For twenty odd years I've wanted to try Kendo, but there have been no dojos in my area. Now one is starting, and in less than a fortnight I finally get to try it. I love the etiquette and tradition of the whole thing. Very Zen.

I'm now eight or nine sessions in, and though at times it's information overload and I have trouble with remembering some of the Japanese terminology, I'm really enjoying it. It's hard, but I feel I'm getting a lot out of it in return for the ffort I'm putting in. Great stuff!

@laughinggravy I know what you mean. It's almost suffering at times, pushing your limits, but once you understand and start controling a move, a strike, and hear a positive comment and advice from your sensei or senpai, it's the most amazing feeling in the world. It's definitely not just physical training, your character evolves as well.
