I played the solo version of this today and absolutely love it! I have played Dinosaur World and it most definitely (in my opinion) retains a lot of the thematic, key concepts and feel. This is a solo game that will stay in my collection for a long time and I am looking forward to playing it multiplayer.

I really like the dice drafting in this game. It feels like there's a lot more going on in this than other Roll and Writes. I haven't played multiplayer yet but i'm really enjoying it Solo

I’m excited to try it myself! One of the things I really like is that there is an app that functions as the paper. It’s really neat and makes running out of sheets a non-issue. It also helps you with scoring.

This has easily become my most enjoyable, low energy setup, great decision making games.

The retail version does come with a bag but it does not have the logo on the bag

Making space for the big buildings .. I like the idea of planning for your bigger buildings later using your drawings, in particular.

We really love this game, excellent port from its parent. So fun, and that's what it's all about. Good rules, fun game play, plenty of variability. Fun fun fun!

I feel that roll and writes can't be lumped all together, the roll and write mechanic can be used to lower the cost of the game and lessen the setup burden.

I agree, and I appreciate the easy set up especially for what is otherwise a game with a decent weight to it. Though some roll & writes feel a little expensive for what you get. I think this is $45 retail, and it's a good production but doesn't feel like a lot of components for the cost- though I suppose for this type of game to be a full non roll & write production would cost more.

I like this game. But for me, it's not whether or not it needed to bee a roll 'n write, but if its too complex to be a roll n write. Those games tend to not have as many mechanics as this game does and it feels like they forced this into a roll n write instead of it organically being one. Good game though, just don't expect it to be as easily teachable and intuitive as something like railroad ink.

784 views BUT only 59 thumbs up.
7.5% is not a reflection on your video, which is very good, just something majority forget.

Actually I feel most roll and write games are just roll and writes for sake of it. I can kind of always see a better board game version although the production costs likely higher

Every one of Mike's concerns are things that put me off Welcome To DinoWorld. When the potential AP and general game weight hit a point I've come to the conclusion I would rather be sitting in front of a boardgame rather than a roll and write. I can't help but feel the rules comparison is being made relative to medium weight euros rather than roll and X games i.e. Welcome To, Trails of Tucana, Rail Road Ink etc. all of which I love but must have less than a third of the rules/phases/mechanisms.

Mike completely fails to answer the obvious question. If I own Dino Island, why would I want this game. Big blind spot in this review.

I don't think that's an obvious question at all. I've never heard of a roll-and-write replacing a board game.

The fact that he said he liked the embroidery on the bag makes me question his general sense for visual appeal. This thing looks like it was made by a blind, one handed old man with arthritis... Rest of the review is solid :D
