Summer 1996 i was 15 years old...i herd the thist one These song....and instandly i fel in love......sry 4 my mad english....i came from Germany....FUCK IT WAS AN AWESOME TIME IN MY LIFE
This is what made blind guardian strong: Hansi's theatrical story teller way of singing. He was expressing a story while singing, not just being a vocalist that hits notes.
BEST VERSION!!! found this song 2001 (age 10), was hardcore "lord of the rings"fan. from this day on i was hardcore blind guardian fan, too. now i´m 27 :3 ... by the way i´m still a hardcore lotr fan :DDD
I've always wondered, it sounds like he's saying "Seven rings for the gnomes in their halls made of stone" if it was a mistranslation or something. Still the best version of this song.
@@UpIrons777 So did bands Like RAGE, Gamma Ray, or Running Wild. RAGE has the balls out take no prisoners theme, Running wild had the pirate theme, BG had the folk theme, Kai hansen basically invented the genre he could do and DID whatever he wanted and did it to a great degree.
Check "Dreamland Manor" by Savage Circus. Thomen formed that band after leaving BG, and the album is basically Imaginations 2.0. It is uninspired at times, but when it's on, it's dead on. Highlights: "Evil Eyes", "It - The Gathering" and especially "Born Again by the Night".
This version is way too fast, it sounds rushed, as if someone pressed fast forward. still interesting to compare the different arrangements. and both are still great.
Does anyone know when this song takes place in the story? I hear people say that it is about isildurs war where he defeated Sauron, but I'm sure it isn't.
The superior version of the song in my opinion. There is another take of this one that is paced a little differently, and though good - not as good as this one. ua-cam.com/video/Q71A5hPk2mM/v-deo.html

This is so much better than the other version.
By far!!!
Right? The other version is no good
the other one sucks
nope
@@crystallogician sorry pal :P

Nope it's just the original having a mistake
I also very much prefer this version to the re-recording
"Ash nazg durbatulûk ash nazg gimbatul ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul"
That's the ringers way!!!!
Long live Blind Guardian!!
I like this version, I just miss the "I"ll keep the ring full of sorrow, I'll keep the ring til I die" line from the version in "The Forgotten Tales"
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill.
their genre is Blind Guardian metal or Blind Guardian Music. no one sounds like them at all. never has nerdy music been so awesome.
@@mattw6652 true. And its nice to see rockn rolll carry that tradition
Power metal
Speed Metal and Power Metal technically, but yeah the band has their own unique sound altogether.

I only knew this version for some years...Its the best one IMO!
Both versions are so Good \m/
Love this song. I am sure that JRR Tolkien would have been impressed if he had heard this.
I really like this song, for some reason.
Playing "Shadow of Mordor" with this in the background :D
Eric Morata I did it with “Shadow of War”
RIP Christopher.
i wish this song was like an hour long
Scott Berlin me too
Always have this cued up when I'm boxing. The quick beat at the end helps for a fast combo.
That doesn't sound like a bad idea. Thanks!
Πολύ ωραίο κομμάτι...

Μαγικό...
I want to play D&D in the background.
it's the original version
I appreciate the VASTLY improved audio quality and clarity, but the original is just WAY too fast.
mystic
the original
i ll keep the ring full of sorrow
i ll keep the ring till i die
... missing
... there's one to enslave o-rings.... :D
Nine to the moral *whispery voice* which CRY
If you listen closely at 2:05, you can hear that Hansi mispronounced "gnomes" (the "g" is supposed to be silent).
poop hair
Not to mention they should be called dwarves, not gnomes.
BG corrected this in later versions.
4ndr3c3s4r1n0 yes they corrected it but this version has the Best music
@Sebastián Turk No, there is no reference to gnomes in Tolkien's work. Therefore we can only assume they meant dwarves.
@@4ndr3c3s4r1n0 funnily enough, the noldor were initially called gnomes in earlier drafts (i.e. History of Middle Earth)
Missing on spotify, fix pls
Jens Enfald Mörtsjö its fixed now!
best
I prefer the other version. This is a bit too fast and I like the additional lyrics and vocal harmonies in the rerecorded one.

pulenta la cancion ctmre grande lotr
I can't hear slow down, only flow down...i've tried, but I can't
1:42 I hear "hordor", and in 2:05 "nomes", not gnomes
mordor*
Leonardo Cezar Huh?
Does anyone know when this song takes place in the story? I hear people say that it is about isildurs war where he defeated Sauron, but I'm sure it isn't.
"In a land so dark/ Where I have to go"
It's clearly from Frodo's point of view, therefore in the later Third Age.
4ndr3c3s4r1n0 That makes sense, but at the same time, I think it is about other eras too.
Yes, the rings were forged in the Second Age, so the verses about the rings could apply to the Second Age as well.

I find this very odd, th way the original lyrics used to call the dwarves "gnomes" just for the rhyme.
Oh man, this song vinejoelDuane
this can be Witcher 3 soundtrack.perfect for witcher world
jason H. Zeger just for Geralt
Pokemon reloaded bl3ssed Ciudad Sirio
I'm retarded
not gonna lie, the other version you can find is better.

this version is waaayyy too fast
This remastered version is poopy

+Martinrfc87 Oh, why? this is a jewel of a song, and it captures Tolkien's LOTR just perfectly.
Lex He's probably just a troll
Right! Should be a NERD ALERT on this vid. Geez. 😂😂
