@@PuppyLambs thank you for pointing that out, I didn’t know this. Apparently Procreate is displaying the reference in the same size as your canvas, so it looks really low resolution. I will email Savage and let them know. I almost never use the reference window in Procreate as I find it a bit clunky. Instead I use two apps, depending on what I need: VizRef and DrawRef. VizRef is great for multiple references at once. DrawRef is great for a single reference and because it is free. Also with DrawRef you can swipe the little window to the side of the screen to put it away temporarily.
@@IttaiManero thank you so much for answering! This was very helpful. I will check out those other apps you mentioned in the meantime. Cheers :)

I really love how easy your tutorial is! I don't have any desire to make pixel art at this time but if I wanted to, I could because your instructions are so easy to follow. Great work! Btw, do you have a video explaining alpha lock and also how to shade?
Thank you, Jules A! I usually don’t do videos about specific features in Procreate, since there are lots and lots of those kind of tutorials on UA-cam already. Check out this excellent tutorial by @ghostpaper, for example: ua-cam.com/video/jZNXg_2fU5Q/v-deo.html

I tried your free brush pack, and I'm so in love with It! It was my first time trying pixel art, and I want to do more! I would like to get the Full pack, but it's a shame that I'm Brazilian, and dolar or euro it's too expensive for me. Thanks for your support 😊✨
This is an amazing tutorial tysm! I’m wondering, can I use your brushes for works other than personal use? And and I allowed to duplicate your brush and make a new brush from it?
Hi, thank you for the kind words. You can use my brushes for personal and/or commercial projects. Of course you can duplicate any of my brushes and adjust them to your liking, and then use that modified brush to create personal or commercial art. But you can not resell or redistribute any of my brushes, even if they are modified. Modifying a brush will still mantain the logo and signature of the original creator. Alright, thank you so much for replying! :)@@IttaiManero
@@piiect no worries!
Thanks for the tips :) very helpful
I have also another question, I loved the font that you used in video. What is the name of the font?
It’s a pixel art font I downloaded from the Internet forever ago, sorry I have no idea where I got it. But if you google pixel art font you can find many.
Thanks :) I used an online font user AI and took screenshot from video and found a free font that looks like your font. It's name is "Pet me 128" @@IttaiManero
So helpful, thank you😍! And what about pixel font? Any suggestion?
Thank you! True pixel fonts aren’t possible in Procreate at the moment, due to how the text feature works in Procreate. Any pixel fonts imported into Procreate will have some kind of anti-aliasing that is unavoidable. You have two options: you can draw your text pixel by pixel for true pixel art text, or you can wait until you enlarge your art in the final step and then use a pixel-looking font that will do the trick (but the pixels in the font will probably not have the same size as the pixels in your art). I personally prefer to draw my texts manually pixel by pixel.
@@IttaiManero Ah ok, I see. Thanks again for the explanation!
I think i discovered a flaw in your brushes. Customer shows up to buy 1, sees the others, can't decide which to buy. Stuck in endless decision loop. lol
I've narrowed it down to the pixel brush + the stippling brush, or the pixel brush + the crosshatching brush. Then at a later date the comic stuff just for learning.
Is that a flaw or a good sign? Hahahha Thank you so much, I appreciate it 🙏
Hey! Just bought your brush set and am having a troubling time getting them imported onto procreate, what is the best way to go about doing this!
Hello, thanks for your support! You can click on the file once you have it in the files app and it will import automatically in Procreate. Feel free to email me at ittaimanero@gmail.com if you need further assistance 😊
you can also click the "+" on brushes then click import and select the pack you downloaded
Cool video, how can i get these brushes please
Thanks! Here’s the link: ittaimanero.gumroad.com/l/ThePixelArtExperience
Pixaki has proper nearest neighbour rotation, (without interpolation) fyi. This has been requested on Procreate forums for years but seems like they don't really care. (which is weird since actual interpolation while rotation is an "additional" process)
Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I just went ahead and purchased Pixaki to check that out by myself, and I found that rotating to any other degree different than 90º messes up the pixels no matter what you do. I think this is unavoidable in any pixel-based program because the software has to recalculate the position of every pixel, resulting in deformation. I personally don’t see any difference between rotating in pixel art in Procreate using Nearest Neighbor and rotating in Pixaki.
hey, i really like your brush pack but for some reason when i save the art it is blurry. is there any fix?
Hi, yes, you need to follow the steps for exporting that I explain in this video (around minute 6) or in the included PDF.
Wow we have the same surname MANERO
Hahahha, nice! 😄
Which brush do you use to paint the base color?
Hi, it’s not a brush, I’m just color filling the canvas. If you grab the color circle in the top right corner, drag it and release it on the canvas, it will fill it with your current color.
@@IttaiManero thank thank you 🙏🏽 @ittaimanero . I’m interested if you have paid tutorials on Pixels… especially isometrics on Procreate. I appreciate all of quality you provide in your content ✨✨⭐️

