Well yes you would expect the Quest Pro to be better when it costs 4 times more. The Pico 4 is not a direct competitor for Quest Pro, so not a fair comparison. I'm sticking with my Quest 2, I'd rather just wait and see what Meta does with the Quest 3 than change headset as I only got my Quest 2 in January.
Hi! Thanks so much for you vid. I was looking into getting myself some VR-goggles. Should I go for the Pico 4, the Meta Quest 2 or should I wait? (the Quest 2 is about 2 years old now?) perhaps it's a new one around the corner? Thanks :)

But definitely enough to create motion sickness. Something I never experienced in my Quest 2. Too bad as the image was definitely clearer. Did anyone else experience this?

I'd be interested in how the pico 4 stands up to a virtual home office scenario. I know immersed is coming to the pico 4 soon but no idea if there is another alternative to such things as Vive Sync or Horizon workrooms for the pico platform? Did you try any productivity use cases for the headset? Does it operate while plugged in and charging? Can it tether over usb-c display port to a PC (like the quest 2 link cable) or is it wireless only? Is the clarity of a desktop environment such as Desktop+ readable at 1080p like resolution or higher? Is it comfortable enough to wear for extended periods 3+ hour sessions? Does it get hot like the Vive cosmos? Does it handle sunlight lit bright rooms ok? I know the Quest 2 used to freak out about it and the Vive cosmos (non elite) just plain didnt work in bright rooms. Do the controllers provide any kind of pass through charging for the batteries?
You know Quest can do wireless PCVR as well right? And most of those "PS2 lookin standalone games" are cross buy, so you get the PCVR version for free from the Rift Store. You get one version, we get two versions for the same money. I only play the standalone "PS2" games if there's no Rift version, although Resident Evil 4 says hello - not on Pico 4 and one of the best VR games ever made.

The Pico 4. Both the Pico & Q2 can play with a USB connection, but the graphics are compressed on both (unlike Pico Neo 3 with its display port connection). Both Q2 & P4 play well wirelessly, via Virtual Desktop, if you have the right set-up (PC with ethernet to the router and 5ghz wi-fi for the headset). The Pico outclasses the Quest for PCVR though. Wider FOV and clearer display, and it's cheaper.
Can you create multiple accounts for multiple people so that it remembers theirs IPDs? Like for me with 66 and for my son with 62, so we do not have to change it manually every time? Thanks.
This !! Exactly I am planning to buy vr headset but is there a chance that I can accidently click share button and it goes straight to my facebook wall ? 🤨
Yes. But overal it still results in a rather minor upgrade 'visually'. And it does have the same chip, so a few games actually do run a bit better on the Quest 2 (just a few though). At least, standalone... and the loading times on the Pico 4 are far better. The biggest benefit from the Pico 4 is the extra comfort, pancake lenses, less sliding around, etc. So the visuals are a small step up for most part, but the comfort and practicality are pretty much a giant leap forward. Especially for wireless PC VR, I think the Pico 4 is a no brainer.
Hi Chris. Can you help me? I just got a Pico 4. I created an account with an email address on the VR Assistant android app, verified it, all ok on the app. Then when I try to log in with that email on the Pico4 headset, it says 'This user does not exist'. Any ideas?
I still will not get a wireless headset at this time. They sound nice, but I prefer my tethered VR headsets for the best PCVR and connected to my Graphics card. Too many pre-requirements to run the best speeds from wireless and still not as good as direct connections to the PC. I mainly do sitting SIM Racing on my gaming PC. I keep watching all the you tube videos on wireless, and will wait till next year to see what is on the plate for updated or new wireless VR. Thanks for the video. Take care.
I dunno what pre-requirements you're talking about. All you need is a router capable of Wifi 5 or 6 or a wifi dongle. That being said, I don't think UA-cam's quality is a good indication for how good PC VR wireless looks on the Pico 4. Sure, it looks a little bit better on tethered headsets connected through display port. But there's some pretty massive benefit as for a minor visual downgrade. I'm not into sim games, but honestly games like Half-Life Alyx, RE7, Monster Hunter Rise, etc all look fantastic on the Pico 4. I used a G2 before and I much prefer this because it's much more comfortable. Like of the time using the G2 I was trying to get the sweet spot right or to adjust the position because it moves a bit around thanks to the front weight.
And I'm the opposite, hate tethered VR headsets, having been given one as my 1st VR headset a few Christmases back. It's too restrictive, even when you're playing a seated game like sim racing. Even trying a 4k headset like the HP Reverb G2 didn't change my mind. Wireless VR is the future of VR, as the market leader is a wireless headset (Quest 2). Wireless VR is already capable of connecting directly to the GPU, as all the previous Picos did it prior the Pico 4. But all you really need is a good Wifi 6 router and Virtual Desktop/AirLink.
@@acurisur Works just fine with Wifi 5. No difference with Wifi 6. Quite frankly, the bandwith and speed the XR2 chip is capable of streaming through Wifi aren't quite good enough to make use of Wifi 6's advantages. They don't even come close to pushing the limits of Wifi 5.
@@thenonexistinghero It's not about speed, it's about wifi signal quality. Wifi 6 has a much better signal quality than Wifi 5 so it can cover much greater distances. I live in an old house with thick walls and with a Wifi 5 router, I couldn't use the Quest 2 in my living room as it's 2 rooms away from the router. After replacing it with a Wifi 6 router, not only can I use the Quest 2 in the living room, I can also use it outside as the boost in signal quality and distance is that much greater.
@@acurisur Doesn't mean you need Wifi 6 for a good wireless experience. Most people have don't try to play wireless PC VR multiple rooms away. A range of a few meters is enough.
I think the lack of library compared to the Meta Quest 2 is a little unfair. I have the Quest 2 but only play games from Steam on it. And I do the same if I had this Pico one.
