I love Weezer and I love this cover. Some people get too hyped up over stuff that has nothing to do with them. Covers are tributes to bands that you admire and this is a great tribute to Weezer.
+Shannon Ecco I haven't been able to stand Weezer in years; I blame the radio for overplaying the shit out of the Sweater Song. But this is a great cover and a great tribute.
+Brad Simpson this statement wouldn't be possible if you'd wake up and stop listening to commercial sheeple radio, I suppose you like a computer telling you what to listen to?
Dave Lee I suppose it's possible that you might not be old enough to remember the days before the Internet. In those days, we listened to the radio on the way to and from work, and popular songs got overplayed all the time. If you talk to any of us old dinosaurs, we'll all be able to tell you about a song or two that started out really good, but was absolutely ruined by being overplayed on the radio.
I love their eye contact game when singing together (mid mic) 2:14 First Emily tries to find Sarah's eyes, then Sara, then Emily... till they finally find each other and smile!!! Seen it like a million times, so cute... :)
Wow, all the opinions about singing with or without the right emotion... I just enjoy hearing them sing, watching them play good music, learning a new song (for me) and discovering the artist who wrote the song.
I love it when people who are actually talented play and sing. I for one am not skilled vocally or with instruments, so I stay away from doing it myself! You guys are awesome keep the music coming!!!
Hey Sarah (which btw is the best name on the planet ever.), whats the chance you can do an instrumental of "Say It Ain't So" with Emily Bone? I would very much like to see one! Also, can you do a "Happy Christmas" cover this year? You can just make that my gift. (; lol Thanks!
Thank the world for people like you guys. Wonderful talent and you take your time to share it allowing everyone the opportunity to enjoy, thank you kindly, hope to see more =)
+Jackie QB because it's almost insulting to the band and the person who went through the experience that is outlined in the song. Don't get me wrong, they have beautiful voices but it just isn't right.
It's about rivers thinking her parents were gonna divorce, hence the first like because his dad HAD an alcohol addiction so he thought it was gonna come back
They look happy because they like the song. I play an instrument (the drums) and the feeling I get from the pounding of bass drum, or the sound of the snare is absolutely fantastic. I don't know if you play an instrument, but when you play a song that you like it feels wonderful. Of course they look happy, music is awesome.
If I were to guess, it's cause this isn't quite the portrayal on this song that they were looking for, originally with this song being about Rivers worried about what drinking would do to his family, because his real Dad left him around the time he started drinking and now his step father is drinking, so it scared him, so the song sounded dark, depressed and angered, as this one kinda changes the meaning I guess? (not really sure how), and it's a lot more up beat and uplifting then the original.
I hate these fucking Ukulele covers where the cover artists don't understand anything about the song or the simple fact that it is not a happy song, at all. It comes across as extremely ignorant and insensitive when you're taking such a dark and personal subject that Rivers writes the song about and then have these two take the song and go through it smiling and laughing with each other. I don't get.
First of all, where's your cover? Why are you hating on the ukulele? Also, this wouldn't have been recorded and reproduced if the owner of the copyright to the song didn't approve it. So, next time you decide to bitch about something and only know half the story, perhaps you should contact the owner of the song and ask them instead of typing up a long spiel on UA-cam with so much hatred. And on a side note, it's apparent you've never had the joy of "jamming" or playing music with anyone other than your MP3 player. They are smiling because they enjoy the music and laughing most likely because there are people in the background and might be slightly distracting causing them to laugh. WOTE is a great cover band and they also write their own material. They are artists. You're just a critic.
interesting take on a great song. I'm all for experimentation and making the song sound your own, but the cheery mood seems to take out the serious and touching feel the song is supposed to have. but meh 7.5/10
To me this just sounded like two friends messing around, trying to make everything sound as pretty as possible. That's fine and all, but I couldn't get any emotion from the cover because of it. Probably just me being a grouch lol.
I totally agree. Say it ain't so is a really deep song with undertones of depression and anger. How in the world these two chicks managed to make it sound poppy and lovey-dovey is beyond me. It's almost like they just memorized the lyrics and didn't actually understand them.
Colette Le Bienvenu I actually find the original to sound fairly upbeat and whimsical considering the subject material. It certainly doesn't sound angry or depressed. This is actually really common in music. Pumped Up Kicks comes to mind but that is just one other example.
Beautiful cover. You guys look like you're having a good time playing. Maybe a little too smiley for a song that is about alcoholism destroying a family. Just sayin.
This is just not how the song's meant to be. It's about Rivers' struggle with having not one but TWO alcoholic father figures and major abandonment issues. A ukulele and a couple of hipsters just can't get the emotions of that across.
I discovered WOTE last Thursday. This weekend, a few old friends who all worked together with me on the crew for a band in the '80s got together at my place. We ended up in my studio watching WOTE videos for hours and hours! The word we all agreed on that best describes your music and videos is "mesmerizing" - the talent, the creativity, the performance, the instruments, and especially the voices. Of the covers, my faves are "I Knew You Were Trouble" and THIS one here. Sarah and Emily are simply adorable, and harmonize wickedly together. The fuzz on the uke was simply brilliant, too much fun! I have played this video at least a dozen times (today). Pulled out my acoustic bass and jammed right along with you ladies. I've always been pretty lazy about singing and playing bass, because it's difficult for me, singing while playing guitar is a lot easier. I think jamming with 2 beautiful musicians like Sarah and Emily just might be the kind of incentive this old dog needs to learn a new trick ;)
SARAH great voice!! Emily even! INCREDIBLE HARMONY BETWEEN YOU TWO...i'd like so much to find someone to sing with so well...YOU'RE LOVELY. i'm gonna follow you on your channel
Found Walk Off the Earth and Sarah's different UA-cam channels last week. Totally helping me with some late night work! So creative! This is one of my favs - great Weezer mash.
I can play this song. When my band covers it, and I go into the solo at the end, or the single bends in the 2nd and 3rd chorus, I look to my band mates and smile. Because those parts are bad ass and we nailed it. The fact they covered it and know how to play that song (even the solo on a uke) is dope af. That shows way more respect and fandom then you knowing the back story of it. Blah, I love it. Props ladies, you kicked ass. Never heard a distorted uke before haha sick.
I absolutely love this, have listened to it several times today. Both you girls are beautiful and talented. Love how you rock the ukulele Should make Emily part of wote!!Keep up the good work=)
I'm honestly probably at least a thousand of these views im sooo in love with this cover :) these two need to do more stuff together
This is wicked !! Both your voices are magic
I love Weezer and I love this cover. Some people get too hyped up over stuff that has nothing to do with them. Covers are tributes to bands that you admire and this is a great tribute to Weezer.
+Shannon Ecco they are sitting laughing and smiling while singing these lyrics, kinda grosses me out
+Shannon Ecco I haven't been able to stand Weezer in years; I blame the radio for overplaying the shit out of the Sweater Song. But this is a great cover and a great tribute.
Brad Simpson I know right haha
+Brad Simpson this statement wouldn't be possible if you'd wake up and stop listening to commercial sheeple radio, I suppose you like a computer telling you what to listen to?

