Thank you for the comment, that is also much appreciated. I don't know if you've watched the 'Tyre Pressures 2' video, but It gives a breakdown of the maths to do the calculations. I have fine tuned the pressures for my PR7 with the TrailMax Mission Tyre and I will put up a post in the community tab with my latest results. The '8500kms on the TrailMax Mission' video also has some insight if it's of any interest. Currently on around 12000kms with this set and plenty to go. Regards MarkP
Thank you for the comment. The method looks fairly solid, it will be interesting to see what others find with their own bikes/tires calculations. I am certain that tyre manufacturers have these design models. It would be great if we could access and extract pressure settings straight off their websites for our own setups. Looking at the variance in tyre and bike manufacturers spec's, they seem fairly rigid and not that informative. Let's hope we can stimulate some change. ;-)

The tyres have now covered 8500kms(half worn?) and have performed well on most types of terrain, though the lateral grip in mud regardless of pressure is still an issue for me but the forward movement and braking ability are good on any surfaces. I am working on a video update regarding my findings on tyre pressures which I hope to complete in a few week time. For the PR7, the range seems to be between 1 & 2 Bar =14.5 to 29PSI with very noticeable difference in performance for relatively small changes in pressure. Regards MarkP

I'll be interested in your conclusion I run between 18 and 25 psi dependant on conditions on the tubeless GS never had any problems its probably not recommended or much good for longevity, I looked up and spotted those figures in a cloud shape one morning zero science involved just a little bit of wobbling about experience, thanks
As an ex rally driver 25psi was the pressure I used to run in Dunlop Ultragrips in my Mini ;-) I am now coming around to the idea that speed not weight is the decisive facture. Off to Spain next Friday, I hope some TET riding will provide both test opportunities and some results, fingers crossed.
It sounds like you have had a very different experience with the tyre to myself. What bike did you use them on and at what pressures? Tyre choice is defined by use, so we all have different parameters for our purchases. For me, cost effectiveness and road mileage were big pieces of the puzzle. If you trailer your bike to your off road riding area, then road use has no bearing on tyre choice. I however, usually prefer to ride not trailer my PR7 so those road miles count. I see comments about tyres that perform great off road and rubbish on road. They usually last 2-3k if you're lucky. I am currently at 12000kms on these tyres and they have taken me anywhere I want to go. My riding buddy prefers a more agressive tyre for his aggressive riding style. With roughly the same distance covered, he is already on his 3rd set of tyres. Most people write this tyre off due to the way it looks, that is their loss. The traction and clearance of the rear tyre in particular is phenominal and with the correct pressure settings, this tyre does everything I need it to. I expect to still be using these when my buddy is on his 5th set of tyres. 'Cash in the Bank'... thanks for your comment
@@markp87PR7 I had them on a 1290, reasonable tyre on dry roads, absolutely dangerous in the wet. I’ll take grip over longevity anyday. I tried various pressures ended up throwing them in the bin at 5000ks
I tried them on a 1290, they were fair at best, dangerous in the wet at worst, in the wet my tc was going nonstop. Off road they were fine on gravel etc but crap in the mud although that was to be expected. I’ll take grip over longevity all day every day. They may be ok on lower powered bike that don’t overpower the lack of wet road grip.
I had similar issues in the early days until I went out on a limb with trying what I saw as extreme changes to tyre pressures. Just for interest sake, I entered a bike weight of 230kg and a front/rear split of 40/60 (couldn't find a weight split reference). ( Too many guestimates here) for the 1290, My tyre calculator suggested 26lbs Front and 23.5 rear for speeds upto 110kph. ..17 front and 14.5lbs rear for mud.... and 34.5 front and 32lds rear for up to 150kph. TET use would be 20 front and 17lbs rear. Did you get this low on pressures in your explorations? As I said I am not a tyre engineer and we all have to seek our own pressures. The tyres were designed more for the 1290 than the PR7, they are a much wider spec than the AJP's. Thanks again for taking the time to comment, sorry the tyre didn't work out for you.

All that time and research and you ended up with arguably the worst tyre for adv riding.
