"Urban renewal" is their upscaling of old clothing, often at a high price point, with a lot of complaints that the items the buyers get are entirely different from what's shown in the photo - and the materials being recycled aren't very high quality.
There's a Jacob Starr video where a mysterious corporate buyer buys a warehouse of vintage clothing and the consensus in the comments was that the buyer is UO, acquiring a resource to inspire their contemporary faux vintage quirky or ironic designs. So, you might as well buy vintage from a meet or an on-line reseller to get the designs which they're imitating, while printed on the stronger, sturdier weighted material vintage shirts are known for. I've bought some UO pieces when they've had heavy markdown sales, but I don't I'd ever do that again.

def overpriced but Im not surprised. I remember seeing their vintage stuff on their website a few years ago and the prices were pretty similar still. Definitely better prices at a thrift or an actual curated vintage store. However, those curated vintage store prices get crazy as well huh? Do you think that the demand for vintage clothing is at an all-time high? I don't think that the market will ever go away but it seems to me that the younger fashion generation is more accepting of vintage clothing nowadays.
