I love Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille is one of my favourite perfumes, just beautiful, Guerlain is one of my favourite houses. I don't mind buying a dupe so long as I have the real thing too, I use the dupe for everyday as it smells super close and the real thing for special occasions. I haven't seen your videos bar this one this week as everyday I have been falling asleep when finished working from home like I have narcolepsy, I'm kinda glad now I can binge them at the weekend and as black Friday and Cyber Monday is coming up I am making lists for me and loved ones.
If one has the budget and wants to give themselves a luxurious treat, the new bottles of SDV are the ultimate with all the personalization. You get to choose your lid, the cord around the neck of the bottle, and you can have the bottle engraved. Plus the marketing is out of this world, with such stunning photos/video and using the music of Vivladi. So if you can, go for it!! I'm on the fence when it comes to purchasing but realize it would be more about the luxury effect because for me, the scent itself is a strong like but not a love. I guess it all comes down to how you want to spend your money: four cheaper bottles vs one that is expensive...
I knew for sure you were gonna talk about Sweet Spirit or Vanille D’Oree at the first. I’ve had Sweet Spirit in my collection for several years and it’s one of my favorite perfumes! I’ve got a sample of the Guerlain and it’s pretty dang spot on, as you determined! I’d love to know how close the DUA dupe is, but I’m not ready to plunk down cash for it. Great video!
ITA about Le Couvent Eau de Missions. I bought that about 6 years ago because several people told me it was a dupe for SDV, which I love. It is not. I was so disappointed. It's nice but in no way a dupe. I also have Yves Rocher Cuir de Nuit and agree again, not a dupe for SDV. I spent a great portion of 2008 and 2009 trying to find a dupe for SDV. I tried sooooo many. Every once in a while, I find myself going down another rabbit hole trying to find a dupe, which is why this video (albeit late in viewing it!) caught my eye. Now I'm excited to try Alexandria Fragrances Vanille Doree. Thank you for sharing this♥ Didn't know you were doing lives! Your life sounds like mine, I never know if something is going to come up. Hard to plan anything. I hope the next time you do a live I'm able to be there. Your daughter is just adorable. I can tell she's a mama's girl ♥
I have the Dua Brand dupe, it’s called Vanille Overload and it’s lovely 🥰 Excellent performance 👌 I’ve never smelled the original, but I think there is no need, since I like this inspired version very much.

(in about 10 years at my rate?! 🤔) It definitely stinks that Guerlain raised the prices of their line AND did a repackaging because ppl are selling their bottles for exorbitant $$ ☹️. I did a little research awhile back, and the info I found stated that Le Couvent des Minimes has been completely restructured and now creates vegan perfume. No more Cologne of the Missions! :(

I have a dupe from Oil Perfumery and Annick Goutal Nuit et Confidences which has been compared to SDV and love both, however I was very disappointed by Sweet Spirit from Be Layered...I found that there was a musty undertone (at least on my skin) that doesn't agree with me. I would love to hear a future comparison of the Be Layered and Alexandria dupes. I figured they would be identical since they are sister companies but if the Alexandria one is better I would go for that because I can't drop $350 on the real thing! I am also very curious about Dua Vanille Overload and A Vanilla Affair.

So I bought the Alexandria, and while I shouldn’t be surprised it didn’t capture double vanille in a bottle I was so disappointed. I LOVE LOVE double vanille’s velvet bourbon and vanilla mix on my skin. It’s so natural, and sexy, and mysterious- not a sweet vanilla at all, but the jasmine soften is it up to something really cozy and feminine. It’s literally the best thing ever out into a bottle. The Alexandria is great for everyday when you don’t want to use that liquid gold in a sample up 🤭😅 but it just couldn’t catch the depth of double vanille. I bought Angelique noire years ago and adore it, but waited to get double vanille because I’d the prices- and could kick myself because they went up $100. And honestly, if you love vanilla- it’s so unfortunately worth it. But I keep 5ml samples Ana one spray does it, so they last awhile:) but I do like the Alexandria as a more affordable backup, but I can’t say it’s a true dupe 🫣
I do not have the original SDV so I'm not sure how it smells but I have the oil perfumery version and that version smells great. I'll have to check out the Alexander version so I can have a spray to layer on top of the oil.
I have yet to try SVD, but when I have heard people mention similarities of other fragrances to SVD, most compared to how they smelled on skin. So some of these may be much closer once applied.
I have the Dua Vanille overload and the one from Generic Perfumes and they're head to head on how good they both are. The one from generic will last on the skin even after a shower.
Ugh! I SO wanted to buy the Vanille Doree but cannot find anyone to ship to Australia..! 😢 Even Alexandria Fragrances don’t send to my country. Nothing on eBay either…Not sure why. So disappointed. I did find one supplier in Australia but they are AUD $230!! However, I’ve managed to order a Dua Vanille Overload instead, which sounds lovely!

I was so interested in this! I am wearing Club Black today and when I saw the photo of this bottle in the thumbnail with the title I just went "NOOOOOO!", so I'm glad you agree. I own many of the ones you compared and I totally agree to those also. I have the Alexandria and I have to say, I see no resemblance, sorry. I own and love SDV and have a near empty original formula and it is very boozy which the Alexandrai is not, whatsoever. Also, the Alexandria uses a very different vanilla and I smell it in their version of Nishani Ani, called H'ani. I don't really even like the Vanille Dore, I'm so sorry to disagree! I love your reviews no matter.
May I give you a suggestion, as your kid love to show up in your videos why don’t you make a kid/teens perfume preferences and let her talk her impressions What is the perfume she likes. I have to tell you that you need to try DUA Vanille overload. I bought Vanille Doree quite a few weeks ago and Dua Vanille overload as well. Duas is beautiful and does not smell watered down like the Alexandria version . FYI.
I love all of these, Midnight Shimmer has quince, thats why its fruityish...the closest fragrance to Midnight Shimmer is Vanilla Woods, which has pear at the top

Sorry to disagree. Alexandria does not smell close to SDV. With the SDV you can smell the quality. But for the price the Alexandria is ok
