The RST Silver shield was okay to ride with at night... but this RST Red shield is a bit too dark. I have ridden it at night... but I don't recommend it. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Hello, the exterior diamond shaped trim piece is replaceable but it is not meant to be repetitively removed and replaced for cleaning--the backside of it has adhesive to help keep it on place. The inside chin piece is held in place by adhesive as well. You best bet is to just lay a warm wet cloth over the exterior of the vent and let it loosen up any debris then wipe it off. If there is additional stuff inside behind the mesh, then maybe a toothpick or the like could help you clean the stuff out.

Hello, do you have the face shield in the up position before you try to remove the side plates? Once you raise the face shield, put the back of the helmet into your stomach and then reach from behind the side place to the front of it and use your fingers to hook into the front of it and pull the side piece away from the helmet--it takes a bit of force. Repeat on the other side.
If you are going to use a knife type of object I would strongly recommend using something such as a plastic putty knife or similar. If you use a metal blade ot could damage the finish of the helmet so of you do be very careful

I need to pull off the mouth vent and clean the bug guts out along with replacing that mesh screen. How do i pop that out?

That spolier is so stuck It is impossbile to pull with fingers
It can be difficult.
You literally start with half of the side taken off, which is half the struggle. Do better
