My carpets literally glued to the floor so the only thing that i can do is slowly watch it rot before my eyes and darken in color as days go by... I can never manage to clean it 100%
Don't do this in an apartment . U will flood the people under you, tile grout lets water through !! I do this in the bathtub. I start with putting one end in and clean that and gradually clean inwards , at the end the whole rug is in the tub. Then start rinsing the end u just finished and move backwards brushing out the water from it , filling up the floor with the clean rug. then I would suggest jumping on it with clean rags and hanging it outside
This is a good workout session plus the carpet gets cleaned. Had a similar carpet in my childhood, it was huge and my family used to wash it like that before Easter, Christmas and other occasions. It was so awesome to help, I love washing carpets to this day.
This is terrific. I live in a large NY apt building. At this moment I've decided to take my rug to the roof top and scrub it there. After that I'm going to leave it to dry in the sun (I'm not worried about fading or bird droppings).
I bring the rug outside, buff it or brush it with a lot of shampoo then raise it with clean water then dry it by expose it to sun at least 1 or 2 days otherwise I feel it's not clean at all .. sorry mam I can't do what you did

what detergent did you use and how much
Any liquid detergent u can use and quantity depends upon the sizes and dirty of carpet. I use one cup in one bucket water.
