If anyone is reading this comment, Piece of advice! When exporting the OBJ. file, make sure the scale is "m" and not "mm" . I made this mistake which caused the mesh to not appear on blender, so if you are having this same problem, heres the solution !! EDIT: Another addition: Whenever I combined the nude mesh and the MD mesh , the UV map of the MD mesh got all messed up. Here's the solution: First make sure both meshes are separated . Now, go to the MD mesh, and go to the upside down triangle, and then press Tab . Then press either uv_1 or uv_0 . In uv_1 my uv map was correct but in uv_0 it was damaged . Now go to the nude mesh , and check the same thing . When I went to uv_1 the texture got all messed up , but it was ok in uv_0 . So all you need to do is to change the name of uv_0 to uv_1 and vice versa, and then make sure uv_0 (now renamed to uv_1) is the one you have selected. And then you can press control + j !! Basically they have to match
Please read if it's your first time creating! I don't know if my comment didn't post before, but retopo is extremely important. Once you've followed this tutorial, please search for "retopology" and "optimization." the CC will deform better overall with clean edges. and you will also use fewer polygons. so many CC creators make extremely polygon dense files but there are performance reasons why the game's base meshes are so simple.
Retop is definitely important. I have taken a class course on this type of stuff, and apparently we have to retop the mesh before follow through with this tutorial (if i recalled correctly)
Im currently studying 3D animation and this is equal if not higher quality than half of the material I've covered this year. Your explanation of UV mapping, deleting unneeded topography, file management, frequent saving. It's all concise and super digestible. Amazing video.
i've tried out so many other tutorials in the last few days and yours is the first one where i actually got to the end with no issues. tysm for such an in depth video with no cuts omg, you're great at teaching!
Wish someone could create a whole line of different styles of just blanks all white clothing and shoes and hats. That way all we would have to do is edit our own prints and colors and logos through the sims studio program lol That would make life so simple and easy :D
i think u can download some meshes already made that you just have to throw into the sims studio that you can just paint on shes just showing you from scratch
You can just ripoff mesh from any cc that you want and put your own textures on it. Just don't share it and keep only for personal use or give it to your friends.
These two videos were truly AMAZING! Honestly, the best tutorials I've come across. I hope you create one for textures too--you explain everything so well! It's so easy to follow.

Dunno if it's because i'm using blender 3.4 but if the clothes appear transparent when you turn around, click on add modifier and then solidify, it will save you a headache
@emptymoney Actually, don't listen to this comment of mine. I had no idea when I posted it 💀 You can't even use blender 3.4 with sims 4 studio, and I was using 2.7.0 lol. Don't use the solidify modifier either. They're transparent because the normals are flipped. With every poly you're always gonna get a side that's transparent. If you want a part of the mesh to be visible in both places, select the faces you want visible, then click mesh, then add duplicate, left click immediately to not move it around, then select "flip normals". You can also flip normals directly of any part of the mesh that's facing the wrong way
Hi, I am using 2.79 but at the part when we have to append and add the other mesh from s4s I don’t have the option to click the mesh like it’s literally not there. Thank you so much for the tutorial and it’s been so easy to follow thus far!
A few days after I finally finished it. It was so hard, because I couldn't find the way to work in two blenders and I made so many mistakes I had to do it all over again and finally it happened and I uploaded it in the Sims 4. (Btw, who doesn't want to create a thumbnail for clothes, you can't just do it without it, place your package file in mods and go to the game, the game will generate the thumbnail for you)
Update: I asked a friend and you have to go into file/user preferences/input/and then emulate numpad ! Your tutorial was working so great for me but I’m stuck because a lot of the buttons you’re selecting on your keyboard aren’t the same for me, when I select them the action doesn’t perform so now I don’t know how to follow along/what to do :(

