I have watched a lot of these now from over in the UK. I don't think there is a better commentator out there, and there are several excellent ones. Keep up the good work and a Happy New Year to all FSD testers.
I've been impressed by Version 13 of FSD and the one of the latest features, FSD from park. Pro tip... you don't have to completely disengage FSD if all you want to do is speed up. You can press on the accelerator and FSD will warn you that autobraking is disabled while you are manually pressing the accelerator. It will continue to steer and will return to FSD when you release the accelerator.
I’d say it’s about 85/15 for me. 85% perfect, 25% either too fast or total miss. Overall probably best handling of them I’ve had though. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Super good FSD video! WOW -- In the little race you caught a really good example of how important good AI training is and what will happen if the training accidentally contains undesired behavior. Elon has talked about the 'dangers' associated with AI and you captured a good example for how AI can learn bad behavior -- exactly as a human would..
I’m fascinated by the training process. I would think there is no way a person can review all of the videos going into the model, I’m sure AI is involved in that process too. Interested to see how they weed that stuff out. I’d bet that right now they count on the good videos to far outweigh the bad, but clearly it has learned some rough behaviors lol. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!
@EastCoastTesla There was a experiment, where a plastic turtle was left on the side of the road. Not statistcaly insignificant amount of drivers, went out of their way, just to run the turtle over with the car... 🤷♂️
The truck tailgating you was a him problem not FSD. I have no problem personally with that scenario. He was excessively speeding. He had plenty of time to slow down to the speed limit.
I tend to agree with you here. Only issue I have is that it was obvious that he was speeding, and right or wrong, being that it was so obvious, I think we should have waited. He was being a typical big truck driver though lol. They always have to act so cool when they see teslas. I own a lifted diesel truck so it always cracks me up
Thanks for fair and balanced video. I don't understand why you had nearly uncontrolled speeding. Does the "speed offset" setting still work? If you set 20%, if the limit is 40,it won't go over 48 for example. I didn't catch what profile you were using. Chill,. Standard or Hurry? I do find that on 13.2.1 it's much more aggressive in all modes especially on left turns. I'm almost uncomfortable with how close oncoming traffic is when it turns. On the other hand, starts and stops are much smoother and "staging" into the correct lane is earlier. Thank you
Thanks! And I guess in all fairness to the car, it was in hurry mode, but still, way too fast 😂. And yeah, I could adjust the offset downward, but I don’t think I should need to, it should be able to control itself. Which usually it’s pretty good, just a few bad cases. And yeah it’s definitely aggressive at times, but the speed profiles do seem to make a big difference in 13.2.2. Thanks for watching!
4:51 I believe your car actually stopped because the cart guy was coming towards you with that cart he got from the corral. You can see him coming towards you in the passenger window, and as he gets closer, your car stops. I don’t believe it is due to the pedestrians further ahead.
Have you tried reducing the maximum speed offset to correct for too fast in a 35 zone? I have mine down to 20% over instead of the default 40%. Works great for me.
Nice video, thanks. For me attention monitoring with sunglasses on is only a problem very late in the day when I should be wearing regular glasses. I haven't seen many people complain so I wonder if your sunglasses are any different than what most people wear? @12:20ish I think the problem is that the car is slightly off the road and FSD is treating the grass/ground as an obstacle. If you look at the stopped car you can see the car is slightly off the road. Tesla will need to fix this of course I've had this happen to me and seen this issue on other FSD videos.
Good point. Hopefully it’s an easy fix for them. And interesting about the sunglasses. It’s constant for me, and definitely a new problem with V13. Never had an issue with v12. Thanks for watching!
If it was ready, we would have cybercabs all around, certainly it is not yet ready, even in Tesla eyes as they are not working with regulators to convince them that they can start robotaxi service
@2008israelramos @lkrnpk @asdadadadad5416 Depends on what you mean by ready. Robotaxi? No, definitely not ready. If you mean was this version ready to be deployed to the fleet for supervised FSD, then yes, definitely ready.
I would be curious if you have the same speed issues in standard mode. Even though I live in the Phoenix metro area, there are too many speed traps in the suburbs for me to risk hurry mode!
Never had the sunglasses problems you describe with my 12.5.4, so maybe they changed something. I've found that it is very forgiving, so your comment about it noticing very quickly is kind of hard to believe....maybe measure this more exactly because I'm interested in knowing the exact delay.....but maybe its the different version. 🙂
When I was on Version 12 I never had an issue with the sunglasses. This started the moment I downloaded 13.2.2. As far as it noticing me looking at the screen immediately, I’ll do some testing to see the exact timing, but it’s much quicker in V13 than 12. But I’d almost expect that on a new version. Thanks for watching!!
Nice video well commentated but, you are complaining about the car going too fast when you chose the HURRY parameter, I think you are more of a chill or standard guy. 😁
Hahah, I do like standard for the most part. I think the little drag race with the SUV was excessive and poor behavior, but when it was going 14 over in the second clip, it actually was fine safety wise and felt like the right speed for the area, I just don’t want a ticket 😂

I really appreciate this, means a lot! Happy new year to you as well, hope it’s a great one!
I appreciate the effort you put into edit your videos. A lot of good information and not very much chatter to fill time between 'events'.
nice itemize/categorized video. Thanks for all the work on this.
Thanks, I definitely appreciate it!!
Nice. So far you are the only one that has shown any problems with 13.2.2.
Really? I guess you haven't seen other videos then......
Trying to keep it balanced! It’s extremely impressive, but still has issues!

Good advice! Thanks for watching! I’m pretty impressed with v13 also!
I got scared jump 😅😊 when u said let's talk about the bad. 😂
LOL it scares me every time and I made it 😂
Great scenario testing and commentary! How does this version of Tesla vision handle speed bumps?

So it's not ready?
No it’s definitely ready. People just need to be aware.
So no interventions at all? Nothing? @@EastCoastTesla

If you change from hurry mode to standard or chill does it fix any of the bad list problems?
I’ve got to do some more testing, but I started using standard yesterday and it is absolutely more reserved.
Bahahaha the drag race battle is funny
I was dying 😂

Sounds like I need to do some speed profile testing! I’m interested too
I would like to hear something bad it. Thank you. They are solid problems to address despite the great improvement in v13.
For sure, it’s incredible, but still has issues. Albeit small, they must be fixed! Huge improvement, as you said tho!
BTW, I really enjoy your postings. I hope you reach the influencer status of Chuck, Dr. Know it All, Mars, et al!

@ aaahh so it did change. Interesting.
@@chrvids5846 yep very interesting. Hopefully resolved soon because it’s pretty annoying. Small problem in the grand scheme tho
You were already over the speed limit near the end when that truck raced up behind you. He was going way too fast, you owed him nothing.

I trust FSD more than most teenage or senior driver out there
So are you holding those people to same standard?
