Imagine being a Mavericks fan back then. You have Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd and Jim Jackson in Dallas. Things started to look bright... until, Dallas traded them away in 1997 [along with Sam Cassell] because it was a nightmare in the locker room...
I seen him in the All Time Pelicans and i didn't know who he was when i first saw him and he's now one of my favorite players, his defense i see wasn't really sparkling though
This man was ahead of his time, and I'm almost certain if he had all the technologies we have today and all the fitness/nutritional advancements would have made him a better player. He was still a beast. And only 19 comments on here tell me only to he real basketball fans remember him.
He could never quite be the scorer in Miami he was capable of being. I don't know why. Zo wasn't a black hole who demanded touches. And Hardaway was a willing passe and not a ball hog. But then he went to Charlotte and dominated at SF again. Destroying the Heat only playoffs series.
I wish he played in this modern NBA he would be a even bigger beast then he was in the 90s
That is a good point. He would fit right in todays game easy.
He gotta a bright son who is like 92 on the espn top 100
Yup

Yes, I agree Dave. I believe that team could have been a title contender as they continue to grow together.
It hurt!
Mash was so graceful foe a big fella he banged it in his share of cats but he was about finesse…

Loved how they said Mashburn in nba jam. What I remember about him was his handles for a 3 then, spin moves.

Mashburn would've been a great 4 in today's basketball. Dude was money from midrange and fundamentally sound in his role.