Good to know! 😃
When I draw with the pixel brush it always leaves faded edges along the path like the brush is not 100% opaque. If I draw a curved line the edges will be faded pixels but if I draw a straight line the brush will work. Any way to fix the faded parts?
Hello! This is very strange, as you can see in the video, it never happens to me, and I’ve never heard of this issue with this brush set before. Would you be so kind to record a short video of the issue and send it to me so I can have a closer look? You can email me to ittaimanero@gmail.com Thank you!
Hi I’d like to ask where is the pixel art brushes?
Hello, here’s the link: ittaimanero.gumroad.com/l/ThePixelArtExperience
Whenever I try to use the 1px brush, it's super small, do i need a different canvas size?
Hi ZYX, what canvas size are you currently using?
I am using the 2160×1620 or 2048x2048
@@zyx5143 that's way too big for a pixel art canvas. If you read the guidebook included with the brushes or follow this video tutorial, you will see that for pixel art illustrations, working on smaller canvases is needed. I put the example of working on 200 by 300 for a pixel art illustration. Obviously you can choose any size you want, but you need to have in mind that the bigger the canvas, the smaller the pixels will look. If you want to have really big pixels, then use even smaller canvases. It all depends on what you want to do pixel art of. A pixel art character could be done on a 16 by 16 canvas, 32 by 32, 64 by 64...Feel free to experiment while having this in mind.
I was wondering if you could tell me how to download the brushes? When I get to the screen it doesn’t show anything to download. I love your brushes and I would love to use them in a game I am going to make in scratch!
Hello, can you email me with more details? A detailed description of the issue, screenshots and/or a short video showing the issue would help. My email is ittaimanero@gmail.com
@@IttaiManero I have sent you a email with screenshots of the page. I hope it’s just a mild misunderstanding of where to download the brushes.
@@Bumblebeereekshavoc thank you for the screenshots, I’ve just replied to your email. I’m going to paste my response here in case somebody else reads this and also needs help:

@@Bumblebeereekshavoc happy to help! 😊
Amazing tutorial and the brush pack has been so helpful! one thing - I was trying to animate, and when I did the trick to fit the canvas to the bigger size, it did a super weird thing. It only expanded my first layer, and all the following layers were merged down in the corner of the first layer. On the screen, it said I had all my layers, but visually it looked the same as my first one. Sorry my explanation isn't the best, but I'm just really confused about why this happened - does anyone know what I may have done wrong? Also before I could undo it, the app crashed :/ so maybe procreate just glitched out and couldn't handle expanding it?
Thanks for your kind words!
About the issue, did you select all your layers by swiping to the right on each of them before expanding? There shouldn’t be any reason for Procreate to crash when resizing the content of the layers after you have already set the new canvas size.
@@IttaiManero Yes, I swiped all the layers and followed the steps you showed in the video
@@sanj3706 I see. Well, since the app crashed, it could have been just a normal crash that had nothing to do with what you were doing. Have you tried it again and see how it goes?
@@IttaiManero yeah, I made a little test file and it worked fine as you said. just a little disheartened that it did that on my project file. Thank you for your help though and your tutorial/brushes have been so useful as I said before!!
@@sanj3706 It’s always a good idea to duplicate your project in Procreate’s gallery before doing any important changes, that way you’ll always have a backup in case anything goes wrong. Keep on creating! 🙏😊
Could this be used to create 2d game assets??
Of course! Check out my other pixel art tutorials, I have a tutorial for tileset creation and another for top down character walking animation
How do I make it so that the pixels I draw line up perfectly with the grid? Idk how to explain but when I draw a pixel, it’s in the middle of 2 pixels on the grid
Try opening the grid settings, click on the blue dot and a reset button will show up, then click that. It is possible that for some reason your grid moved. This should fix it :) let me know if it works!
@@IttaiManero I just tried that, but nothing changed ):
@@IttaiManero ah I fixed it. Realised I could move the grid manually, thanks a lot for the quick response! :D
@@pixie7103 could you send me the procreate file by email to ittaimanero@gmail.com? I’ll be happy to have a deeper look and see what’s happening :)
@@pixie7103 oh cool! My second guess was going to be that maybe your canvas size wasn’t in pair numbers (like if for example it was 101 pixels wide instead of 100). Could that be the case?
Te han quedado muy bien pero me gustaria saber como lo has hecho
Gracias! Cómo he hecho qué cosa?
I can not fill the resized canvas without getting the image blurry :( I am sure I followed all steps but it does not work. Any ideas?
Hey Tom! Is your interpolation set to Nearest Neighbor in the transform tool before making the image fit the new canvas size? Having the interpolation set to a different setting is the only thing that can make your image blurry after transforming it. If that is not the case, feel free to send me the procreate file at ittaimanero@gmail.com and I will have a look for you! 😊
@@IttaiManero Done, thank you.
Can I use procreate to make sprites?
Yes, you can! I have this other video about it: ua-cam.com/video/vwgacGe-ei0/v-deo.html
@@IttaiManero oh wow thank you so much, this helps a lot cause I really like using my Apple Pencil instead of a mouse on the computer 😁

Hi, is the Interpolation set to Nearest Neighbor before expanding it like I show in the video?
@@IttaiManero Hello, thanks for replying… uhmm What’s interpolation and Nearest Neighbor? Thanks🥰
@@Azulathedawg when you use the transform tool, in the menu below there’s an option called Interpolation, you need to change it to Nearest Neighbor. You can see that more clearly in the PDF that is included with the brushes, that explains step by step how to export your pixel art
@@IttaiManero Thank you, Thank you!!! Alright I’ll do it…
@@Azulathedawg no problem! 👍😊
Does this work with Procreate pocket? :)
Yes! 😊 Have in mind that in Procreate Pocket there is no pressure sensitivity because it’s iPhone and not iPad, so brushes that change size with pressure would not work as intended. But that is just like one or two brushes in the whole set.
@@IttaiManeroThank you :D

Hi, have you enlarged the canvas before exporting like I explain in this video?
@@IttaiManeroWhen i‘ve done the first step with enlarging the canvas, it says „Maximum number of levels exceeded“
@@luisarothe9317 how large are you trying to make it? Depending on your iPad model there’s a limit. Try choosing a more moderate size and if it still says that it is too big, keep lowering bit by bit and see how big you can make it.
