I think Mamamoo has reached a point of success where they can experiment a bit and maybe have Hwasa do some rap parts so maybe Moonbyul can sing more. Maybe they don't do that for the lead single, but maybe the preview single or a one off single that isn't part of an album would be a good fit. At least in her case she is really recognized in the industry as a strong rapper. So often in girl groups the rapper is just something to hand the visual or dancer because they can't sing. In her case she does the raps really well and her raps are a big part of the group's success. It may not be what she initially dreamed of doing, but she is a key part of a highly successful group, so hopefully she takes some pleasure from that and that she has a lot of respect from peers in her industry because she is such a good rapper.
I personally think it's a smart move for RBW to turn Moonbyul from vocal into a rapper if her singing skills is comparatively weaker than her fellow members (coz the three vocals are just fucking gooooood) and it actually makes Moonbyul being able to stand out. Her amazing rapping skills just make her one of the best rappers among all kpop girl groups. However I do agree that more chances of singing can be given to her. Honestly, I do wish that Moonbyul got more lines and all, but my favorite thing about her is this; she doesn't complain. She knows her vocal abilities and is willing to stick with rapping to let the other members shine. And when Moonbyul gets her turn to rap, it all on her own and she absolutely lights up and makes you pay attention to her performance. All the members of mamamoo are talented and beautiful and even though Moonbyul isn't my bias, I'm still very protective of her because she's such an important member and an inspiration. actually she wasn't supposed to be a rapper but in the recent show she was in " Idol Drama Operation Team" where she said that her agency adviced her to be a rapper not because she is bad at singing but actually it's the opposite she is actually good at singing maybe she is also at the same level as the other members of Mamamoo anyway the reason was because they had too many vocals when they we're still trainies and her voice fits rapping as well so maybe the CEO of the agency decided to make her as a rapper.. well overall for me she is underrated and I feel sorry for her well many fans love her so it's ok :D

If they debuted as an all vocal group with only Hwasa rapping, Moonbyul would have probably been pushed just as far back. It sucks that she only gets a few rap parts now, but she would have absolutely zero lines as a vocalist. The few lines she did have would have been incredibly underappreciated and would have gotten her a lot of hate. As a rapper she has attracted a lot of attention. As a matter of fact, RBW was genius for it, as she became a seasoned rapper in less than 5 years. Most rappers start when they are incredibly young. She doesn't even have an ideal sound, but still climbed the ladder. Moonbyul is my favorite member, but even I can admit she is nowhere near the level of the other members. I often think about how certain stages would have actually been weaker with her as a vocalist. A prime example being their cover of "You in my faded memories." When the other three are hammering notes, it isn't just idol singer level. We're talking about incredible skill and complexity. I would rather Moonbyul have rap parts that she can control, instead of lines like Cheng Xiao in WJSN. I think RBW made an optimal choice. Now that she is finally singing, people are falling over themselves to listen to her. A lot of the recognition for Paint Me was for Solar, Hwasa and Wheein's amazing vocals but also the fact that Moonbyul FINALLY got to sing, and she sounded amazing. I think they made an excellent decision. Even if it caused harship, I would say it is part of the growing process. They all took huge sacrifices to get this far. Now that they are here, they can finally experiment and do what they need.
Amazing flow, best delivery in female kpop, very smart and well-considered lyrics. Let's be honest, when you are a rapper in vocal power house group you have to step up your game every comeback and that's exactly what Moonstar is doing. I really hope next step for her will be collaboration with some of the legendary rappers like Yoon Mi Rae, Tiger JK, Dynamic Duo...

She is a good singer. And i love her raps. While other g-groups have rappers, they seem to just talk or talk fast with no rhythm, which annoys me. Moonbyul puts emotion, rhythm, and a flow into her raps. Her voice has a nice rapper tone when she raps. All the while she CAN most definitely sing.

I can understand why she might be a bit insecure. Solar, Wheein, and Hwasa are all incredible singers. Singing next to them would be daunting. At the same time, I hope the love Moomoos show her reinforces her self-confidence. I love hearing her sing, her rap is on point, and there's no one who could ever take her place.
5 years forward and Moonbyul is the Most female credited Writer in KOMCA overall. She's having Solos and always beating her record in Sales in every Comeback. She's the Queen of everything and is finally able to show her voice which is one of a kind.

