I’ve seen a lot of caracals and most of them just seem to be grumpy if I’m being honest. Never heard of them biting or scratching. Mostly lots of hissing and swiping

Cats have a pressure point that is commonly called the scruff, it basically makes it easy for the mom to carry her babies from one place to the other without causing any harm to the nerves of the kitten. Vets use this method because it’s easier to give cats that bite, hiss, scratch and kick vaccines.

Fun fact: Holding cats tightly at the nape of their neck actually virtually paralyzes them. The vet uses this so that the Caracal doesn't physically revolt when receiving the shot. In nature, mother cats use this to drag their kittens away from undesirable situations and, in a much more fucked up context, males use this to paralyze females while mating so they do not run.
I call it grabbing the scruff, cats don't move when you grab the back of their neck area. That's how their parents carry them around when they are kittens
