This tree base was not OSHA approved from the begining.
To fill up the smeltery with lava you can always just bring the smeltery tank with you to fill it up
You can smelt with creosote in regular furnaces so you don’t need to use steam

Well, greg days are 10 minutes long so it's more like 50 days.
A better way to move lava is to grab the tank and fill the tank at the lava, then carry the tank back. Using 1 bucket full is not the correct way.
Steam cannot escape from the boilers from the bottom so its fool proof to pump the water to the bottom side of the boilers.

Yea I was never a fan of the fire spread mechanic, it's a funny mechanic until it happens to you!

OSHA guidelines are is like the Geneva conventions: they exists for valid reason, but don't be surprised when everyone keeps ignoring them.
You can put the Aluminium Gravel through the Macerator to double it. Just have to do the Cauldron washing after hammering it.
Also, you could take the Smeltery Tank (or build a second one) to the lava and fill it there.

In vanilla the wood from the nether is fire proof there is only in red and blue colours do.
'Wood from the nether' in vanilla Minecraft 1.7? That sounds doubtful.