I've always considered Moonbyul as important to Mamamoo as any of the other three girls. There's no second place in Mamamoo!! I'm so into our Moonstar when I first noticed Mamamoo (and lovely Wheein as well), but I never think she is underrated. If you watch Show Champion during UOAY, which they swap their parts, you can hear Byul's beautiful singing. Members of Mamamoo complete each other and they can't be replaced by anybody else, that's why they are Mamamoo :)
I think she also made the choreography for their debut as well. She probably helped with other choreographies as well if she's not the original choreographer
i'm glad that she receives a lot of love within the fandom but nonfans only know her as mamamoo's rapper. She's risen to be one of the best female rappers in this gen and add that she has those hidden vocals too. I truly hope she gets more collabs and projects. byul may not be the best rapper in the industry but she certainly has her own flare which i think is important to get recognition, like byul's voice is so distinguishable, not to mention her own style of growl rapping. i've really never seen someone integrate growling so nicely and naturally in rapping until now. same goes for her singing, her tone is so unusual for a female vocalist since she has a lower register, but damn her voice sure sounds really rounded and sexy. her cover of the manual always makes my heart swoon. as for writing lyrics, if she keeps it up, she could be swimming in her royalties sooner or later lol and how could we forget her dancing. if i had to be honest, her dancing could be more refined by being trained by a professional (since i noticed her dancing can be a little messy or repetitive at times) but the fact she can choreograph and freestyle is already beyond all of my expectations. her freestyle for body party, and choreography for worthless and her dance break in woo hoo will always blow me away. tl;dr @rbw and broadcasting stations stop sleeping on byul and give her her own special stage and more lines + screen time pls thx bye ✌️

I'm just saying this as an opinion. But I believe Moonbyul is quite talented both on stage and off stage, and I'm referring to her own personal skills. Like if we exclude the fact that she is performing as Mamamoo, she'd still be an asset to the company. I mean she could write, compose, choreograph dances, and she speaks so well; and not to mention her personality. Not saying that the other three aren't similarly assets, but I'm just emphasizing how important Byulie's role is and what she does best. And she probably doesn't see that, underappreciated by both the people and herself. I just love watching her gradual growth in confidence. I sincerely love her as an inspirational figure. Hope she gets what she deserves.

My bias in Mamamoo is Moonbyul. The first time I see the Yes I Am dance practice, I was thinking that I like the orange shirt girl (I didn't know the name of the members yet that time) and turns out it was Moonbyul so I like Moonbyul even before I was an official MooMoo. I like her because she's talented, funny, cheerful, her rapping skills, and so much more. I love her so much. She's more like the JHope (from BTS) of Mamamoo. She can dance, do vocals, rap, make choreography, and so much more talents that a person can't have that much. Please understand Moonbyul's feeling and love her a lot :)
10:00 I fell in love with Moonbyuls vocals and dance skills in this performance! That was the first time I thought "Wow, she's so talented. Why does nobody notice her great skills?" It's a waste somehow because she has lots of abilities and could show us much more of her talents. But despite of that, isn't it awesome how much support and love she gets from us moomoos? Even though it seems like she's less in the foreground in Mamamoos performances and music videos, their fans appreciate her hard work and efforts. Moonbyul is such a charming person and Mamamoo wouldn't be this popular without her. Because of her appearance and behaviour in public, I think that Moonbyul isn't an ordinary rapper/performer. And that's the reason why I think that she fits in Mamamoos concept so well. I only recently discovered mamamoo and have been army for quite some time...and the first thought that came to my mind when I saw moonbyul was that her style is very similar to SUGA's
You literally just said what I thought just by your title. You don't know how many times I want people to witness her multiple talents like an opening act with some dancing or even showing her beautiful singing voice. And I thought this when I watched the music bank in Singapore and she only performed as mamamoo whilst the others gets special performances when she could easily have sung her solo song if they didn't want her to cover another song or she could even show some of her slick dance moves or even just rap with the rappers in BTS as a collab. I know I'm ranting but yes she may be one of the popular and well known member but not many know about her talents that she has hidden due to not having confidence and who could blame her with having members with powerful voices but hers is one that that I prefer more due to it being more calming. Although I think she is opening up a bit more like the other stage the other day on kbs where she actually sang loudly and I could hear it. What I'm saying is that she should show more as many may not know that she can sing dance and rap and when you put that together with her personality and looks you get complete perfection. Many also have said why she is even in mamamoo when she can't sing but well she can and could beat most main vocals in other groups and without her rap I don't think many would listen to most of their songs due to it being quite repetitive with the vocals overlapping each other when byul helps harmonises the low notes which balances the whole song. But she can also sing high notes from when she was on weekly idol the other week

