Hi Andy, no, it's a wax and grease remover, takes away dust and any residues (happens to be in a thinners tin because it's convenient from a larger tin)... if you use thinners to wope down paintwork you've keyed it can actually melt the surface and screw up the keyed finish... but of course, thinners is perfect for de-greasing bare metal.
Great video & a merry Christmas to you and Penny ,but please don’t tell me everyone had a pop noodle for Christmas dinner 🤦♂️😂😂 hope you both have a great New Year 🍻👍
Thanks Chris... no not at all, those are a collection of many Christmas dinners, the Turkey Bombay Bad Boy is especially good...lol! Happy new year tyoo buddy, and stay safe. D&Px
I completely agree with your choice of finishes for the screen and brackets but I think I would (irrationally) have a hard time roughing up factory fresh new chrome. 😁 Also I don't know if I've ever heard the term "flyscreen'. Again pointing out the difference between UK English and whatever it is we speak over here in the States. Enjoy the rest of the holiday season and don't work too hard. Cheers to you and Miss Penny. ❤👍👍
Hi Rick, I actually hadn't thought of that one (flyscreen), I absolutely love the massive array of different words we respectively have for things... not sure what it might be called there, but you know what they say, separated by a common language! Have a wonderful week and wishing you a Happy New Year! D&Px
You could use an extra spray cabin, mate. Saving a lot of time covering each and everything in your garage. Great work, as usual. Only a few steps away from a New Year's first ride. Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg
You're aboslultely right, I don't always have access to a spray booth, make the most of it when I can... but the rest of the time I make do with sheets and covering everything!
love the new fly screen , they are some chunky bits of hardware...Have you spoken to anybody about your pot noodle addiction?....I'm sure there's a help line you can call ..lol
Thanks Dave, glad you approve.. and don't sweat it on the Pot Noodles, it's purely recreational, and i can give up at any time, i can handle it maaan... lol! Merry Christmas and enjoy the holiday mate.. D&Pxx
Thank you so much Tony, it's lovely to hear from you... we hope you're both keeping safe and well and have had a lovely Christmas, funny old time the bit inbetween, this and New Year, just time I guess to relax and put our feet up! D&Px
Hi Penny and Del - the saga continues! Extreme props to Dave for donating the screen and leading you to the fork clamps. The gloss black / satin black paint scheme sounds great and I very much look forward to seeing the results. Take care, dear friends. Be well, ride safe. I hope you had a very happy Christmas - we sure did.
Thank you so much for your kind words... I know the continued painting projects tend to niggle at some people, but then some people expect cops and robbers every day! Really appreciate your kind support this year, it's always good to hear from you, thank you for being there for us... D&Px
I stumbled across a Rocket on eBay yesterday, with all the original chrome bodywork, and while I initially thought it looked ok, seeing the customization you’ve crafted on yours, I actually think you have a much better looking version…❤
Even uploading a video at Christmas. Now that's dedication for you. Brilliant creators Del and Penny. Hope you both had a magical time together. Great video once again. All the best, mate.
Thanks mate... The advent run up is always the best part aye... now it's Christmas im sure everyone's home with their feet up, so why not keep going. Take care and have a wonderful time, say safe and warm.. D&Pxx
The 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' of the motorcycling world. Looks only a mother could love. But really enjoying your skills at the pigs ear to silk purse attempt none the less. 👍
How many miles will the Rocket drive & last with proper maintenance.?? I know of a Chrome ,dome,,in Leavenworth Kansas,,for around $3,000 is that a high price for a machine that has 50,000 ""MILES"" not kilometers,,??
Hi Del & Penny, hope you had a very relaxing Christmas. Nice video, this will be the icing on the cake, job well done mate. Enjoy the holidays, take care and stay safe. Cheers
Thanks mate, we did indeed and it's back to work today!... Just a finishing touch that I think it needs! Enjoy your weekend there and enjoy the sunshine, D&Px
NOW, that’s using your noodle. All jokes aside, that was slickly done.. My paint-in-a-can skills have improved exponentially from doing it your way. Thanks. Have a Merry( but cold) Christmas to you and the lovely camera lady.
Thank you so much Nick, am so glad to hear that your paint skills are tuning up... it's a great skill to have as it means you can do so much that would otherwise cost money! Happy New Year to you!

Bonito trabalho nessa Rocket, mas você está precisando de uma cabine de pintura.
Sadly the paint booth isn't always available to me, so I make do with what I have... thank you for your kind words!
Well done Dave ! Nicely done Penny and Del. All the best.
Now aren´t the paint fumes harmful for those birds in the garage? 😌
See Penny has been hitting them pot and king noodles hard again Del 👌
Healthy optioins always....lol!

Sorry mate.. it's a 3 day process at least with drying times, so it just presents a natural break point... almost done, then back to the XJR project.
