Saaame! I just used what I had. Lol. I made my own handles with hot glue, too. If you catch it while it's warm enough, you can mold the grip to your hand with a tight squeeze!
@@juzahyodo3706my first crochet hook was a 5 mm plastic one from a crochet kit 😀 the yarn was like 100% wool (knitters yarn) and was the size as your average acrylic yarn. it needed a 3 - 2.5 hook
I gasped and said “I need it!” to every item in this video, but when I tell you I melted from the cuteness of the amigurumi sticks?!? I’ve never seen or heard of anything like that but it’s such a perfect idea and they look ADORABLE?!? (They made me think of the little decorative pick things you can find in bento box kits for decorating your food, but for plushies! 🥰)
There is a hand cranked version of the electric yarn winder that I found that is $20 on Amazon. The hand cranking isn’t much harder than the electric version, as the crank is designed easy to use and one full crank spins the yarn around about 5-10 times. The only downside is the clip thing that holds it to the table MUST be used on stone countertops of some type, as I had to learn the hard way it will eat into wood. It also is very squeaky, even though it’s well oiled. Mine has served me well though, and is 100x easier than making balls of yarn entirely by hand
I really wanna get into crocheting, I watched my grandma do it all the time as a kid and never thought to ask her to teach me. She’s passed now so I can’t learn from her anymore. But I’d love to learn to slightly continue it for her if that makes sense
If you can afford it, the Woobles taught me how to crochet. I learned my base skills and then used free tutorials to build on my skills. The price of a Wooble includes access to help from an experienced crocheter and a help forum. You can check out craft stores near you. Some hold classes. Cultural centres sometimes hold classes too. I understand wanting to preserve your grandmother's legacy. I do the same thing. Good luck!
When you have your yarn in that cake take the inner end of the yarn. That way you do not need a yand holder, it stays put while it unravels from the inside.
those amigurumi sticks are just knitting needles.. as a knitter and a crocheter for years.. I can do without the sticks cause i like having as much space as possible for my knits.. -but the yarn winder, is what I am keeping my eyes on.
I have psoriatic arthritis and severe carpal tunnel. Hand winding is no longer an option for me. Not everyone is physically capable to hand wind be it due to health or coordination reasons.
I am starting to crochet to make blankets and plushy for me and I never knew that they made things so thank you for giving this out to everyone if they also want to crochet❤
I think all those things are unnecessary but they help out if you don’t have much time. I know how to knit and crochet and I do everything by myself but maybe that yarn winder would help me out, but a manual version might be cheaper
if you cant get a yarn holder, but struggle with the yarn always rolling around, you should try getting the yarn beginning from the middle. one end is outside, the other is inside. you can get it out through one of the two holes. its usually a little clump, but not knotted
As someone who has tried and is still failing (and possibly giving up) to do the starting crochet stitch, I have no use for these but I still want them all
Work at a local yarn store. They 100% are double pointed needles with "point protectors" (aka silicone focal beads) on them. A bunch of people come in to get the stuff to make their own.
been crocheting over 6 years, you don’t need any of this except a yarn winder (manual works just as well), and the amigurumi sticks might be nice if you crochet mostly amigurumi. What you DO need is plain metal hair clips. I write the name/brand/weight on the clips and use them to secure the loose end of the yarn to the yarn cake so that the cakes don’t unravel in whatever bag or bin they end up in
i just got a yarn winder and i feel like it winds it up faster than i could by hand. worth it because im making a blanket. so im going to go through a lot of yarn and use up alot of yarn . i suspect. i also havent used my yarn for ages. so im glad to finally use it for something. :D so ill have alot of yarn to wind up. thankfully i wont have to do it by hand anymore. next is a yarn holder. oh and i just got some stich markers for my blanket to remind my self to add the extra stitch that i kept dropping. and was ending up witha tree like blanket. took most of it out. now its looking like a blanket. :D i have a ways to go through to get it back to the amount i was at. sometimes you win some and lose some.
I need to get an electric one. I have a manual one which doesn’t work the best as it was cheap and it takes time to wind it up with the handle when the electric one seems so nice.
They're useful if you've taken enough of the centre out that the yarn is collapsing, or if it's been frogged and you need to wind it back up. (Or if you're using the fancier yarns that only come in hanks, but I don't think that's entirely relevant here)
then you don’t need the yarn holder- i crochet using one pound skeins that collapse and lose shape about 400 yards in, so i need to wind it into balls to use it.
As someone who knits, I should get the 1st and 4th one. I didn’t know there were things that make yarn into yarn cakes (probably really expensive though)
That yarn holder would be so nice 😭 I end up trying to pull a string from the middle hole coz then I can just pull and it won't unravel as awkwardly but it so hard to grab that thread in some yarn skeins so this would save me all that hassle 😭😭😭
What makes this funny is I saw the actual video, sent it to my bestfriend, came back and now I'm on a good luck charlie reel where the mom bribed one of the kids to make pancakes😂😂 (the video is good luck charlie the comments and everything else is the crochet video)
A YARN HOLDER IS A THING??!!!!! I want to cry all my problems have been solved, I hate having to tug on the yarn to get a bit more. It’s such a minor thing but when you crochet for a long time it’s just a little thing that constantly given you like -1 pt happiness. A tiny quality of life improvement but it makes me sooo happy to know there is a fix
I don't understand the point of a yarn holder when you have already made your center-pull balls. Why would you go through the trouble of winding your yarn into cakes if you're then going to pull from the outside of the ball?
I dont have money- soooo... I made a make shift yarn holder in the past which is a giant super long chopstick, and wedge it in between the large drawer infront of me and then shove the yarn onto the stick, and find whatever i can shove to like.. Keep the yarn plugged in 😅 Its cheap looking.. But hey it works! 😂
the way i gasped when i saw the hooks?? they’re so pretty!!
ikr :)))
I’m in love with them too 😍
They might be pretty, but more pretty useless. You want hooks that are ergonomically formed and are not slippery in your hands.
Not me thinking u said books
@@wallyjansen898they wouldnt be showing the hooks off to us if they weren’t ergonomic and user friendly.
For the yarn holder, I just use a kitchen roll holder lmao. It’s pretty much the exact same product :)
Percent and probably cheaper!
I do this, too. 6 bucks at TjMaxx and only 1.25 at the Dollar Tree!
Nice!!
Smart!!! 😊😊😊