Hi! Thank you so much for uploading this! I've managed to create clothes because of your tutorial, just a quick question though, what if I made a whole body attire in MD, which mesh should I use when I am at S4S since there seems to be no nude mesh for whole body? thank you :)
Hi! For a full body mesh you would use a full-body swimsuit, and make sure you turn the skin offset to 8 on the Marvelous Designer avatar. I will be doing a tutorial on full body as well.
hello again! I managed to create a top with your help, but the problem is that the colors were not included in the CC, and it's only colored white. Not sure if I did something wrong about it :(
I DID IT!🥲 Your tutorial is by far the best. I say this confidently because I followed about 4 tutorials to a T and each of the others had mad issues. I'm so grateful for your existence!! You mentioned in this video that you would make a tutorial on how you do your textures. Would you consider doing that please? I don't trust anyone else now lol
Hi there! I've been following your tutorial and I've gotten to the part where I'm importing the obj into Blender 2.79 but it's not showing up properly. If I scroll around I can see it ginormous way off the side of the grid, but I can't seem to get it to go onto the nude mesh I've exported from s4s. I followed step by step so I just can't figure out why it's not working *facepalm*
I had this problem too! When you go to export from MD as an OBJ and that settings menu pops up under “Basic” make sure scale is set to “m” and 100% that should fix it!!
I adored your marvelous tutorial and found it super helpful but I've been stuck on this part of the tutorial for days. I have been downloading both versions and sims4 studios seems to think I don't have them downloaded. Please please please tell me what I might be doing wrong or make a tutorial of how you installed blender

Love you for these videos 🫶🏼 I could not find one video to help me learn to make CC and I’ve been trying for years. Last night I followed along to both of these videos and I’ve made a top. Just need to add logos etc to it 🫶🏼
Hi! Thank you so much for these tutorials omg they’re SO helpful! You explain everything in such an easy to understand way!💖 So I’ve done everything correct, all the way up until checking everything works correctly in blender using the rig option. When I move the avatars arms up, it’s like the material gets a weird stretchy look under the arms instead of moving smoothly with them. Can anyone help me figure out where I went wrong?😅 I made a loose fitted tee, so the sleeves are a bit larger. Maybe I sewed or shaped that part incorrectly in MD? I have no idea lol, I’m going to try it out in sims anyway 😆 But please if anyone can help or has any advice I’d appreciate it!! Thanks 🥰
Hi! Can you make a video going more into depth about weight painting? I am making puffy sleeves, but near the armpit, the sleeve doesnt move with the arm, I can't figure out how to determine what part of the clothes that should move with what part of the body :)
Hi, can you help? No matter how many times I try to press the import .obj for my top it never shows up. I followed step by step, I’m positive I pressed the obj and I’m using a Mac. Also whenever I press 5 my avatar disappears so I always have to go back to 1.
love the series ^-^ helpful to even like really new blender users , except my model starts off greyed out instead of looking like an actual sim , do you have a video that could help? or do you possibly know why that could be ?
so, my shirt looks GREAT on MD and on blender, but the moment i put it on my sim on game, it looks all weird next to the armpit. anyone knows what's wrong?
My uv_1 and uv_0 show the same exact thing, which is the uv map i made in marvelous designer. How can i solve this? I obv did the data transfer bit but nothing has changed.. I tried looking it up online and didnt find anything
Thank you SO much for these tutorials!!! I got through the first video, but for some reason, when I try to open the .blend file in Blender, nothing happens. Like it just doesn't do anything, but it does say the file name of my blend at the top of the screen. All I see is the grid though. Hoping anyone here knows how to fix this, as I haven't been able to find answers elsewhere. I'm on Mac
Idk if you're still reading comments, but I've been following the tutorials to a T and I still have nothing in my UV editor. I am using the most recent version of Blender as of October 2022, so I'm unsure if that would affect it, but no backtracking to MD or in Blender brings up the mesh in the uv editor.
That does effect it sadly. The way she does it, does not work in the latest versions of blender. So if you want to follow step by step, you need her versions :)
I followed every step and now I’m stuck on the part where I have to import the texture to sims 4 studio, when I click import it says an error has occurred & could not initialize an instance of the type ‘CoreGraphics.CGBitmapContext’ so forth and so forth☹️
For some reason after deselecting the vertices like you showed us, instead of just the things that were selected disappearing, everything disappeared from the UV editing map. Do you or anyone else know what i'm doing wrong?
hi i have a question, i followed ur tutorials and it worked rlly great!! so thank u sm for tht 🙏🏽🙏🏽 i’m working on my 2nd piece of cc and its a pair of pants. for my example mesh, do i need to choose a mesh that are bottoms instead of a bra to do data transfer?
I'm getting a texture error. Your image size is 960x1920. I changed the size, left the default, reinstalled the program, nothing helps. I do not know what to do. Plz heeeelp
There is I spent ages trying to find it so yk the 2d window there's like an arrow beside where it says that click that and go down near the bottom you'll see UV Editor 😭
Hey FamSimsss! So i've come across an issue in blender 2.79 where my cc that I made with Marvelous designer won't load into blender...even though I saved the cc correctly and everything. Is there any chance that you might know the reason?
everything works correctly but when I do the texture it just does'nt work. Nothing appears on my UV, and it's the same when I Import it into S4S, it does not appear. Help please 😭
i restarted 3 times already and i cant fix this problem... when i go into the weight painting mode the whole mesh turns blue, even the arms and the neck, what am i doing wrong?? edit: i feel so stupid... fixed it!
Hi! Very good tutorial I’m learning a lot from from u, but I have a problem every time I transfer the weight, it won’t do it, I don’t know why. Any ideas why? I have a Mac and I’m doing everything with Blender 2.78…the Mac version. It can be that?? It’s the only version that goes with the Sims4Studio for Mac.
OK SO, i encountered this problem as well just now (I had to redo everything because I had erasen the rig of the nude mesh instead of the example one) , and I recommend repeating the process we did in blender 2.7 if you still have this issue . because once I finished this process it got fixed. I think it is because of the vertex paint thing that we did, where we make the mesh of shirt green as well
Hi, very good video! I have a problem, ones I bake the texture, and I wanted to import it in the sims4studio it says that my image is 960x1920 and the game requires 1024x2048..please how can I fix that?? Thank you 🙏
i see why sims 4 cc creators want ppl to pay for these, its alot of work
That and also marvelous Designer is the industry standard. People in many industries have used this program, making it not free lol
I hope to be able to do them and give them for free 😢

