- The Sims 2 Gameplay: Pleasantview Dreamer family home makeover. 💕 Welcome back to the sims 2 lot renovation series!
Today, we're working on one of the last populated homes in Pleasantview, the Dreamer family house.
Darren and Dirk Dreamer live at 195 Main Street, a cozy home that is big enough for a growing family. 👀 Darren aspires to make a living as an artist, but so far his work is not getting the bills paid. Meanwhile Dirk is hitting the books and looking forward to moving to university soon.
Can Darren make his dream come true and support his son on his way to university? And what about his muse, Cassandra Goth, who is set to marry another man? We'll find out very soon!
This sims 2 build is part of my big Maxis lot renovation project. The goal is to make sims lot makeovers for ALL of the pre-made hoods and start a let's play series with a large sims 2 uberhood full of all sorts of uncommon couples and storylines.

Yes, blue and yellow! I renovated the place with a *tacky* amount of blue and yellow lol Darren might be an artist, but in my mind, he is not an interior decorator haha
I LOVE blue&yellow combo it's just soooo good, such a striking contrast. Yeah, he can paint but I like to imagine that Darleen was the homemaker of the household who kept things looking pretty~~

First thing I did was change Darren's hobby to Arts and Crafts. Why the heck was NATURE his hobby with FreeTime? That made no sense; his bio said he was into painting. I'm not sure if I mentioned this in the Pleasant build, but I also changed Mary Sue's hobby to Arts and Crafts because her bio says she likes pottery; Daniel's hobby to Sports because he's in the Athletic career, and Lilith's hobby to Music and Dance because... well, a lot of people tend to do that.
Back on topic, Darren has been put into the Artist career [the one from University] in my game and has married Cassandra. The two of them live a very good life together, and Dirk has a few half-siblings. Dirk is still with Lilith and has been thriving in University. He's also become good friends with Dustin and Angela. In fact, all four of the teens from Pleasentview are quite close now. Dirk has also become good friends with Johnny Smith. The two of them often got enthusiastic about homework studies, much to Lilith and Ophelia's confusion.
yeah his hobby *must* be art. the problem is they didn't make the premades with chemistry/hobbies in mind so when those features came out later they were randomized. That's why I don't follow any rigid calculators and "rules" because it just sucks the fun and variety out of the game mho.
@@bibipixels Everyone's playing style is different. And that's what makes it fun for me to see how other simmers play their game.
Lol I was listening while building and had to stop and comment on the how to do artsy things in silence. So, be a teacher (Portuguese in Brazil) and than silence become the best music you can hear 😅

Love the house. You executed the blue and yellow theme in a much more tasteful and aesthetically pleasing way! Dirk's room looked like it was for a 6 year old boy before, what an improvement.

Dirk's room apparently hadn't been renovated since he was a kid, or so it looked like :D I wanted to give him a double bed, a desk for a computer (when they can afford it), just more fitting for a teen. Thank you for watching

I recently just redid my Dreamer household as well! So many blues and yellows until Cassandra moved in. And since she brought most of the monies, she ended up changing most of the interior to her tastes😅 A healthy mixture of blues and blacks for this family. They’ve had a daughter since being together and Dirk is about to head off to college🥹
I sadly had to move Darlene off the lot to the local graveyard… she haunted my lot every other day and set my trees on fire! Cassandra died in the fire right after she moved in and WE CANNOT ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. I backed out without saving so fast😭

Oh, I love this! 🥰 That studio! 😍 And the crate set is so perfect for the Dreamers too! Honestly the bespoke build set should have been in the base game, it's perfect for such a wide variety of builds! Honeywell's a genius. 😄

omg this came out as I'm renovating my own Dreamer house! Well it's not really a full renovation just yet, but I moved the ENTIRE house over to the right so Dirk could have a garage while still having the shape of the original house. Really looking forward to the let's play!
Oh gosh moving the whole house must have been a hassle x_x Wish we could just pick up and move the whole thing like in ts4.. you can kind of do that with the lot adjuster, but it's much more work. And thank you for watching, I can't wait to start the let's play too! 😀
