I wonder why the air intake snorkle have that hole and the bulb at top... Is it to create some sort of vortex to avoid moist or particles geting in to the filter and going up the bulb? I removed mine and the car ran better.
Would it not be abvisable to disconnect the battery ? Will this aleviate the need to perform a throttle body relearn ? After carefully following your instructions, this is the position I find myself in. Regards
You could disconnect the battery and it will relearn after you reconnect it and drive for a while if you prefer not to carry out the throttle learning procedure. It might just take a bit longer.
Hi, my micra k12 starts up fine and when in park it’s all good but as soon as I switch gear into drive or reverse the car cuts out( this doesn’t happen all the time sometimes it work and drives fine) Could it be my throttle that needs cleaning out ?
Getting p3000 multiple cylinder misfire. Changed spark plugs and cleaned throttle body as per video. Noticed my throttle body flap is slightly open, is this normal? Car stalled yesterday and wouldn't start, flooded engine. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have followed each step an cleaned my K12 Micra trottle body and map sensor. After running the engine i get a check engine light. When i drove it down 500 meters down the neighbourhood i noticed that the idling was bad too. Break pedal was softening up at some moments. Do you make relearning of the trottle body and map sensor after the clean up?
The first hose disconnected is the brake servo hose - could that have any relevance? To learn the closed throttle body position you’re supposed to turn the ignition on for 10s then off for at least 10s, but then you also have a few more learning steps for the idle and accelerator positions.
@@screwsnutsandbolts It turned out the trottle body needs relearning. My micra is the K12E automatic version. I drove it to a shop and they did a computer relearning. Everything is fine now. I would appreciate if you make a video and show how to replace the aerial console.
My 2005 K12 (1.4 automatic) won't always start, and sometimes it starts and cuts off a split second later. If I do get it going it works fine throughout the journey. I have an engine light and the diagnostic device said P0340 Camshaft position sessor. I've changed both Crankshaft and Map sensors but no luck. Could it be the throttle body that needs cleaning? Or something else?
It could be the wiring to the camshaft sensor is damaged or possibly the timing chain could be stretched among other things. Is there high mileage on the car ?
@@screwsnutsandbolts Thanks for your response, the mileage is 89k, the problem came on suddenly. Going to clean the throttle body to see if that helps.
@@screwsnutsandbolts Turns out the new Crankshaft sensor I bought was dodgy, I got another one and the problem is fixed, i'm really glad it's not the timing chain and thanks for your response. However, I now have an air leak and need to inspect all the pipes, I've been advised to check the vacuum hose ...Not sure which one that it, is the vacuum hose one pipe or is it referred to more than one pipe? I understand it's linked to the breaking system and my car did rev up when I'm breaking to stop at a junction (and then cuts off). Your input will be greatly appreciated. Btw, not driving the vehicle to prevent further damage.
I have a problem with a 2006 Nissan Note 1.4. 226,342 km. In the morning, my car shuts off when I start. Then I stop it for a while, the car starts and drives all day. Does anyone have any advice. They gave spark plugs or should I clean the throttle valve. thank you
If you open the bonnet and turn the ignition key to the 'on' position can you hear the throttle body motor activating ?. It's usually a high pitch followed by a clicking sound
Could a dirty throttle body cause excessive fuel consumption and higher idling? My K12 1400 idles at about 1500 and comes down to the lowest of about 1000-1100rpm. I have replaced MAP sensor as Diag showed it was faulty and car was heavy on fuel (16L/100km). Car computer currently gives fuel consumption at 12,7L/100km for town driving. BTW love your informative channel as I've only had my K12 for about 5 months now and very helpful to see how the car works.
Thanks for watching. A dirty throttle body could possibly cause higher fuel consumption and/or high idle but so could many other issues. It's probably worth checking the throttle plate to see if it's dirty.
Hey pal, nice video! Can i ask you something? Could you please make a complete video about replacing the TIMING BELT and CLUTCH from a PEUGEOT 206? Using the same vehicld you have?. I really need it!
Thanks!

Good day sir, what is the purpose of that 2 screw on the side of the throttle body? Is that for adjustment? Thank you
I think their the idle adjuster screws.

It's hard to say. Is it an automatic transmission ?. It could be caused by low transmission fluid or an issue with the torque converter
@ yes it’s an automatic
Can I use ultrasonic cleaner to do this job?
Just covering the metal parts, not top half black electronics.
I wouldn't advise doing that
@@screwsnutsandbolts ok. Thanks
1:56 what sensor is that?
That's the EVAP purge valve solenoid: ua-cam.com/video/zBWi9J1rWHE/v-deo.html

When you turn the key to the 'on' position, whithout starting the engine, can you hear the throttle body motor moving the flap ?
Have any video about outlet gaskit change
I don't, sorry

Thank you too!

Hi, do the throttle valve positions need to be recalibrated after the cleaning?

No I didn't need to relearn the throttle or map sensor after cleaning them. I don't know how this cleaning could affect your brakes ?

Ahh you're right. It might not be reconnected properly, or leaking somewhere

That's good news. I hope to get around to doing the aerial some stage soon if I can.

Do you need to turn off the battery before the process?
Not as long as you keep the ignition off throughout the process
How can i change the throttle position sensor have problem with that 😔
The TPS is integral with this throttle body so you'll probably have to swap the entire throttle body unit.

The original part number is 16175AX000. If you search for that you should be able to find one on ebay or amazon
