Dual Octatrack Techno 136bpm with Anniversary Edition Samples

Techno track produced with two Elektron Octatracks, one with the nice Anniversary samples, one with a drum setup I'd been working on for a while. Have fun listening.

run all four outputs from each octa into a mixer for greater and immediate tone shaping. Bonus send sub groups back into them for live sample mangle, also run much better external fx on a send.

I used to hate samplers till i decided to build a daw🤣🤣🤣 now i load all my own make sounds into one octa and make a set. 2.octas is life🖤 do you feel an erm multiclock is needed with em or is overkill cause octas aint have the best of clock sync in general but better than roland for sure:p

I would use a multiclock for bang on timing if other gear involved and had midi coming from each octa. You cpuod set up a master octa and a slave octa and just have one sending clock or one filtering cc's. Elektron is good like that.

How do you synchronise the two? Do you split your samples in a specific way (drums for octa 1? Loops for octa 2)?

How do you like running 2 OTs? Been thinking of selling my AR and getting a second OT for more flexibility or even using it as a second deck or drum machine

Rytm is a sampler. Not anywhere
as crazy as octa but still a sampler. Can do many thing with rytm.

i'm desperate to know, when you synch one OT to another, does the tempo on the 2nd jitter at all? like looking at the tempo on the 2nd, does it wobble?

It shouldn't do that. Its just a single one machine daisy chain. Ive heard octa doesn't like to be slave on certain forum, ive slaved it off to a rytm and it was fine. If doing live show i would still use a dedicated external midi click for bang on timing just because.
