This piece was composed upon commission from Oliver Rathje of Australia.
It was dedicated as a token of gratitude from Oliver and The Sydney Mandolin Orchestra to Fiona Horbach, leader of the orchestra, and Werner Ruecker, the conductor and musical director.
The composition was structured to convey a nostalgic and longing feeling at the beginning, transitioning into a more optimistic and hopeful mood by the end, as per the request for a piece with a story-like, varied composition.
