Logan Gardner I would like u to talk to that man that talks about New York racking and how the sports dying !! I would like to buy a pair of pigeons please answer back if ya can thanks god bless
This is a great story! Thanks for sharing, Eric. My father is from Altoona, PA! I’ve been there many times. You might be interested in my Raystown documentary on my channel. Go check it out!
Logan Gardner I also raise 4 birds inside as *pets* they sleep in my bed with my dogs, and are inside at all times, if they are out its on harness and with me. I love pigeons .it's a magnificent greatly animal we are privileged to meet, people who don't like them are unsure in there own self and mostly not good people
I live in southeastern PA and have always loved pigeons. My great grandfather had a coop on their farm back in the day, I kind of want to get in on this.
Good video, I had always wondered as the older generations slowly move on and out the sport, who in the next generation would become legends in the sport?
I love your short documentary. When I was about 15 y/o I started this hobby in the Philippines. It was the "in" thing back then for young teenagers. There was no club that I know of back then so the purpose was to raise them & just enjoy them hover around our family compound. On occasion I would take them out for a few miles on my bike & release them in the morning and they'll be home by late afternoon. I laughed at your description of feral pigeons that we see in cities and how they shouldn't be compared to the Homing pigeon that are bred for the sport. Now I just remembered taking home a pair of wedding pigeons from my uncle's wedding, I guess they're called doves. I tried to cross-breed the white dove with a homer; I don't recall being able to but I did witness a pair of my homers laying 2 eggs. As a young teen seeing those eggs hatch was an amazing experience. Is it true that pigeons are very sociable? Because during our time it was common knowledge that if you own a flock of these homers, sometimes they tend to attract random pigeons on their way home. I remember one time I saw an "intruder" pigeon inside my loft. He must be lost or something. :)
Great video! Loved it... Short, sweet and to the point, although very informative! There's nothing better than breeding and flying your own birds in a competitive scenario such as with club and combine races.. And then, there's always the nice One Loft Futurity races. Oh yeah!.. Sooo much fun indeed! ;-)
ausfuhrpramienjagar thanks so much! Check out my other videos and subscribe for more content! I will be covering a new pigeon race in April. Remember to subscribe for that(:
But thank you so much for putting up this video and told her about New York city flyers on one of those New York City Flyers are used to fly in the Bronx in the corner of 1/83 and Davison Avenue I was flying for night what a good 10 years and it's true you lose interest now I'm 50 years old and I'm going back to my old ways flying home to Bridget taught my children the responsibility to take care of them so far so good I have a 28-year-old son and he is also flying home pigeons remember My Italian friends Frank cookie Mike what are those old people that taught me how to fly and I think you very much and also thank you for putting up these videos.
i really want to try this kind of sport. i do have pigeons but they are not good enough for long distance races., and we dont have club near in our area yet to join. i wish i had pigeons like your grandpa.. sorry for my english..
Im hooked but couple of questions how do the pigeons know where to go and go wandering rather than heading home? Also how do i start ? Im in scotland 🏴 uk 🇬🇧 i know it was alot known in 90s but dont know where to start
Start by building a nice loft.....there are a lot of designs.....so I would buy a good book on the subject....after that look for a club closest to you and you can join and get a lot of advice.....but do a ton of research and decide what family of birds you want to fly.....they come home because you have built them a comfortable secure loft and give them good food with plenty of fresh water....that's kept clean and sanitized regularly....a good video to watch is titled " Little Ripper- Pigeon Racing Documentary"
But thank you so much for putting up this video and told her about New York city flyers on one of those New York City Flyers are used to fly in the Bronx in the corner of 1/83 and Davison Avenue I was flying for night what a good 10 years and it's true you lose interest now I'm 50 years old and I'm going back to my old ways flying home to Bridget taught my children the responsibility to take care of them so far so good I have a 28-year-old son and he is also flying home pigeons remember My Italian friends Frank cookie like one of those old people that taught me how to fly and I think you very much and also thank you for putting up these videos

Thanks for the video. I think it would have been better if the background noise was much quieter or not at all. The pigeon's cooing would have sounded better, to me.
It's not a dying sport anymore I wouldn't say that. Good for pigeon and pigeon lovers pigeon prices on more than I have ever been one bird was sold for 1.4 million dollars I think in China.
+Cream Soda ASMR CSA thanks for your inquiry! One thing you can do is look to see if you have any local racing clubs. That would be a great place to start. Maybe start off with getting just a small set up with few pigeons. That way it's not overwhelming and overly cost worthy. You can find pigeons online at trading websites. But if you want more information please visit the links in the description to get you started! ☺️ thanks so much, remember to subscribe and share!
Theres plenty of clubs here in the twin cities just got to look around or try facebook, I’m not part of one but I do own a lot of racing homer and participate in oneloft races
You want to know why kids are not interested Pigeon racing because it's heart breaking you make them Fly with no food or water because they're expected that you're going to give them food and water while they're up in the Sky

I've been racing pigeons since the mid 80's in Altoona, PA. I still like watching them come home from the races.