4 Things I Don’t Regret Buying As A Crocheter:
1- Crochet Hook
2- Yarn
3- Instructions
4- Pizza because I was hungry after thinking about work

I don’t even use a hook, u just use my finger lol
i feel like the hooks would kill my hands😭
I’ve never had a problem with them! They are no different than any other hooks with grips and they are adorable 🥰 but that’s my experience :)

Is no one talking about the adorable amigurumi buneary?? So cute she used to be my fav Pokémon!
Also yes the crochet tools look really useful!
Ik it’s so cuteee
I was looking to see if I was the only one, it’s literally so adorable!!!!!!
Finally someone noticed buneary
what's the stitch called for the white cotton bit?
I've been under a rock, of all the crochet content I watch which is alot never seen an electric yarn winder. Of course I need one.
i was actually considering the yarn holder a few months ago… then i discovered the center pull 😂😂
Im surprised you havent blown up yet! Your crochet work is stunning!
Aww thank you so much! It means a lot 🥹

I find that gluing some silicone coasters I had lying around solves the issue with the clamp. Hope this helps someone.
Hand cranked all the way! With how many knots or splits I come across while winding, I can't imagine trying to yurn the winder on and off so much.
My grandma came over and she said her 4 things are yarn, a hook, safety eyes and stuffing I’m crying 😭
Why is UA-cam recommending me crocheting videos, i don’t even crochet😂 i guess it’s a sign to start crocheting🤔
Do it! Welcome to the next amazing era of your LIIIIIFE. lol. Seriously tho.
You should try! It'll be so fun
That's how I started 😂

Ooo I could totally upcycle some chopsticks instead of buying amigurumi sticks

Look up some tutorials and get yourself a regular size 4 yarn and a H size crochet hook or 5mm and learn from that. Start simple and build up

Start with The Woobles kit. Has everything you need for a beginner crocheter.
When you have your yarn in that cake take the inner end of the yarn. That way you do not need a yand holder, it stays put while it unravels from the inside.
thank you! 😂 makes no sense to make it into a cake and then don't use it like it's supposed to be used lmao...waste of time and money.
Whenever I wind a cake on my £8 winder, I reattach the yarn label, but vertically so that the label "locks" the outer cake from unravelling.
When I first learned how to crochet in 2011 (I was 16), it was not nearly as cool as it is now! So nice to see how popular it has become!
Yoooo that electric ball winder 😍😍 that would save my poor hands….. 🤣 I need that thing in my life!
Im ordering the amigurumi hooks and wearing them in my hair. 😂 so adorable ❤
those amigurumi sticks are just knitting needles.. as a knitter and a crocheter for years.. I can do without the sticks cause i like having as much space as possible for my knits.. -but the yarn winder, is what I am keeping my eyes on.
The amigurumi sticks, im probs gonna use them to knit lol
Basically these are the things you don't need.👏🏻 Thankyou so much for sharing this
Thanks for the ideas 😃
I LOVE LITTLE GEMS SHE IS SO UNDERRATED
Omg I NEED THE YARN HOLDER❤❤
Look up magnetic yarn holder on Amazon! 💕💕
I have 1 and 4, I love using them it truly makes crocheting so much easier
I need all of them except for 3 bc my hooks pretty and shiny 😇
That last one was amazing!!
That buneary is beautiful
Thank you! I’m working on writing the pattern for it :)
My biggest flex is that i can make a yarn cake that looks machine made without a machine 🦾
The way i need it all. Omg the yarn holder
Me and my mum (im 14) get s plain hook and get some claye and design our own hooks😊
The yarn holder is such a game changer. The magnet makes it spin with basically no friction, so you don't have to yank every few stitches
You can use crochet hooks as the amigurumi sticks! I use the smaller ones to pin items in place. :)
I had no reason for wanting an electric yarn winder but then you showed that magnetic yarn holder and now I’m sold on both💗
In my opinion rolling your own yarn with your hands builds character and is a nice way to work your wrist s!!
I have psoriatic arthritis and severe carpal tunnel. Hand winding is no longer an option for me. Not everyone is physically capable to hand wind be it due to health or coordination reasons.
I need a yarn holder 😅
Yard holder. Wow. So much better than a coffee can.😂
Gonna need that yarn holder and yarn winder asap
I have the same yarn holder it’s seriously SUCH a lifesaver. I have ocd about my yarn touching the floor and it’s perfect lol. I’m in love with it.
i knit and the first one and last would be PERFECT for me!😍

I was expecting a “Yarn obviously! How do you crochet without yarn!”
You can also use knitting stick as a amigurumi stick
There’s an electric version! Man I been self winding for months for hours to make cakes, to point of arm tiredness and soreness. 😂
