This is such a great video! I’ve been wondering how Prusa Link worked. Love your blue filament that disappeared off the top of the screen! Thanks, Chris!
Really enjoy watching/listening to your videos Chris. You get your point across clearly and concisely with zero BS. A rarity in my opinion. I hope you and Toto are doing well.
Many thanks for this very instructive video Everything works fine in my environment and I am happy with that. Still some additional information. I did first install the configuration with Raspberry 4 model B and it works also fine. It just needs to have more power via an external power supply. Then I did the same with a Raspberry Pi Zero W (not Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W) and this works also fine. Many thanks to the Prusa team and the support they provide us with.
Hi @Chris Riley, I am happy to report I have both my Prusa MK3S+ printers online with Prusa Link and Prusa Connect. One printer with the Pi Zero 2W exactly like your video instructs… and the other printer with a Rasp Pi 4B 8GB simply plugged in via USB (without Rasp Pi port turn on). I just swapped my Octoprint SD card for the new Prusalink image on a new SD Card. Setting up the Rasp Pi 4B is exactly the same process other than it just being plugged in via USB and not turning on the Rasp Pi port for that printer. The prusa connect front end is gorgeous and super clean. Printing direct from Prusa Slicer is a dream. Love it! Many thanks!
@@ChrisRiley I will try to find doing that myself. But there and there are lots of work 😃 What surprised me is that new prusa connect from github has USB camera connectivity.
It seems like a nice no-nonsense way to setup octoprint. I absolutely love octoprint so I won't switch, but this seems a very nice solution for people looking for a nice and easy integration
Thanks to you on an old outdated video I was able to get my MMU2 working. I needed that secret menu......one difference is I have to hold reset the whole time. If the printer ever boots up, the MMU2 reboots into normal mode. But yeah making those adjustments did the trick............................and then my extruder got clogged. Like HARD clogged. I took it apart and I still can't get the filament out. Unfortunately I don't have the tools to clean the nozzle or remove it. I ordered all of that. I've had it for less than a month and I already broke it. Welcome to 3d printing!!! LMAO (it is my first printer). I think the fact that I didn't have the tools to clean it was part of the problem, but I also suspect switching to silk PLA for the first time and using the same temperatures didn't help. Anyway thank you for your videos. They've been very helpful!
@@winslowjoy2629 it was like mmu2 troubleshooting or mmu2 tips and tricks or something like that. Just search his channel for mmu2. There aren't that many videos and I think they are all helpful. One of them deals with making sure the filaments don't get stuck in the tubes. I went from 1-2 MMU2 failures in an hour to none since with the exception of a tangled spool.
That's quite handy. Maybe they add some mor functionality like, you got 6 printers and you tell the slicer you want 4 pieces... And than it automatically uploads it to 4 idle printers that have enough filament loaded, because the software is clever and knows how much is left.
@@ChrisRiley awesome possibilities. Sadly it's only mk3 upwards. Guess there are still many mk2/2.5 out there. Maybe one day, they will open to any printers.

Funny...PrusaLink is just rebranded Octopi 0.16 with OctoPrint 1.1.0 based on those settings. further investigation seems to indicate it's not actually OctoPrint, but their internal API is mimicking some of the OctoPrint API for external tool compatibility maybe (ie upload from PrusaSlicer)?
Hello, thank you very much for perfect video. Is there a way, how to control 2 printers via on pi 4. I have MK3S and MK3S+. I tried to connect them both with USB cable to one pi 4, but obviously, it does not work. Thanks.
Looks like a nice system that ties into their integration. It does not seem to have any copyright issues like some other companies who tried to create a cloud system. Good review.
Hi Chris, thanks for this great introduction to Prusa Link and Prusa Connect. I think I would like to give it a try with my two Prusa MK3S+ printers. The only thing lacking for me anyway at the moment is camera support as you mentioned. I just use the camera on my current Octoprint instance to see how the print is going remotely. So if I get the Prusa Link/Connect setup going for my two printers (each with their own Rasp Pi), would it be as simple as accessing each Rasp pi camera independently with a web browser and the respective Rasp Pi IP address to connect to the camera and see what going on while staying connected to Prusa Link/Connect? Or would that conflict with the Prusa Link/Connect connection? Maybe I would have to close one connection before opening the other? Sorry, I am not too network savvy. Thanks for your help as always Chris!
Reading the forums over the last few weeks, it looks like they are working on camera support. Their current version, 0.7.0 RC1 doesn’t support it yet. I’m not very knowledgeable with raspberry pi’s and Linux, so I’m not sure if you’d be able to install web services running on Linux to create the pi camera web viewing. For my MK3S+, I just have a Wyze cam pointing at it. On my Mini+, I’m using octoprint with a pi camera.
@@Josh.Wilson Hey, thanks for your feedback! Seems like camera support might not be too far off. In the interim, I think I will just point a couple of independent wifi cams at my two printers … and then attempt to integrate Pi cams when the camera support catches up.
If Prusa link adds camera support, it should take care of all of that with prusa connect. You shouldn't have to worry about the port forwarding. Like @Josh Wilson said below, I currently use a Wyze cam to keep tabs on them. Hopefully, they will get support added soon.
I’ve been in the beta test for prusa link for a while now. It’s far from perfect but give it time and it’ll be great. For now I’m using octoprint for business related prints where I need stability and prusa link on print I can afford to have not finish because of software issues.
