Yes I love this song for that elements too. It gives so much intensity in the ginal chorus it literally puts you at the edge of your seat while the song reaching it's ending! What a strong masterpiece!! It's been so long since I heard a song like this one and I kinda missed it but I think I found another song that used the similar kind of style for the final chorus, maybe you wanna check out Astro - Knock. I thought the final chorus felt great too with the rap layered with a vocal for the final chorus! Great intensity can never get enough!

SKZ version was raw, rebellious and filled with anger because they were symbolically fighting for Hyunjin and mourning his absence. They even changed the lyrics and took out the parts mentioning the girl because for them it wasn’t about a girl. And they even had a young boy in the performance that resembled Hyunjin in his childhood. Their concept was that they prayed and prayed for the return of the boy who was turned to stone but their prayers were not answered, so they made a deal with the devil and sacrificed all their lives in return for his, so that he could be alive again. The original version by BTOB is filled with sorrow. So the vibe is way different from the one that SKZ performed on Kingdom. The original is so very beautiful of course. It’s quite refined and smooth. But to me, both versions hit different.
I'll Be Your Man is one of the best KPOP songs in my opinion, truly a masterpiece! Glad you liked both the original and the cover SKZ did, as you said, they're very different. One thing I love about BTOB's music is that they write such relatable songs. They may say "girl" in their songs but they write their lyrics so it can be interpreted as a friend, a family member or a partner, hence why SKZ could do a very different version of the story. Love it!

That’s why Hyunjin was asked to leave the company (JYP) and it was uncertain whether he would return or not. KPop industry takes bullying very seriously. Later his school authorities cleared the allegations to be false and even his old classmates and teachers supported him. Even then he talked to the person who put the accusations and apologised. He did some community services too. He returned several months later. His company did not support him and this happened when they had just begun their participation in Kingdom competition. He only could perform the first round and was immediately dropped because of the allegations. So his teammates were heartbroken and furious because they believed in his innocence. And they felt betrayed by their own company who didn’t give any effort to help Hyunjin. They thought they lost him forever.

Lemme just comment on this again just in case there are new fans here :) BTOB has a STRONG fanbase in South Korea and they are really FAMOUS because of their vocals and live performances. Adding the fact that they are all active on VARIETY shows, MUSICALS, and KDRAMAS. They are VERY well known. The original version by BTOB is filled with sorrow. So the vibe is way different from the one that SKZ performed on Kingdom. The original is so very beautiful of course. It’s quite refined and smooth.
But to me, both versions hit different.
I'll Be Your Man is one of the best KPOP songs in my opinion, truly a masterpiece! Glad you liked both the original and the cover SKZ did, as you said, they're very different. One thing I love about BTOB's music is that they write such relatable songs. They may say "girl" in their songs but they write their lyrics so it can be interpreted as a friend, a family member or a partner, hence why SKZ could do a very different version of the story. Love it!

@@abrokenraft9378 he was on hiatus. Someone from his school had accused him of bullying from back when he was a student. That’s why Hyunjin was asked to leave the company (JYP) and it was uncertain whether he would return or not. KPop industry takes bullying very seriously. Later his school authorities cleared the allegations to be false and even his old classmates and teachers supported him. Even then he talked to the person who put the accusations and apologised. He did some community services too. He returned several months later.
His company did not support him and this happened when they had just begun their participation in Kingdom competition. He only could perform the first round and was immediately dropped because of the allegations. So his teammates were heartbroken and furious because they believed in his innocence. And they felt betrayed by their own company who didn’t give any effort to help Hyunjin. They thought they lost him forever.

via SKZ I found BTOB, there is room in my heart for both, they all make a fabulous music.
Lemme just comment on this again just in case there are new fans here :) BTOB has a STRONG fanbase in South Korea and they are really FAMOUS because of their vocals and live performances. Adding the fact that they are all active on VARIETY shows, MUSICALS, and KDRAMAS. They are VERY well known. It's just that we have a relatively small international fandom but that doesn't make them unknown and unappreciated.
