    Great tutorial! it does not go into details of what exactly is going on (for that I can recommend Luke Smith Arhc install or plain Arch wiki), but for someone who knows what is going on but does not remember all the commands by heart this is very useful.
    Minor: I think user password change at 26:00 should be `passwd ermanno`, otherwise it changes root pass.

    Question: For laptop users its common to have two graphic cards nowdays, I mean, the intel one and, lets say, nvidia as well. In these cases, should we install the respective drivers for both?
    Keep the awesome work! Cheers

    • @eflinux
      @eflinux  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Jorge, thanks for your question. It's something that I originally planned to have included in the tutorial, but it was getting too long. According to the Arch Wiki since the NVIDIA 435.17 there is a method called PRIME which is already included and works automatically. That is actually the preferred method and the only one supported by NVIDIA. There is also a package in the AUR called optimus-manager that you can install and start/enable to change this manually. The NVIDIA driver includes everything, no need to install anything else.

    • @tonyawards560
      @tonyawards560 4 роки тому +1

      So the Intel and nvidia drivers both get installed and prime can run them after that? And if we also install an lts kernel we'r also need lts for nvidia, yes? When arch updates the kernel, which happens a lot, do they send out the updated nvidia drivers so that the desktop doesn't break, or does the user have to do that manually? For both kernels?

    • @tonyawards560
      @tonyawards560 4 роки тому