that is the mightyest rockin uke solo ever
Omg! I love you Sarah! Tearin it up on that electric ukulele.
An electric distorted ukulele, woah! :)
I love the harmony of you two are singing together, it's glorious! :)
Sarah is pure talent! incredible walk of the earth! Beautiful musical fusion with your friend !!
I've never heard a Uke hooked up to a distortion pedal. So happy right now.
I sat in on a small set with Rivers singing this song acoustic and I got just as many shivers watching this... Kudos.
Show me anywhere else on UA-cam where you can find a cover of this solo on a distorted Ukulele
I know Im kinda off topic but does anybody know of a good site to watch new series online?
@Reuben Rex lately I have been using Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Idris Devon yea, been watching on Flixzone for months myself :)
@Idris Devon Definitely, been watching on FlixZone for months myself :)
@Idris Devon Thanks, signed up and it seems to work :) I appreciate it !!
Man, I have playlist that are just hours of WOTE/Sarah/Gianni and I still keep coming across songs I haven't heard/seen before!
That is a big cat.
Oh, and you make great covers too.
I need to edit this to say you make great MUSIC. Not just covers.
Edward Starsmith Do that by clicking the circle with the upside-down triangle on the far-right of your name in the comment you want to edit.
Gotta go with you on this though. Big ass cat :D And amazing music! Saw them live once. One of my favourite concerts so far!
Uhhh the cat says STI..... :/ poor kitty lol
Wow, all the opinions about singing with or without the right emotion... I just enjoy hearing them sing, watching them play good music, learning a new song (for me) and discovering the artist who wrote the song.
I'm not really into the ukulele, but damn that was good! Especially with that fuzz!
I usualy don't get goosebumbs listening to a song but this... it's just wow!
LOL, She did that with a freaking ukelele.
I love it when people who are actually talented play and sing. I for one am not skilled vocally or with instruments, so I stay away from doing it myself! You guys are awesome keep the music coming!!!
beautiful cover ladies :D
Your voices are gifts to humanity! What a great rendition of this song.
There's so much hate comments! :c I thought was a lovely cover! ^ u ^ well done girls :D 💖
Wonderful job ladies, I can tell you put so much thought into the harmonies. It's flawless.

