- Delayed for whatever reason several weeks ago, the 'Penn Central Pack' for Train Sim Classic is now here. Containing 10 scenarios for the VNHRR, several locomotives as well as rolling stock via many, many forms of the 'mating snakes' logos/patches.

If anybodys wondering…yes, the PC pack will be supported by my EMD 567 EP in the future. I don’t intend to buy the pack but I’m looking for community members who are willing to share me the audio directories for the engines so I can pump out an update as quickly as possible.

@@colbylawson5331 NAVS deserves all the credit for mixing the engine audio samples originally for Open Rails. I just scripted them for use in TS Classic

If you want the whole story, and I do mean the WHOLE story of Penn Central, the podcast "Well There's Your Problem" did a massive 3-part series on it, 4 parts including the bonus episode on New York Penn Station, totalling roughly 10 hours of content.
Good god above that tank car looks like it was made by a beginner as a practice model! It's baffling that people still say "oH y'AlL jUsT aReN't HaPpY wItH aNyThInG" when stuff like that is being released.

What a review man, I couldn't stop watching...like when the neighbors house catches on fire and you stay to the end..the fire trucks and neighbors finally leave and your standing there shaking your head. And you say to yourself ..wow this morning there was a house there. And now...it's just a pile of wet stanky, burnt timber.

Something that's always bugged me about the roling stock from dtm is that use the exact same sounds. Like the Open Rails rolling stock sounds.
At least we have Searchlight Simulations, and developers such as Fanrailer and CentralJerseyRailfan.

I would have rather them make an all new GEVO Tier 4 Pack which is another missing piece as it would fit on most modern US routes in my opinion. I will get this in a sale and only if I need it for a base pack.

I’m not a fan of Stuart Saunders president of Penn Central. He was the previous president of Norfolk and Western and was the reason steam ended on the N&W. I think steam locomotives would have lasted possible into the late 60’s if he hadn’t became the president. After he screwed up the Norfolk and Western he was elected president of Penn Central and he was the reason Pennsylvania Station was razed to make way for an underground Penn Station. Those tank cars looks like they are from the early days of TS!
Butane and a lighter will fix this pack right up.

I wish I could say I'm surprised, but what passes DTG anymore is rarely ever of actual quality now. One must got to Railworks America, Golden Age, Machine Rail, really anywhere other than DTG to get quality content for Railworks anymore. This pack was pitiful, something I would've expected nearly 10 years ago as freeware on RWA. The lettering, while crisply drawn, is way too vibrant. The locomotives are outdated by a long shot. Even with decent sound mods, I find replayability low when compared to 3rd party content being made today.

This dlc is just disgusting. I'm really trying to give DTM a chance here, but I can't keep giving chances if this is the kind of shit they're going to keep releasing. This is why so many people "complain" about TSC dlcs. The funny part is die hard fans of DTM and DTG take our honest criticisms as "complaints" and tell us to not buy content if we don't like it. I hate when they say that. It gets annoying to have to hear DTM supporters try to back up and excuse DTMs horrible content. Yeah I don't like the dlc and I don't have to buy it. While it is true I don't have to buy it if I don't like it, it's the principle. If you're a third party dev, and you're charging players 19.99 with taxes for shitty dlcs like this, then you need to quit and find some other job to work at because other third-party devs can come up with pristine content that doesn't look like something a 5 year old made on Roblox. Searchlight Simulations, Smokebox, MachineRail, Just Trains, Diesel Workshop, VRC, Reppo, Armstrong Powerhouse, Bossman Games, Skyhook Games, RSSLO, Virtualrailroads, Romantic Railroads, Master Key Simulations, and other Pro Range TP creators, can make locomotives in perfect, pristine, and authentic quality and realism. Whatever happened to the U50 DTM? What happened to quality and realism? Did you guys forget about that? Or was it too much to ask for?
