shisui is one of my favorite prestige characters. his base is just itachi if he actually did damage, especially with his genjutsu, and although his mode is pretty mid u can still easily kill ur opponent 1-2 times if used properly.
I’d main him if one guard break in mode had no endlag but more importantly if his genjutsu had no endlag like itachi. The no genjutsu endlag is the #1 reason itachi gets play in S tier convos and top of ranked picks
@@MalakaiFlame im ngl i never really noticed the endlag before, but i see it now. i dont really see how slightly less endlag makes itachi significantly better aside from mixups, since i believe shisui can do it as well, but maybe its not as consistent in the higher levels of play. it sucks both of his guardbreaks have end lag, but honestly with how big their hitboxes are he might legitimately be top 10-15 characters in the game if they didnt, so its somewhat understandable. ur opponent can try and just turtle the awakening, but they will eventually get chipped down and die, similarly to itachi in a way since hes also not damage heavy in mode (aside from timing tsukuyomi with your mode ending).

I just finished the video, and honestly, I can see why u think itachi is better, but for me, I think it's pretty even when taking into account ur arguments. Itachi can start combos more easily, but he loses damage if he does so, and even at his peak he deals less damage and takes more execution (which can easily be messed up even if u are a pro, with or without aba jank) so shisui wins here. Shisui can technically use halo dance for defense, but itachis crow takes the cake here, so even if itachi's base is overall worse, it has its perks. We both know shisui's mode isn't it, but realistically speaking, the comparisons u made aren't factoring in mode battles enough. Both of their modes aren't great compared to the top tier or even slightly above average modes, and both struggle against them (itachi only has 2 consistent forms of offense, so hes a sitting duck without his ). If anything, the fact that shisui has 1 extra move he can use consistently, and all 4 of his moves can be used to keep pressure off of him in a way (hyperarmor saves him from endlag), he might be better for mode battles (use mode to regain hp, stall till ur surperior base comes back). They are 50/50 in 1v1s, but shisui practically takes every other game mode, at least in my eyes.