Well loved. Like our furry chubbers. Indoor cats is sposed to be fatses.
I love listening to this song on the the radio, thanks so much for presenting it to youtube in your own angelic version ♥
2:45
i nearly fell off my chair. that was a nice surprise. did not expect that.
My favorite part is when Emily repositions her glasses while singing "try to be cool" totally cool....I love her!
Who is ready for a Bones and Blackwood tour?? I am.
Addicted to this video... just awesomeness in it's pride and glory!
I don't think there is anything wrong with the ukulele but I do believe they are way too happy for the mood of the song
It's a cover. They can do what ever they want with it
+Gabriel N who are you to say freedom of creativity and expression isn't right ?
+Jackie QB because it's almost insulting to the band and the person who went through the experience that is outlined in the song. Don't get me wrong, they have beautiful voices but it just isn't right.
+Gabriel N If you don't like it you don't have to watch it.
+Jackie QB how was I supposed to know that I wouldn't like it before I watched it?
I got chills throughout the whole song... awesome
I'll make a delicious sandwich... AND EAT IT. *dramatic bite*
HOLLYYYYYYY SHHIIIIIII-----
Great song, great voices, you girls are awesome!
This song is about an uncle's abusive habit of alcohol... and the lyrics are mournful as hell... Why do you guys look so happy singing this?
It's a good cover just the intent of the song never got through in this
like a someboody
It's about rivers thinking her parents were gonna divorce, hence the first like because his dad HAD an alcohol addiction so he thought it was gonna come back
Well, as you can see, they're just having fun
They look happy because they like the song. I play an instrument (the drums) and the feeling I get from the pounding of bass drum, or the sound of the snare is absolutely fantastic. I don't know if you play an instrument, but when you play a song that you like it feels wonderful. Of course they look happy, music is awesome.
I was captivated. I adore this cover. Sarah and Emily, you are incredible.
that distortion tho.
Ikr XD
Sarah B and Emily B in a duet? Life = complete. I absolutely love this cover. Well done, ladies, well done.
why people hating?
If I were to guess, it's cause this isn't quite the portrayal on this song that they were looking for, originally with this song being about Rivers worried about what drinking would do to his family, because his real Dad left him around the time he started drinking and now his step father is drinking, so it scared him, so the song sounded dark, depressed and angered, as this one kinda changes the meaning I guess? cause peopple answer haters soo they get more vewers and more likes hahahaah human stupidity has no limits
Why am I just now discovering this!!!???!? amazing duet amazing cover
you forgot the intro
I'm a fan of this cover, and I'm a fan of both Emily Bones and Sarah Blackwood. they are both very talented singers and musicians
I hate these fucking Ukulele covers where the cover artists don't understand anything about the song or the simple fact that it is not a happy song, at all.

Michael Stanton It's just my opinion don't be mad.
Coffeey I'm not mad. Just stating my opinion with some fact as well. Nothing more.
U Str8 Jelly bro
Thanks coffeey - I was just about to write the same!
I'm absolutely in love. This is wonderful and you two are great.
Better than the original IMHO.
Just amazing, you girls are the best.
And there ain't a damned thing wrong with Ukulele.
God speed sir.
This song ALWAYS gets stuck in my head all day when I listen to it. LOVE IT!!!!
interesting take on a great song. I'm all for experimentation and making the song sound your own, but the cheery mood seems to take out the serious and touching feel the song is supposed to have. but meh 7.5/10
past 20 years~ cool cover! love you Sarah!
To me this just sounded like two friends messing around, trying to make everything sound as pretty as possible. That's fine and all, but I couldn't get any emotion from the cover because of it. Probably just me being a grouch lol.

Likewise. But who am I to criticize an artist. Just their portrayal of the song I guess. I'm gonna go listen to the original now...
Colette Le Bienvenu I actually find the original to sound fairly upbeat and whimsical considering the subject material. It certainly doesn't sound angry or depressed. This is actually really common in music. Pumped Up Kicks comes to mind but that is just one other example.
Love this version of the song. You girls are awesome together. Make it so effortless seemingly! Loves girls!
Best example of a remake being better than the original since Johnny Cash did Hurt.
hahahahah
Hahahahahaaa
LOL NAH
Wouldn't call it better. Still good though!
ahaha, aren't you adorable :D
great cover from one of my favorite bands !!! kiss from france !!!
Beautiful cover. You guys look like you're having a good time playing. Maybe a little too smiley for a song that is about alcoholism destroying a family. Just sayin.
Can't get enough of this cover! Love love love!

Jay Hard Music is expressed differently by each person, it means something different to them. Appreciate variety or leave planet Earth.
Ashton Ellis I would very gladly accept option 2.
Jay Hard Sweet, which planet are you thinking of occupying?
Mars. I will take an independent voyage, and claim much of the planet forcing those government turdheads the most undesirable of land.
Ashton Ellis This comment could have pwned had it said appreciate variety or walk off the earth.
Love Emily and the Anti-Queens!
Such a cool vibe.....sweet harmony ! You two compliment each other vocally and instrumentally......love this one. :-)
Nice ladies! Lovely music as a backdrop to my remote work, thank you x.
I've always loved Sarah's voice, but Emily's voice is just as awesome! Time to check out the Anti-Queens.
I loved this version! Please More collaborations from you two girls!:-)
Love this... you guys are awesome so talented! & Walk Off The Earth too!
