Yes! I used to tell my ex “it’s like you don’t have an off button”. While it’s unfortunate I had to leave her, continuing to watch these videos has been therapeutic, in that it confirms I wasn’t the problem. Thanks Amber. 😊
I have a roommate that's currently getting help for alcohol. He's at a 5 day detox program and I said that's not long enough. You need to be there at least a month because he's a severe alcoholic. He throws up and he has the shakes.
That's wonderful! I have a great FREE program called the 30 Day Jump-start. It's a series of short video messages that come to your inbox each day to keep you motivated and help you overcome roadblocks. It' might be helpful for when you get out. Here's the link in case you're interested. www.familyrecoveryacademy.online/30-day-jump-start
Very informative, useful stuff. I agree with the idea of not showing alcohol in the videos, though. I can see how it could be difficult for some watching the videos.
Very informative. I usually drink everyday after work. Both of my jobs are physical (moving furniture and valet trash). When I do stop I never have any symptoms other than night sweats. I’m actually on a 3 day detox right now. Is this because of the physicality of my jobs why I don’t have any other symptom?
This is very helpful information. I am trying to learn as much as possible about alcohol addiction because i recentIy broke up with someone who has a drinking issue. I saw or heard another video ...not sure if it was one of yours but it said that an alcoholic will feel better and possibly have an easier time quitting drinking when after you are out of their life. Is this true? and if so why? Also my friend was terribly despondent. I was wondering if this is a symptom of alcohol abuse or if it is a medical condition in and of itself. I know you don't have a crystal ball or know this person but i am left with so many questions...he was so tight lipped about his issues in general. thank you for your work.
@@markmertens8441 I am not an expert and can only speak from experience with my family member who is struggling with an addiction to alcohol. She had anxiety issues before but now it's a hundred times worse. Also, Amber explained the anxiety issue in relation to drinking and withdrawal very well in this video.
I'd say yeah but it's just a bad hangover really but people say hangover is still your body withdrawing so that's why I'm saying yeah, but drinking over the weekend wouldn't be anywhere near as bad as someone who drinks all day everyday, just don't assume that your fine to drink everyday because you've already had withdrawals after having a bad hangover because it gets a lot worse than a hangover from a weekend binge, and don't assume because your not getting severe withdrawals it's ok to drink more, if you can go all week apart from the weekend though I wouldn't say your an alcoholic but don't take that as a reason to drink more because all it takes is for you to have a drink when you feel ill after a binge to realise that it's the only way to take the edge off, because when you realise it's the only thing that helps it's easy to end up in a cycle, you'd be safer just dealing with how you feel and let your body recover naturally
1:20, 1:50, 2:46, 2:55, etc Thanks for your wonderful work but repeatedly showing clips of delicious looking, frothing glasses of fresh, cool tasty beer *does not Fing help!* We know what it looks like!

Is it possible to have withdrawal symptoms, if someone is just binge drinking in the weekends?
The short answer is yes.
@@svetlanathomas2341 so that is bad news if you already have anxiety?
