What a wonderful tutorial. You took a chance to go outside of what they said. Sometimes, I think it has to do with spending more money when we should be able to use what we have. Thank you for your tutorial and time.
Thank you.. Oh my. I always try to find new ways to use my supplies but this can be dangerous! For now, because these are brand new items, I really really can't say that is 100% safe to use glimmer plates or clean the metallic press plates with a surgical spirit not even with a dam cloth (as water won't clean the ink but can affect the metal) The risks of experimenting are real and I embrace them but as I mentioned in the video Spellbinder's advice is NOT to use hot plates with the Betterpress. Press plates deboss the paper and they are overall 100% nicer to do letterpress :) hugs.
Bibi I love this video and had to chuckle when you said you were being “naughty” by using glimmer plates in your Betterpress! I have watched this video multiple times and want to use my glimmer plates also! I wish I could give you multiple thumbs up for this video, I enjoy it so much! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much for experimenting with the Better Press, Bibi, and showing us what can be done with it in addition to using it as a letter press machine! Great video, much appreciated. I just got my Better Press today, so will be experimenting over the weekend with it!
Spectacularly impressive job and hands down the most information & testing done on this product! Your video was easy to understand, detailed, Informative and thoroughly entertaining. I especially like the tips with how to stop double image and how to stop getting ink on your magnetic plate - I certainly will use these tips when my BetterPress arrives. I also appreciate your sharing all your test results in this video which will help us get better results and make use not only of this machine but also our supplies we own. Looking forward to your next video.
I just finished watching the video and I changed my mind - this is THE best review of the better press! Using it as a stamping tool and as a stencil holder is brilliant!
Wow, this was such a useful tutorial, Bibi. Thank you! I can’t wait for mine to arrive, which will hopefully happen in a couple of days. I am extremely curious as to how other Archival inks by Ranger might work with the BetterPress, because I can already tell I will want a lot more color options.
Bibi, my machine is arriving today, and I was planning to get out a level to check the differences in depth from the glimmer and betterpress plates. I was definitely planning to be naughty and give it a try! 🤣
I think we all are thinking the same 🙃 Do not forget to remove the 3 shims and remember Spellbinders advice to NOT use the glî’er plates . eventhought it might work it seems that in long term this can cause damage🤷🏻♀️
Love experimenting videos! Thank you for taking the time... I've been experimenting too and found that Ranger Archival inks work very well and they come in the EXACT SAME CONTAINER as the SB ink pads... of course Ranger make them too, so I guess it shouldn't be a huge surprise! Watercolor paper seems to work very well. The hardest part for me is the fact that you're printing a mirror image! My brain is adverse to that concept...so this is challenging. Hoping someone comes up with a solution... I want to print sentiments directly on the paper...do NOT want to use one of those shadows...I dislike them. But figuring out exactly where the sentiment goes and making sure it's not upside down or backwards is hard....for me!
such great tips, Bibi! you really experimented with your BetterPress!
Thank you, Bibi! THIS is what I've been waiting to see!!!! ;)
You are a genius, best BetterPress video I’ve seen!
