Hi everyone! Last minute wild camp once again in the Peak District this time on the Snake Path right by Black Ashop Moor just off the Snake Road.
Such a fantastic location to use the little Wild Country Helm Compact 1 again, very secluded and surrounded by fantastic pine trees. River Ashop gentle babbling away by me too, was so tranquil.

Brilliant little spot that, I camped in that same spot before xmas in Soloist after a bit of getting lost trying to get on the path to Fairbrook Naze having taken the steep track 😂 started losing the light and decided I didn’t want to be pitching in the dark.

Haha well I normally would too, but dropped it when it was raw and apart from the mud, dead pines and leaves that had gone into the meat im not sure what else it fell in, lets just say there were a lot of sheep round there 😂😂 so didnt wana chance it.

@@theheightoflife when you was stood on the rock having a beer , further up was a couple of trees, smaller spot to camp but out of sight , that area where you pitched gets busy . The three hammocks at the end belong to Mancs Gonewild , they have a YT Channel.

Im just starting out wildcamping and have been making a list of possible spots, mainly on top of hills, but this vid has shown me there are other beautiful possibilities.. and also, reading your comments gave me good info on the parking situation too. Oh hi!! Yeah I havent been for a while but happened to go down there a fee weeks back when I was off on a mid day camp, got to Bamford and the whole of the Snake Rd was closed for like 4 or 6 weeks for investigation of the latest landslip at Alport so had to make different plans lol.ill be back soon though hopefully!
Haha next time I'll come n say heloooo ... that damn burger lol, it fell before I cooked it and was covered in all sorts of things you would wana out in your mouth 😂 🐑

Oh mate, I would have been crying about the second burger, could it not be saved? Another amazing spot for a camp. When it's windy I always tie a guy line to my rucksack before taking the rest of the tent down.

Hi Wayne! Thanks so much glad you liked it... There were a few building up when I got there but luckily the wind started picking up so even though it kept me awake I didnt have midges to annoy me 🤣🤣
Another great video Chris. Looked a very windy night but the tent coped very well. I think I’ll invest in a Helm 1 and use it as a wet and windy weather tent as mine pitches inner first which isn’t ideal. I wouldn’t worry about being targeted as a messy camper. They all go in Lady Clough and stay there until mid morning as if it’s a camp site!
Hey!! Yeah mate is really is a very stable little tent, just be very mindful not to pitch it broad side into the wind though. Will still be ok but not at its strongest. Yeah I like to be able to pitch them both together just incase its raining when you have too. You know hoe the weather can change haha.
Oh really! Thats shocking man, the 2nd video I ever put on here in the same area there was a ridiculous size red tent in that actual spot by the waterfall, 6 lads in it, was there at 0700 ish when I went past then still there gone lunch time!! Right where people are walking too 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

I've tried filming a walk and it takes forever. At the beginning, just going through gate probably took about 20 minutes, then you have to edit it. Nicely done.

Well, as you drive down the Snake Road there is a decent size car park on a sharp corner. If you park in there exactly opposite it is the Snake Woodlands. If you go down into those and come out by the river Ashop just follow that along. There are quite a few spots you will come across 😉

@@ou55man Haha welcome to wild camping 😂 although more wind means less midges. So if you go out on a windy one or higher up they wont be there to annoy you.

Hi thank you for taking the time to watch!! I don't unfortunately but I could describe it in a private message. Bear in mind the Snake Woodlands area is being patrolled heavily at the moment as there have been a lot of people damaging the area, lighting irresponsible fires and harming livestock unfortunately. So I've heard a lot of rangers have been about.... this was about 30 or 40 min walk after the main snake woods though and tucked down behind a tree line so could potentially be ok.

For the Snake Woodlands / Snake Path you can park your car in a car park right on a corner 5 min walk from the entrance to rhw woodland when driving down the Snake Road. Its free and fine overnight.

Haha a few people have put that in the comments LOL... I would have done and seems like a simple scenario. But it was dropped before it was cooked straight out the pack, fell in a load of sheep 💩 that was pressed into the meat. I don't mind eating a bit of soil I've ate worse lol but didnt fancy eating the sheep poo. Just washing it in the River Ashop wouldn't kill any bacteria.