hi i have a question, i followed ur tutorials and it worked rlly great!! so thank u sm for tht 🙏🏽🙏🏽 i’m working on my 2nd piece of cc and its a pair of pants. for my example mesh, do i need to choose a mesh that are bottoms instead of a bra to do data transfer?
I love your channel!
I'm getting a texture error. Your image size is 960x1920. I changed the size, left the default, reinstalled the program, nothing helps. I do not know what to do. Plz heeeelp

Hey FamSimsss! So i've come across an issue in blender 2.79 where my cc that I made with Marvelous designer won't load into blender...even though I saved the cc correctly and everything. Is there any chance that you might know the reason?
Same, importing the mesh into Blender and nothing happens. I can see it on the right but not on my sim. Did you figure this out?
exactly what i'm struggling with right now. Did you happen to figure it out?

How did you fix it? I’m having the same problem right now :(
@@dodotaku I forgot to make one of the pieces invisible
Hi! Very good tutorial I’m learning a lot from from u, but I have a problem every time I transfer the weight, it won’t do it, I don’t know why. Any ideas why? I have a Mac and I’m doing everything with Blender 2.78…the Mac version. It can be that?? It’s the only version that goes with the Sims4Studio for Mac.
for bottoms, what example mesh should I use bra or underwear?,same with importing sims4studio
I am not able to download the avatar, it is making me request access. Anyone else have this issue?
part 3? :(
46:50 When i try and move my sims arm only the hands move. The shirt doesn’t 😢
The only cause i can think of is that maybe the shirt and the nude mesh arent joined together? Thats all I can think of
OK SO, i encountered this problem as well just now (I had to redo everything because I had erasen the rig of the nude mesh instead of the example one) , and I recommend repeating the process we did in blender 2.7 if you still have this issue . because once I finished this process it got fixed.
Thank you 🙏
