk. In an outburst that she wasn't MEANT to hear. She just happened to be able to hear him. And then he REFUSED to say it and talked completely around it, trying to get her guess the word love in a fill in the blank type deal so he didn't have to say it and outright saying he didn't remember saying it, for the rest of s3. In the end EL said "I love you too" and kissed him. I think she thought once she said it, he'd be able to say it because she though he was just scared he say but the she wouldn't feel the same way. Then he just... never said it. 8 months later. Her valentines card from him even says "I like you"
Hopper didnt have his ankle broken he got the other prisoner to hit the metal shackle to make it elongated so Hopper could get it off, all he suffered was flesh tissue damage
I see El's pov here and with the title "The Monster and the Superhero" When El & Mike were arguing about how he never says he love her or that he doesn't love her anymore.. You can see her sadness when he calls her "El" and that's the problem. She is Jane now. A weak, normal girl who can be violent and as she said, he looked at her as if she's a monster. While Eleven is a superhero with superpowers. She's cool & amazing. It probably dawned on her that Mike is probably in love with El not Jane.
The whole love you thing, frankly I’m on Mike’s side and the pressure to say it is mad stupid. No one should say it if they aren’t comfortable, especially with her being his first love, taking the time for the word to finally fit for him is entirely understandable
I cannot express in words how much I absolutely adore watching this trio. You balance off each other so well and are an absolute joy to watch. I cannot WAIT to see episode 4 from you ❤ Thanks for another great reaction 🎉
I think El is being kind of silly--this is a 14-year-old boy who picked flowers for her because she casually mentioned missing them, kept her favorite colors in mind, and carried them in public on an airplane. For a 14-year-old... dude, that's "How to say 'I Love You' without saying 'I Love You.'" For the record, I think the police *can* question minors without a parent, but a defense lawyer could still use it. From the looks of it, though, they didn't even properly Mirandize her.
In similar fairness, this is the same girl that -lied- claimed a bully was her friend and attempted to get said bully to go along with it and apologize after it was _very publicly_ proclaimed otherwise. Like, you’re not wrong, but subtlety is… well, subtle.
@@alecLogan Oh, yeah, I can see where he was thrown. I just think it had much impact on whether or not he loved her. He's barely past the girls-have-cooties stage of life, and thinks of "I love you" as "Something old people sometimes say."
@@Sephiroth766I don't thin that's entirely it. She checks the card on the flowers at the airport and looks like she's gonna cry when she sees it says from. This is just the first point where she's had the reason/opportunity and courage to confront him about it. She felt unloved at the airport and was pushing it down to put on the happy girlfriend act. But after the mess at the rink and his reaction, she just couldn't fake it anymore.
I disagree. I don't like saying "I love you" to people. It just doesn't come to mind even if I love them. Saying "I love you" doesn't sound natural to me, but just fake or pandering. Just being with someone is enough to say "I love you" without the need for words.
i can agree with this to an extent, i also am not someone who is very affectionate and has trouble sometimes showing that. i don’t say i love u often to friends, even some i’ve known for years. but i personally feel like when it’s comes to romantic relationships it’s a bit different. if someone i was together with wasn’t able to look me in the eyes and tell me they loved me then i would just believe they don’t love me and leave them
@@jayyy957 That to me doesn't make sense. Romance without friendship is just sex. And if you grow up with a friend and went through so much with them, then you should of love them more than any boyfriend or girlfriend. And what about family? Romantic love shouldn't be put on a pedestal.
@@lunavioleta001 maybe this is something different for a lot of people. most of my life i’ve never really had friends. i’ve been with my boyfriend for years and we’ve worked through it together. i love and care for my friends that i have now started to make over the last year but i had my bf first and i literally coddle my little sister every chance i get. maybe u misunderstood what i was trying to say. or maybe i didn’t communicate correctly. i see what ur saying.
@@lunavioleta001 i do believe u could show someone you love them without necessarily saying it out loud, as in small actions and all that and it could be either romantic or platonic. but my main point was i do look at it differently when it comes to romantic relationship bcs i strongly value communication in that setting. i love my mom with all my heart but we don’t say it to each other often, we show it. however with my bf it’s different. doesn’t mean i love him more but it’s a different dynamic. love is a beautiful thing no matter what shape or form it takes but i do look at certain aspects a lot differently. maybe for u that’s a bit odd but idk that’s just me.
@@jayyy957 If you been with your boyfriend for years, then isn't he your best friend? Do you hang out with him and talking bunch of meaningless crap? Communication should be part of any relationship, romantic or otherwise. But not saying "I love you", is not the same as not communicating. You only need to set the foundation once, after that, you don't need words to express your intimate emotions. Plus it's different for each individual. I don't like saying "I love you", it doesn't sound natural to me. This isn't the same as being against other people saying "I love you". I just don't have an authoritarian or religious look on love.

Steve is and forever will be the babysitter of the group 😂😂
Both Nancy and Mike have trouble saying "I love you," because it's just not something that is said in their family.
The military knows Eddie is innocent but they're fine with letting him fry for it.
