@@baeac It's very difficult to find tutorials for this exact stage of learning, so I really appreciated this video. I'm still very much a beginner, but it's increasingly hard to follow tutorials for people who have never touched the software before, because the actual steps for creating something tend to be scattered between explanations of the fundamentals. But I also can't just jump into intermediate projects without getting stuck on more advanced functions, so a step-by-step demonstration of how to set up a more complex scene like this is exactly the right speed. I think it especially helps that you still say which keys you're using for basic functions, but when you stop to explain things it's stuff that's specifically applicable to the project, like how to change colors in the addon. So I'm still getting reminders that keep me from getting stuck, but without having to think about anything but the new information.
That’s awesome I was wondering what are some of the best ways to displace trees and grass and the botaniq addon sure helps with that it looks like! Thanks for kickstarting more ideas for me with landscapes!
Amazing process !. I was wondering if, the right wing of the plane would break upon crash with the tree, and some broken branches and debris floating in the pond, would add cool storytelling, apart from this. it is truly inspirational, ..... keep up the great work !
You're changing lives with these vids! Just subbed. Learning to make my own music videos. How come when I finish the subdivide my plane turns black? Is that normal?
Good start to the tutorial! But I was lost at the water (i am very new to blender and don't exactly know where to find these things) Where can I find the dirty water material?
Very nice video that shows the basics how to create an environment. I'm a bit sad you skipped over how to do the trees, though. A rather major part of the scene.
After watching it back I get why you say that but essentially its the same as the grass but then with tree models. I generally set the transform to global z with trees tho instead of the normal which I use for the grass
are you using a numpad? it's the 0 on the numpad not on the top of the keyboard. If you don't have a numpad you can enable "emulate numpad" in the preferences
@@baeacthank u i found it but now I’m stuck on botanical part I don’t have water or grass so idk what to do with just white surfaces 😅 ( and botaniq cost a lot 😮
"Now i want to add in some trees" "Now we've added in some trees" Would have been great to get some explanation for how this was done considering this is supposed to be a beginner friendly tutorial. My guess is he has a plugin that gives him assets and he got the trees from that? Oh well.
Straight away there is a mistake. You start by saying "let's delete the default cube" but show yourself deleting the cube, the light, and the camera. This could cause confusion with the beginners you say this video is for.
common misconception that beginners are blind, dumb, and completely lacking of problem solving skills. Praise to the tutorials that let you figure out something
all these request in here for the "dirty water" part you added and no response? if this is for beginners foreal, why is that not mentioned...can I skip pass that part to finish bldg this scene?
Looks really awesome! That being said this is not a beginner tutorial.
thanks! and yeah but its not for intermediate users either,, somewhere in the middle i think
@@baeac That is a good personal goal. I am hoping to learn enough to get to that level ;)

Glad you said that, it's the first time for me using this program and I'm so frustrated following this tutorial!!!
@Revenant483 Hey. I'm curious, 1 year passed since your comment, have you achieved your goal?
I NEED THE DIRTY WATER THINGY
Looks cool, so far. THX!
Thank you, I find this method creates a more easily customisable terrain than geometry nodes or the ANT Landscape add-on.

yeah that would make it a lot better tbh!! thanks for the feedback :)
Bro, whatwif we need to show a landscape from aerial view, how to design such like large scale environments.?
The farther away you are, the lesser the details required on your models. Arrays, textures, decals, and environment brushes are your friends.
A little bit of smoke to the flames could have increased the depth to a pretty good.level but oanyways amazing work
what do you mean by "lets grant with the water" at 4:03
5:48 how u add trees?
where is the matterial which you add after append 4.45 min???

Like after it turns fully orange and I click out, the plane turns completely black.

Where can I find the dirty water material?
he said he had been working on a procedural one that's what he used
The first 4 minutes were a pretty good “beginners” tutorial, everything after… not so much….

hey i tried to make like you but when i set the plane texture strength to 12.5 the plane is tilted and its different than in the video
Make sure you apply the scale of the plane! You can do that by selecting the plane and pressing CTRL+A > Scale