I mean she can SING REALLY WELL, those golden vocals honestly, she's one of the best rappers in the idol industry but people are too blind to see just because Mamamoo is a vocal group and her dance, good lord HER DANCE is so good. Byul is unquestionably the biggest reason why I’m currently a MooMoo. Which is kinda funny because usually I’m drawn to the main vocalists (Hi Wendy) or the really good dancers (Hi Mina) in the groups I like. So even though Byul’s rapping normally wouldn’t pique my interest, she has an inescapable magnetism to her performance. She is literally impossible to ignore. And finding out just how talented she is at multiple disciplines of performance has only exponentially increased my respect and admiration of her. And I just hope that the more time that goes by, the more she’ll get to show just how dynamic and elite she really is.

Moonbyul is my favorite member, but even I can admit she is nowhere near the level of the other members. I often think about how certain stages would have actually been weaker with her as a vocalist. A prime example being their cover of "You in my faded memories." When the other three are hammering notes, it isn't just idol singer level. We're talking about incredible skill and complexity.
I would rather Moonbyul have rap parts that she can control, instead of lines like Cheng Xiao in WJSN. I think RBW made an optimal choice. Now that she is finally singing, people are falling over themselves to listen to her. A lot of the recognition for Paint Me was for Solar, Hwasa and Wheein's amazing vocals but also the fact that Moonbyul FINALLY got to sing, and she sounded amazing. I think they made an excellent decision. Even if it caused harship, I would say it is part of the growing process. They all took huge sacrifices to get this far. Now that they are here, they can finally experiment and do what they need.
I'm glad she's a rapper. Cause she is one the best third generation rappers and I'm happy to be able to see that happen

Let's be honest, when you are a rapper in vocal power house group you have to step up your game every comeback and that's exactly what Moonstar is doing. She is a good singer. And i love her raps. While other g-groups have rappers, they seem to just talk or talk fast with no rhythm, which annoys me. Moonbyul puts emotion, rhythm, and a flow into her raps. Her voice has a nice rapper tone when she raps. All the while she CAN most definitely sing.
ThatAsianGuy yes! she is an actual rapper because of her detailed attention to rhythm and lyrics (i major in rap in theatre so i tend to critically analyse idol rappers to really see if they're doing it well!) and the fact that she writes her own is very respectable. as a rapper, when you write your own stuff you feel it more

I can understand why she might be a bit insecure. Solar, Wheein, and Hwasa are all incredible singers. Singing next to them would be daunting.

I've always considered Moonbyul as important to Mamamoo as any of the other three girls. There's no second place in Mamamoo!! She's part of the Mamamoo sound and whether she's rapping, dancing, vocalising or writing, Moonbyul is easily up there with the others. Keep it up Moonbyul. Without you, there'd be no Mamamoo!

I'm so into our Moonstar when I first noticed Mamamoo (and lovely Wheein as well), but I never think she is underrated. If you watch Show Champion during UOAY, which they swap their parts, you can hear Byul's beautiful singing. Members of Mamamoo complete each other and they can't be replaced by anybody else, that's why they are Mamamoo :)

byul may not be the best rapper in the industry but she certainly has her own flare which i think is important to get recognition, like byul's voice is so distinguishable, not to mention her own style of growl rapping. i've really never seen someone integrate growling so nicely and naturally in rapping until now. same goes for her singing, her tone is so unusual for a female vocalist since she has a lower register, but damn her voice sure sounds really rounded and sexy. her cover of the manual always makes my heart swoon.
as for writing lyrics, if she keeps it up, she could be swimming in her royalties sooner or later lol
and how could we forget her dancing. if i had to be honest, her dancing could be more refined by being trained by a professional (since i noticed her dancing can be a little messy or repetitive at times) but the fact she can choreograph and freestyle is already beyond all of my expectations. her freestyle for body party, and choreography for worthless and her dance break in woo hoo will always blow me away.

