Over the years I have found that carry many sets of old school wool liner works best. Some with and some without fingers. They are easy to rotate out, clean, dry, fix and will keep your hands warm when wet. You can customize the cut length on the fingers as well. By using some w/o fingers over ones that have fingers will increase the warmth w/o hinder dexterity of the fingers.. I keep a gat set of mittens to shove my hands in when they get real cold but wool usually does the job.
Over the past few years, 'brand new' repeat 'brand new' Outdoor Research, AGS Firebrand Mitts and Gloves have been surfacing in the surplus market. Why is this and are these mitts and gloves any good?
I can't answer that for sure. But check them out and if the price is right buy them if they work for your need. It could be the DoD had to many or updated to new gear specs > www.army.mil/article/264325/arctic_angels_equipped_with_newest_extreme_cold_weather_gear
My hands and feet rarely get cold uncomfortable sometimes but not truly cold. I usually wear silk socks underneath wool socks and 99% of the time just regular mechanic/ tactical keep me comfortably cool. I carry cold weather gloves and gear in my pack or butt pack. Semper Fidelis
Thank you bro, really appreciate that. Just trying to do what I can to keep guys alive with the right cold weather gear. So I pretty much took each of those gloves in the video for my own set to have in my kit once it gets colder.
If I purchase a L Size Cold Weather Glove. Do you recommend that the MGS Insulated Liner and the MGS Shell should be purchased as XL? Whenever using the Liner Glove?
If possible try to first go with the liner size and shell size the same. But you could cheat a little perse, for example if the same liner and shell size was not available then you would be ok going up one size bigger on the shell. Hopefully this makes sense.
@@winter_warfare good ol ft. Irwin? That's only about an hour and a half from here. Faster if I cut through china lake property to the backside of Irwin lol
Good to see that jacket on someone. In the pics on their site it looks kind of small and restrictive. I also like in the pic where the guy modeling that jacket looks like he is doing the Ukrainian Azov salute.
