"The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected a broad challenge to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, reversing a lower-court ruling that would have undermined the watchdog agency Congress created in the wake of the financial crisis to protect borrowers from predatory lenders, junk fees and other abuses.
Cut through the 2024 election noise. Get The Campaign Moment newsletter.
In a 7-2 decision written by Justice Clarence Thomas, the court said the CFPB’s funding mechanism is constitutional. The agency draws its budget through profits of the Federal Reserve, not an annual appropriation by Congress."

It’s funny to me how struggling people are trying to get ahead and how when you seem to have extra money suddenly your utilities , bill payments change just to keep you struggling. Lawmakers are exploiting the situations so everybody gets involved. How about removing all the corruption to make things fair across the board.

Anyone who doesn’t think the CIA is not independently funded either indiscretions now only nationwide but worldwide. Think of any department do you really want independently funded by an act of the president? and yes, I am aware of this was a bill through Congress, Republicans have shown they can get bills through Congress too. You don’t think they would love to have an independently funded border agency? I think Democrat should get independently funded IRS now. It’s not a place we go down.