I'm just saying this as an opinion. But I believe Moonbyul is quite talented both on stage and off stage, and I'm referring to her own personal skills. Like if we exclude the fact that she is performing as Mamamoo, she'd still be an asset to the company. I mean she could write, compose, choreograph dances, and she speaks so well; and not to mention her personality. Not saying that the other three aren't similarly assets, but I'm just emphasizing how important Byulie's role is and what she does best. And she probably doesn't see that, underappreciated by both the people and herself. I just love watching her gradual growth in confidence. I sincerely love her as an inspirational figure. Hope she gets what she deserves.

My bias in Mamamoo is Moonbyul. The first time I see the Yes I Am dance practice, I was thinking that I like the orange shirt girl (I didn't know the name of the members yet that time) and turns out it was Moonbyul so I like Moonbyul even before I was an official MooMoo. I like her because she's talented, funny, cheerful, her rapping skills, and so much more. I love her so much. She's more like the JHope (from BTS) of Mamamoo. She can dance, do vocals, rap, make choreography, and so much more talents that a person can't have that much. Please understand Moonbyul's feeling and love her a lot :)

10:00 I fell in love with Moonbyuls vocals and dance skills in this performance! That was the first time I thought "Wow, she's so talented. Why does nobody notice her great skills?"
It's a waste somehow because she has lots of abilities and could show us much more of her talents. But despite of that, isn't it awesome how much support and love she gets from us moomoos? Even though it seems like she's less in the foreground in Mamamoos performances and music videos, their fans appreciate her hard work and efforts. Moonbyul is such a charming person and Mamamoo wouldn't be this popular without her.
Because of her appearance and behaviour in public, I think that Moonbyul isn't an ordinary rapper/performer. And that's the reason why I think that she fits in Mamamoos concept so well.

You don't know how many times I want people to witness her multiple talents like an opening act with some dancing or even showing her beautiful singing voice. And I thought this when I watched the music bank in Singapore and she only performed as mamamoo whilst the others gets special performances when she could easily have sung her solo song if they didn't want her to cover another song or she could even show some of her slick dance moves or even just rap with the rappers in BTS as a collab. I know I'm ranting but yes she may be one of the popular and well known member but not many know about her talents that she has hidden due to not having confidence and who could blame her with having members with powerful voices but hers is one that that I prefer more due to it being more calming. Although I think she is opening up a bit more like the other stage the other day on kbs where she actually sang loudly and I could hear it. What I'm saying is that she should show more as many may not know that she can sing dance and rap and when you put that together with her personality and looks you get complete perfection.
Many also have said why she is even in mamamoo when she can't sing but well she can and could beat most main vocals in other groups and without her rap I don't think many would listen to most of their songs due to it being quite repetitive with the vocals overlapping each other when byul helps harmonises the low notes which balances the whole song. But she can also sing high notes from when she was on weekly idol the other week

Moonbyul is honestly one of the most talented individuals in the industry (that's why she's my bias). I mean she can SING REALLY WELL, those golden vocals honestly, she's one of the best rappers in the idol industry but people are too blind to see just because Mamamoo is a vocal group and her dance, good lord HER DANCE is so good. It's not the usual kpop girl group dancing you see and it's not fully hip hop either. It's a class of its own and it looks so sophisticated. Byul is unquestionably the biggest reason why I’m currently a MooMoo. Which is kinda funny because usually I’m drawn to the main vocalists (Hi Wendy) or the really good dancers (Hi Mina) in the groups I like. So even though Byul’s rapping normally wouldn’t pique my interest, she has an inescapable magnetism to her performance. She is literally impossible to ignore. And finding out just how talented she is at multiple disciplines of performance has only exponentially increased my respect and admiration of her. And I just hope that the more time that goes by, the more she’ll get to show just how dynamic and elite she really is.
