Second verse is the best written verse this year in my opinion, the rhyme pattern is insane and the content never suffers, Lupe really is a painter with words.
Just try to listen to whole Lupe's catalogue... you'll be amazed at how good of a lyricist he is, prolly the best ever and someone could argue bout that.
i was listening to this song about seven hours ago and this is the first video i see on my subscriptions, coming here. i've been bumping 'dmiz' heavy. this is one of the many lyrical exhibitions lupe has in the album. a masterpiece! now let me watch how the insane schemes look like when highlighted.

@@ishaking6278 Shakespeare created so many words and completely changed the English language. I think Lupe is the greatest poet/rapper of all time, but Shakespeare's influence still puts him above Lupe imo
You can tell how much he hates Atlantic lmao. This line actually is a metaphor meaning you have to give the middle finger to those who think they can control you and make the art YOU want
@@asadasss263 Well the second line basically says that gender and sex aren't the same thing, a sentiment that generally implies support of trans people.

Tbh he is not forced at all.... He doesn't use big ass words where you don't need them... Each and every punchline and metaphor makes sense....someone like canibus is called forced lyricist... Lupe is purely effortless
@@lyrics2challenged they're entirely different. Lupe rides with the metaphors and similes throughout entire verses while incorporating a lot of entendres, allusions and allegories. On top of that, Lu uses far more wordplays than Bis. Can't say that Bis can do what Lu does. They're both excellent at storytelling and concepts, but that's it.
Ok, one of my favorite songs period off of one of my top 10 hip hop albums of all time...but dude, your rhyming notations make no sense sometimes. How does "ga" in origami have any relation to the word "down" in the next line? There isn't any form of similarity in pronunciation or spelling that would suggest it rhymes in the song. This isn't touching the surface either, there are a lot of places where it feels like the crew decided to place colors in random places, like how do "at", "envy", and "canvas" relate to each other in the line or others previous to it rhythmically?
Well, I guess you’re outside of what’s known lol Lupe’s Mural that was released is kiddie shit compared to this unreleased one he has. How so? Words That I Never Said came 1 year prior to Reagan, and Reagan despite being an amazing song, it looks like it's a ripoff of Words That I Never Said. You're trippin, this song is about rap as an art form and bout art in general. Heck, you could say Reagan is a ripoff of Conflicted Diamonds which came in 2005, but it ain't true. None of these rappers intended to do that, they have similar themes sometimes, but they never did this thing (rippin off). This song and Reagan have nothing in common, simple as that, even a 6th grader would be able to tell the differences.

Hip hop as an art form. Lupe is 1 of the best at it.

It's insane how much Lupe packed on that second verse. I, too, think that this verse is the best verse this year.
The crazy thing is...Lupe is also a painter! He has designed all of his album covers since Tetsuo & Youth.
I don't consider Lupe a rapper. I mean he raps, but songs like these are more like audio books than music. Bravo
I agree...I’ve had this on heavy rotation since this came out...it’s between J Cole’s feature on Johnny P’s Caddy nd this for VOTY
and his hands didn't even write this
Lupe created a new Tier of Lyricism with this song alone. Drill Music in Zion is a MASTERPIECE.
Yesss. An incredible album! New Lupe video out now btw
one of the best lyricists ever.
The best
the best lyricist ever, I used to crown Kool G Rap at first till realize Lupe
Congratulation, Spited!! You’re my go to channel for finding these rhymes highlighted videos.. Love your work
Glad you like them!
"I never wanted my life to be a collection of some dates
And holiday my days away and intellectually sedate" Sick 🤮
"THE CURRENT ART WORLD IS JUST COMPETITIVELY OPAQUE!!!" I love how Lupe is basically saying most "artists" are out here being competitively MID, LMAO.
