    RCF is an amazing hybrid track / GT platform. You just need to embrace what it is go from there and you will always have a smile on your face. Far more raw and performance-oriented than a LC500 but yet has the ability to not even make a noise on the drive home from the track. Thats what this car is. This particular car sounds like a pseudo GT3 car!I have the highest-end track spec of the car and its by far been an insane experience. However what you have in this config is another complete level of focus. Kudos to this video and owner of this beast the RCF is a IYKYK car and once you know , its hard to love anything else without that raw experience you get. Great video. Now you know! BTW the best RCF racers are using OS Giken LSDs which are the best and a nice upgrade to the Torsen which are the best for experienced drivers who care about raw performance and mechanical feel along with less weight. Great video!

    When you go this far you need to remove the stock wiring and engine management and go standalone. Once you make the leap you'll never go back. All I can see in that interior is 100 lbs of wiring that doesn't need to be there etc. That car sounds amazing.

    Great video! RCF is actually not soft at all. I demonstrate in my video. The example you drove was poorly maintained, the owner admitted he had mismatched, worn out tires. They had horrible load rating on them. The suspension and chassis are tuned for the tracks over 2 years. Unfortunately, RCFs are plagued with poor aftermarket parts and poor, cheap and I see it all the time. People want to buy a high performance car, but then treat it like a commuter putting cheap parts on it. I have video demonstrating RCF sticking like a glue in tight, high speed turns without any body roll. My secret is just super aggressive Michelin PS4S tires with a very high load index (96Y front and 100Y rear with 39/41 PSI)

      @@Ryan6y I am talking from personal experience. It is not speculation. Yes, the compound is very soft. Compound being soft and sidewalls being reinforced to prevent deflection are two different things. You have to learn what load index means as well as sidewall deflection under high G load. It kills body control especially with limited negative camber. I came from OEM PSS to high load rated PS4S and the difference was night and day in my at the limit driving with way flatter turning. One look at the shoulder blocks and it is easy to understand. I have videos to demonstrate it. They are kevlar reinforced sidewalls on the inner side and outer side. The PS4S with the load rating are meant for 4500 lbs AMG E63 and they work incredibly well on a 600 lbs lighter RCF.

    Idknow why people bag on cars that arnt manual. These feel as viceral as raw and direct as a manual. For manual you have to think about your shift and touch the shifter and clutch in and bang it into the lower gear or next gear. This is the same ferocity but with fingers and you can keep both hands.

    • @NDEEZMiata
      @NDEEZMiata 27 днів тому +3

      I disagree. It doesn’t feel even remotely direct as a good manual transmission car. And the car hides speed insanely well…it’s super insulated and because the engine is more top end oriented (not much of a shove, it’s very linear), you don’t feel like you’re going fast until you look down and realize you’re doing triple digits. It felt extremely disconnected from the road to me, even for a heavy car. An SS 1LE is a similar weight and feels much more alive IMO. To be fair I didn’t push it very hard other than some pulls as it’s my friend’s car lol. The inputs feel pretty good, but there’s no real sense of speed. I prefer more “edgy” cars
      One of the best parts of a manual transmission is nailing a buttery smooth heel toe downshift, especially when a car sounds as good as this one.
      It’s a decent transmission though, the upshifts at WOT are quick, but some of the downshifts are unsmooth and sometimes feels like someone who doesn’t drive a manual well. To me nothing is more annoying than an automatic that randomly does something you don’t intend. I want it perfect like a PDK otherwise give me a manual. It’s such a brilliant engine, it deserves a better transmission. The 10 speed on the LC500 seems more sorted.
      The RCF isn’t fast enough in stock form to where I want paddles over a manual, especially given it’s a torque converter. Some cars are so fast that a DCT makes more sense…
      I wish they offered the RCF with a good manual, it’s the one thing keeping the car from being one of the best GT cars ever made IMO. The people that own them adore them.

      @@NDEEZMiata Yeah but a Camaro is a muscle car, this is a tuner. You can't compare tuners and muscles in that sense. I’ve literally owned an SS 1LE and have driven an RCF lol. I’ve done a buck twenty in the RCF and over 160mph in the 1LE…it’s a pretty numb car but GT cars generally lean towards that side of things. Going faster doesn’t make it less numb or “more connected” 😂
