  • Flea Market Find That Made Me Laugh is a video where I share a piece of cast iron cookware that I found at Collinsville Flea Market in Collinsville Alabama. The piece was quite a surprise and I just had to share it.

I think the fact that it’s two different name brand skillets and one makes it the coolest😊

I do enjoy seeing the damaged repair done to skillets. Some are done by people that are skilled in their trade and some are obviously done out of desperation to get it functional again.

That's a nice piece, but the best peace is the one on the counter between your left shoulder and elbow.

That's a special piece for sure. I have a skillet that I found out here in Oregon that I have had trouble identifying. It has that slight triangle at the handle with a slight ridge where it meets the pan too. I call it the disco ball because it spins so much. It is my buttermilk bisket pan that I learned how to make from watching your videos. It's clearly old and has a very minor amount of sulphur pitting on the bottom. It's probably a southern mystery piece. Thanks.

I would set up at Collinsville back in the late 80's ,it was always a mystery on who was sitting up beside you . One day I had a preacher without a church one side the other side was a person selling coon hounds . The one that would drive you crazy was the water bird whistle .The guy would blow that thing all day long . That one is just the right size for cornbread

not too long ago I found a 3 notch vintage lodge 11 skillet. I like it so much better than the newer ones. It has a smoother cooking service and it's not nearly so heavy as the modern ones. I think Lodge messed up. The old ones were so much better. I got a great price on it. Flat bottom, no wobbles and all fixed up. That's the skillet I use to sear my steaks.

Yeah, I kept my old Lodge frying pan with a broken off handle (I didn't know about braising) even after somebody bought me a new frying pan. The new pan never developed the slick black surface, even though I tried caring for it more than I ever did the Lodge.

old ones are better, it is something to consider in a lot of product. washers, driers, refrigerators are junk these days. the older ones last forever. there was a motorcycle, the maico 490, 1981, was the best cycle in its class. no manfacturer could beat it. but the next 3 years models were so bad by comparison, the company went bankrupt. all new stuff is junk.

@@bobs5596 Yes, I had to replace all my appliances in 2016. The reviews here on UA-cam were terrible for every make and model of everything. I bought cheap ones, and I feel lucky they lasted until 2023, since people said their appliances were only lasting two years or needed service all the time.

Is the handle braised or welded?
